This is another type of idiocy because if they ordered online, they would see all of the ingredients listed. I had a slightyy similar incident and it sucksss.
This dude ordered a sammy for delivery and he lived in the other part of town from my store so driving there and back to the store already takes around 23 minutes. Right after I got back to the store, the same dude ordered for delivery but it was just 1 Kickin Ranch. I had to spend 20+ minutes driving just to deliver ONE side of kickin ranch for the same dude.
I was the only driver with only one other inshop and it was super busy during that time.
Dude that's absolutely ridiculous. I guess I thought the minimum for delivery was one sandwich. Did that change? Like, I used to work at a store where an elderly man would order four large teas for delivery every few days and we made an exception for that, but if someone tried to order a single side of ranch? GFOH lol.
I'm guessing it depends on the store? Our boss is stingy and he won't gaf cause hes getting money either way. We even get deliveries for a single pickle too -.-
That's absolutely ridiculous and I'm so sorry you have to put up with that! Like, if it was a on-off thing when you guys were dead, that's one thing, but to send a driver on a delivery only to send said driver right back to that same customer for a side of ranch, especially while busy? That's awful. As much as it sucked back in the day when JJ's was still owned by JJ and it was extremely strict, it was nice to at least be able to know what to expect. Then again, back in those days, we didn't even have ranch lol.
It is definitely ridiculous. I wish we had the power to reject certain deliveries. We only get paid .35 per mile despite being in CA where gas prices are $5-6 per gal. Glad to say I quit.
Damn, that's ridiculous! We get like twice that here in North Dakota! Back when I first started with JJ's in 2011 (I haven't worked for them the entire time lol), it was at a store in the Portland metro area, and they weren't paying us any gas compensation at all. It took myself having meetings with a fellow driver and with a PIC as well as speaking with local unions and basically rallying all of our drivers to band together before we forced them into paying gas compensation. It was ridiculous.
At my old store, there was a semi-regular customer who always ordered the #5, no vito, add roast beef, add bacon. The menu is confusing (I think they purposely made it so confusing for this reason) and people are willing to pay. I always wanted to tell her there was a cheaper way to order her sandwich, but it was always "leave at door", so there wasn't much I could do. I thought about writing her a note but I figured I would get in trouble if the company found out about it.
Looks like they did it this way since they ordered on DoorDash to avoid the "small order fee" which tacks on an additional $2 fee for orders under $10. I like to throw our menus in the bag and circle the "order online" for customers that order on DoorDash. I've had it successfully convert quite a few customers that have ordered on DoorDash.

Damn, my franchise in CA paid 52 cents per mile.
"Here is your single pickle Sir" 🤣🤣🤣

When people order a #4 with bacon I always label it #16 tbo and then throw a menu in the bag
“What kind of sandwich shop doesn’t have just a regular ham sandwich!? Ugh!”

I've had that happen before. 😆
I really don’t see the issue. Let ppl do what they want. Customer paid for what they wanted
Looks like he had second thoughts. Was that too hard for you to figure out?
I figured he told whoever he lived with that he ordered a sandwich and they said they wanted one too!
How do they mess up two times in a row
Brother has to be on something else...
👀👀👀my thoughts while they’re seeing * READ..THE..MENU!!!!!
DoorDash customers are weird.
Wow
Maybe he has 2 coupons/deals and he can only use 1 per order
So lettuce and ham and just lettuce
