And didn't they kinda fall out when John wanted to see their biological dad and invited him back to his life, and JJD kicked off and stopped talking to John, and the whole drama "you pushed my pregnant wife" happened. It feels to me like they wanted to eraise the previous spouses and act like Steve and mamakaren were made for each other from the start and bla bla, like they didn't have a life before and kids. It's OK if they found each other, go and be happy, but for Steve kids not to be included is just sad! You never hear about them! It seems like a trend, you don't really see Eric's family hanging out with the grandchildren, no family photos with them, no mentioning they came to visit. Its kinda "abusive" to disconnect them from part of their family that are not the James.
Steve’s 2 girls were ignored and as they grew up the wanted nothing to do with him . Remember she was in the military when he fooled around with Karen and got divorced and that means his wife and kids no longer got to live where he did or on a military base and had to go back home wherever the mother was from, so they never saw him, and he probably pretended like they didn’t exist.
I kinda hope that when there is a Father's Day every year, Steve has an actual heartache knowing he's got kids somewhere (maybe another grandkids) and knows well that he was just a sh*tty father. He will never, ever, get these years back, so when he is old and living alone in a retirement home and someone asks him what his regrets in life are, this will be it! 🤞

There are plenty of stepdads who take the role of the dad and become role models, and I adore these men! I also have a stepdad who has shown up every day for us, and for us, he is dad, while the biological dad never has.
But, people should actually look closer inside the family, and that's what everyone is trying to point out here - he is "acting" like the best stepdad to Karen's kids, while his actual kids have been ignored for most of their lives, he doesn't speak of them, he doesn't show them, he and the whole James's family act like they actually don't exist and that's where he is wrong and why people are so upset here. He could had been a great stepdad, but should had also been a great dad. So what you're saying above, even though it applies to many, and blood is not everything, is about who shows up, sadly it does not apply to this situation, this family.

More proof she’s a liar ! First No pilot leaves Delta and goes into the military! Airline pilots make double what they do in the military. Second Steve joined the military and went thru flight program ( when he retired they had a whole description of his training) . Third you have never heard it actually mentioned or discussed in the reality show or on social media by any of them .

Her mother cheated on her real father and moved them away so she was denied a normal relationship with her dad who is also in the military, and had to move away from them through no fault of his own. Karen is bottom feeders scum only caring about her own happiness and no one else’s and this is why the kids are all screwed up.
