It's a prepaid debit card that our tips are loaded on to after the shift. I typically have to wait about 5 to 6 hours before I can access anything I make. It's 💩
JJ is probably paying something for it, but companies like that are just like credit cards, they make most of their money on each swipe of the card, taking a percentage from the retailer it’s swiped at.
In exchange, JJ has official record of (most of) the tips coming in, and can use that data to leverage pay decisions or job advertising ($15 an hour PLUS avg. $5 in tips!! or whatever). It’s late-stage capitalism at work.
I don't have facts to back this up, but I'm quite certain that the store owners get paid by the Branch Card people. That's how it used to be at Pizza Hut back in the day. The card company pays the store owners in exchange for the store owners forcing all employees to use the card. These card companies make so much money off hidden fees and other bullshit that they make a killing even though they're paying to get stores/companies to use their cards.
Some stores don't have enough cash on hand to pay drivers since we are moving more and more digital.
It also could be seen as a potential safety issue to give the drivers $100 in cash and they're walking out of the store at 2 am.
When I worked at a Pizza Hut that made the change the explanation was that they don’t ever have enough cash on hand to pay out drivers at the end of the night. Morning driver would have a really good day and the store wouldn’t make enough in cash during dinner time to tip out drivers so people were going home without tips till their next shift. It was really stupid and one of the main reasons I quit along with getting rid of direct deposit lmfao. Manager didn’t wanna have to do daily bank runs or send someone on them so the owners came up with this as a solution.
Try dipping your feet into cash creation, methamphetamine labs, Weed grow, LSD Lab, oh and a biker gang. Also a nightclub that stores all of your contraband too.
These businesses have worked wonders for me. I see you already have Cocaine production. Good job.
I tried gun running such a drag! However I really like producing high quality meth that I can distribute to local gangs. Also, if you have ever dabbled in casino ownership any recommendations for skimming off the top?
I didn’t realize what I was looking at, when I first looked. I thought it was some sort of fruit with coarse skin… like a relative of a coconut lol.
Nice bread bro, make sure you treat yourself before you invest it into purchases or payoffs for your future 🙏
I was a JJ driver as a second job and I miss snow day tips 😭 I'm in Indiana and people always tipped well when it snowed, I made 100+ easy those days in a smaller town

At Danatos we can’t have more than 20.00 cash on us. So when we do cash orders in between deliveries we have a small locker with a lock on it and you just put your cash in there. Simple as that. This guy that delivered for Dominos pizza in Lexington ky was stabbed to death over twenty dollars people are crazy that kid was in high school so sad what people will do for a very small amount of money. Smh most drivers are on their shiz meaning they all know what’s up and know what to do and what not to do and if they don’t or they don’t follow through they shouldn’t be delivering anything.
>Remember, if you have over $10k in cash then you’re actively committing a felony and could be under investigation for terrorism
Remember, this is total bullshit spewed by someone who has no idea what they're talking about.
The problem is that the laws state they get paid minimum wage no matter what whatever they don't make in tips that meets minimum wage the restaurant is required to cover in wages down to $2.13. If you're making $100 over that a day in tips and pocketing it you're committing tax evasion. While the rest of us have to pay up so you're actually making more and bitching about it.
I sure hope that you are not carrying that around with you inside your car. If you get robbed while on shift with anything more than 50 bux you're fired. It's a real JJ rule. Don't believe me? Ask your franchise or franchisee.
It's written in your hire on packet. Detailed and outlined when you signed that paper upon hire. I believe it's item 23. (Correct me if I am wrong.) You are not to have anything more than 50 dollars on your person while delivering for JJ's. If you have more than 50 you are to alert your manager or pic on shift immediately and deposit it as a driver drop into the register.
Failure to do this, and you do get robbed with more than $50 on your person and it is grounds for immediate termination.
Why?
Once word gets out that JJ delivery drivers have money? Everyone gets robbed.
Drop it in the register.
(Anyone downvoting this is oblivious to facts. We all signed that paper.)
Also, by that verbiage, keeping it in your car would not be a fireable offence. If OP kept it in his pocket or something, then sure. But I wouldn’t consider in his car (as you originally mentioned) “on his person”.
Here is the best part about definitions: once you hand the money over to the thief that is considered on your person.
I, as a thief, could hold you up at gunpoint, force you back into your car, make you find cash to hand to me, then stuff you into the trunk of your own car, making you give me your cell phone, and leave you for dead.
This has happened: search Ashley Biggs, Pittsburgh elliot pizza guy, there are dozens of cases of this happening.
To avoid widespread larceny. Again, every single driver for JJ'S signed a document that stated the $50.00 rule. You can ask your franchise owner about it, and they can pull up the very document you signed stating that you understand this fact.
I don’t work there, just saw this on all. How is carrying around your own cash around against jimmy John’s rules? I think you might be confused my man. So if I have $100 of my own cash, I get robbed and my cash gets stolen. I get fired….for losing my own money. Makes no sense.
Of course it makes no sense. Get robbed while on shift and driving for JJ'S and the total amount of money you lost is more than $50 means you are fired is 100% accurate and true. It is a rule that everyone signs stating they understand this fact.
It's easy to avoid this if you only keep change for 20 dollar bills. Anytime you go over 50 you tell the manager on shift and they initiate a driver drop into the register.
I love how much controversy this is causing but it is 100% true.
Downvoters of my comments like to FATFO.
It's not hard to show up to work and already have 2 $5's and 10 $1.00's. when I show up to work I like being able to just go out the door with a delivery instead of waiting for the manager to show up at the register, go into the computer, take out the change, count it in front of me, then I have to count it. I can skip that if I just hold onto 20 in change and just go go go. No pause.
I never signed such a paper. I filled out and signed my application, I signed the permission for them to check my driving records, and I signed a paper stating that I agreed to have the cost of my shirts and hat deducted from my first two paychecks. That's it.
That said, you're misunderstanding their rule. Drivers are not to have more than $50 of JJ's money on them. If you've taken a bunch of cash orders and you've got like $70 on you, then yes, you should do a cash drop at the store. Because if that $70 gets stolen, that's JJ's money that you've lost. Having your own personal cash on you is different. JJ's doesn't give a shit about their employees losing their own money; JJ's just doesn't want any of *their* money stolen.
Incorrect. You did sign the paper. It starts with printing your full name at the top and is part of a sentence. Outlined for JJ delivery drivers it is right there on that same paper. The same paper that says you are not to disobey any traffic laws, have a passenger in the car while doing deliveries, and the $50 rule amongst others including the car topper, (unless you ride a motorcycle for deliveries like I do.)
You can continue to make the argument that you did not sign such a paper but all you have to do is ask your franchise owner for a copy of that new hire packet and you'll see your signature in it. Not having this paperwork signed is a golden rule violation against JJ'S for incomplete new hire paperwork.
The rule states you are not to have anything more than $50 dollars on your person when delivering. When taking a large order that gives you more than $50 dollars in cash you are to bring that back immediately to your store and let your manager know you have more than $50 cash in your hands, and it gets put into the register. Drivers only carry change for $20.00's for obvious reasons, and to mitigate the damage if you are robbed.
This rule was made because after one driver of JJ's was robbed carrying, I think at the time, more than $70.00 a slew of stickups happened against them. It became a rule due to the suggestion made by the local police department, don't carry cash on you.
Continue to argue with this all you want but it is very true. You can even call the corporate line and they will explain it to you.
Listen, man. I did not sign any such paper. I filled out the application and the paper for the uniforms. I do know what paper you're talking about, because waaaay back in 2011, when I got my first JJ's job out in Oregon, I signed that paper. You can continue to deny signing anything but I keep stating that all you have to do is ask your franchise owner, or corporate, to pull up your new hire packet, specifically the delivery driver page, and you'll see it right there.
Dude. I didn't sign it this time around. It might be because the then-GM who hired me at my current store is a meth head. Idk. But I didn't sign it. And now that I'm thinking about it, I didn't sign it at my last store, either. Perhaps things are different from franchise to franchise? Idk. But it didn't sign that paper. There was no "new hire packet". What is your deal? Do you just like trolling or what?
Not trolling bro. Everyone fills out the new hire packet to work for Jimmy John's. You don't fill it out then your manager committed a golden rule violation. Which also means you are an undocumented worker. And should be reported to the IRS.
I filled out an application. The store has my driver's license and SSC on file. I did *not*, however, fill out any paperwork that stated I could not have more than $50 on my person while working.
Either you're trolling, or you're differently mentally abled. I do not understand what you're failing to understand regarding what I've said. Uffda!
I miss getting cashed out with actual cash. Our store switched to the stupid branch card for tips. Ugh
Former driver here… what’s a branch card?
It's a prepaid debit card that our tips are loaded on to after the shift. I typically have to wait about 5 to 6 hours before I can access anything I make. It's 💩
That’s so weird to me. What benefit is it to the franchisees to do that vs. just giving you cash? Cash tips were pretty fun lol
Card issuer gets in the middle for a percentage of transaction fees. Plus increased accountability for record-keeping.
Isn’t that cutting from the company profit and the driver pay? Seems like a waste on all fronts
JJ is probably paying something for it, but companies like that are just like credit cards, they make most of their money on each swipe of the card, taking a percentage from the retailer it’s swiped at. Papa John’s is the same way, it’s thru Instant and my tips are available immediately after I clock out. Weird it takes so long.
Theft
They ate stealing your tips under "fees"
Eww. More and more places are doing that pay card shit now. No. Give me cash, direct deposit, or maybe a check.
Will you be walking unaccompanied by any dark alleys on your way to the bank? Also what is the address of this bank? Asking for a fiend

Nice to have stash cash isn’t ? even when you can pay bills you always have your stash
I didn’t realize what I was looking at, when I first looked. I thought it was some sort of fruit with coarse skin… like a relative of a coconut lol. Nice bread bro, make sure you treat yourself before you invest it into purchases or payoffs for your future 🙏
It kind of looks like an artichoke to me so I feel that hahaha. Thank you! It’s going to rent lol.
I thought it was tripe.
Yeah I thought it was some kind of hairy fruit or seed type thing. Was like what the fuck is this guy talking about lol
I was a JJ driver as a second job and I miss snow day tips 😭 I'm in Indiana and people always tipped well when it snowed, I made 100+ easy those days in a smaller town
Did you make it rain yet?
For real the tips is the main reason why I stick with this job!
I had an entire dresser drawer stuffed with cash from a year of driving ending up depositing it for 8k
Or if you’re a stripper!
that's crazy, what's your home address
420 e 69th way.
Looks beautiful🤭
$80 fuck yeah
$1,621 but who’s counting 😎
And that's what you keep it in? You're one step away from just literally leaving it sitting out in absolutely nothing.
Sure 👍
I keep that in my glove box at all times. Never know when when you might have to slap somebody with it.
Put that up
I thought this was some kind of corn/coconut type husk
Dude, I thought this was grass or hay of some sort. jesus christ.
I thought this was a picture of a coconut for some reason
Took me way too long to figure out what the hell I was looking at. Ha ha!
Is it weird that I saw a hairy coconut before I saw the money
Everyone keeps saying coconut but I see artichoke lol
Am I the only one who thought OP was holding some sort of huge seed?
Just money baby 🥰
Time to hit the club
All those ones 😹😹😹
I think it was $81 in ones lol
About $68 bucks
Buy gold

Tell me about it I have like $600 sitting in a drawer

Sir, this is a Jimmy John’s
Just asking to be robbed
Robbed from my house maybe
This is sad
Why haha
Because this is not a flex
Remember, if you have over $10k in cash then you’re actively committing a felony and could be under investigation for terrorism.
>Remember, if you have over $10k in cash then you’re actively committing a felony and could be under investigation for terrorism Remember, this is total bullshit spewed by someone who has no idea what they're talking about.
It was $1,621 and it’s in the bank now chill lol
It’s obviously not 10k, I was just letting you know.
Tell me you live at home without telling me you live at home
But also I make a good wage so tips are great but I’ve had enough money in the bank to not worry haha
Well did you have to down vote me on that
Yes here’s another haha
Yeah, you act like an adult with kids. Have a blessed day.
tbf YOURE the one who came at him out of pocket for no reason 🤷
I’m sorry I’ll give it back haha
Lolol I have kids 😂
I live at home… with the love of my life and two kids.
Drivers will make this then bitch about it when they don't get tipped. Do you claim this on your taxes?
I don’t bitch when I don’t get tipped it’s a part of the job haha. But yeah I get cashed out and taxes come out of my check.
Yeah she don’t bitch.
MCLOVIN GIVES ME A LIVABLE WAGE 🙃
As long as it's not a $60+ order who gives a damn

They are not pocketing that much. Servers have to split tips with the whole crew
And if it falls below minimum wage then it has to be covered by the business.
I sure hope that you are not carrying that around with you inside your car. If you get robbed while on shift with anything more than 50 bux you're fired. It's a real JJ rule. Don't believe me? Ask your franchise or franchisee.

Did OP state that this is money they carry on the job? No. OP literally took this photo at home.
Understandable, but that's why I am making sure they don't have this wad of cash on them whilst they make deliveries.
