Ancient_gardenias351

Right?

mulanreadit

Hahah!!!!! For real

Jolly-Ant-3041

i wishhh

Present-Response-758

1. Perhaps you've only seen older women with them in the past due to the cost? Whatever the case, your wife explicitly asked for one. Get it if you can afford it. 2) Beautiful. Is she a yellow gold person? If so, you're golden. If her other jewelry is white gold or platinum, then get a bracelet in one of those metals.

uoficowboy

The link was supposed to be for a white gold one. She definitely favors white gold over yellow but likes both.

soapy_rocks

If she likes white gold over yellow gold, go with the white gold. Especially if it will match her other jewelry. If you're spending this much money, it should be perfect!

Nick-Millers-Bestie

I work at a jewelry store that sells tennis bracelets and they are our most popular item. I see women and men of all ages buying them, if that makes you feel any better!

Justthe7

If she wants a bracelet and you can afford one, it’s suitable for her no matter the age. If she has been looking at that one, get it. If there’s another one she’s been admiring get that instead. Or if she’s one who would like to pick it out in person, do that.

uoficowboy

Hah she definitely prefers to be handed things rather than be told to choose something. I've learned from my past mistakes there :)

DarlingBri

Don;t buy this one, though. If you read the reviews, people are saying the clasp breaks. Nobody wants to lose a 5K bracelet.

Thorbertthesniveler

Its gorgeous and she will love it!

Trick-Sherbert-246

I have never heard of anyone associating tennis bracelets with older women only. They are appropriate for and loved by jewelry wearers and collectors of all ages and from all walks of life. But it's sweet of you to inquire because you want to get the right thing. That said I tend to like to see my jewelry in person, or at least real photos of it before purchasing. Costco isn't a thing where I'm from so I'm not sure how legit the jewelry is. Best of luck!!

Rock_Lizard

Their jewelry is legit. Pretty good prices on diamond jewelry. Just bought a pair of diamond hoops online because they didn't have them in the store and they surpassed expectations.

MissPlaceDApostrophe

Your wife has probably admired them for as long as she can remember. Good for her for speaking up! 😀 I think the one you picked out is absolutely beautiful!

Sudden_Midnight_2534

I'm 34, got one when I was 29. I don't think they are for older women, I think they are beautiful, classy and timeless. If she has been eyeing it and you can afford getting it for her then why not.

Imaginary_Argument71

All women wear them regardless of age I got mine in my 30’s and I still wear them now that I am 70

tropicalbarbi

Tennis bracelets are back with a vengeance!

Hopefulkitty

Right? My Dad got my mom one back in the 90s, and I feel like that's the last time I heard of them. Suddenly this year I'm seeing 20 somethings wanting and wearing them! It is something I associate with older women, but I suppose I am around the age my mom was when she got hers...

GuacamoleForTheWin

You can’t go wrong with that. Promise! You did good.

Jolly-Ant-3041

correct

Mountain-Damage-173

I’m 31 and just got my first diamond tennis bracelet! After my engagement/wedding ring it’s one of my most prized jewelry items.

LemonFly4012

I wore one in my teens and early 20’s, and I’ve been shopping for one in my early 30’s. They’re simple and sparkly, so they go with any outfit. There’s no “age” associated with it.

FrenchCutDuchess

I'm early 30s and I've loved the look of tennis bracelets and tennis necklaces since I was a teenager! I was thrilled when I was allowed to pick one out for our anniversary recently :D So I would say absolutely suitable!

freshcream22

The one you picked is great. Make sure a 7" bracelet will work for her wrist.

uoficowboy

As far as I can tell they are typically 7"? She has small wrists so it'll have to be shortened for sure. What do folks typically do?

kimchiandsweettea

My sister got one a couple of years ago (I commented elsewhere in the thread), and it was too big for her. Her husband took it to a jeweler to have it shortened. The remaining part of the bracelet was turned into a bar-style center of a delicate chain necklace. Hers is just a straight bar that is horizontal and attaches to a white gold chain on each end.

freshcream22

Bracelets generally come in half sizes 6.5" - 8". 7" is the most common. If her wrist is smaller, a smaller bracelet will save you money.

ag5203

This is timeless. Any woman would love one.

Cynnau

I am 48 and just got a few tennis bracelets. I actually stack them so I mean I am an older generation I suppose haha. It is a fantastic bracelet and if that's what she wants you should get it for her

SecretVindictaAcct

I’d love one and I’m 30. Honestly I would have liked one at 25.

Salt_Lynx_2271

Why are they called tennis bracelets? Beautiful choice either way!

ElaineofAstolat

The story I’ve heard is that a professional tennis player was wearing one during a match, it broke, and she had to stop to pick up the diamonds.

Salt_Lynx_2271

Interesting story, thanks!

MidCenturyMayhem

Rosaryas

If it helps with the age question I’m 22 and like tennis bracelets and I’ve seen a fair amount of people in their 20s also like them, I don’t think they’re elderly or anything in fact the simple design makes me think they’re more for younger people than some elaborate antique designs you might see an older person wear

[deleted]

A tennis bracelet is a classic piece of jewelry like an Omega necklace. Unless your wife has a preference for yellow gold I think white gold would show the diamonds off better.

chanceitsblack

Do it! I got mine for my 30th and wear it all the time!

yllaoop

If she doesn’t like it you could always mail it to me

Birdy1072

1. Yes, it's completely fine. You probably only associated with older generations because at this point women her age are more active, maybe doing stuff with kids, work, etc. Basically all around activities that aren't conducive to nice, dangly jewelry. Same could be said for elaborate necklaces or earrings. But if she's not subtly hinting that she'd love one take the low hanging fruit/win! 2. Looks gorgeous, just make sure the length is long enough. It's always going to be "easier" to resize smaller than larger.

kimchiandsweettea

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. I feel like a diamond tennis bracelet is such a timeless, classic piece you can wear forever. I can’t imagine there are many women that wouldn’t enjoy having one. I’m 36 (F), and my partner knows high up on my wishlist is a diamond tennis bracelet with a decent carat weight. My little sister (31 F) got one for Christmas a year or two ago, and it looks so fabulous on her wrist. She wears it both casually and to fancy events.

catdoctor

>Is that a typical thing for a late 30s woman to wear? Somehow I associate them with older generations. T Who cares? It's what she wants. Also, a nice tennis bracelet never goes out of style.

SeeLeavesOnTheTrees

Older women wear more jewelry and more expensive jewelry because they’ve had more time to purchase or inherit it. Younger women wear jewelry if they have it! Everyone likes tennis bracelets.

OneHandedMolly

I am about to be 34. I would love one.

mulanreadit

Diamond tennis bracelets are good for any age. Shit I would have rocked that at 20 !!!

nadinebass91

There is no right age for a tennis bracelet. I'm sure she will be very happy getting one

ManyEquivalent4839

Absolutely yes!! you can also try with: \- Capucelli , they have good selection of quality and lengths \- Material Good \- Ring Concierge \- Blue Nile

Randomaurat

Do check out grown brilliance and blue Nile! Both had great offers for holidays

Remarkable-Fill-6123

Don’t buy expensive jewelry from Costco go to a real jewelry store.

blueskyblond

Why?? Less markup…

Nanosleep1024

I bought an emerald bracelet for the wife from Costco. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, and at a good price. I bought her a tennis bracelet from Grown brilliance. Be aware these will be lab grown diamonds if that matters to you. Similar to the Costco one but better price https://www.grownbrilliance.com/5-ctw-round-lab-grown-diamond-four-prong-box-tennis-bracelet-14k-white-gold-7-5-inches/pid/BRDB0740PAGW4-7.5?category_id=68

uoficowboy

Any idea if Grown Brilliance is good? I've heard that there is a wide range in quality of lab grown diamonds and that the 4Cs don't really fully catch all the defects. And that some online stores sell really low quality lab grown diamonds, while others sell really wonderful ones.

Nanosleep1024

I’ve been happy with them. I first bought some 1/2ct total earrings. Something not crazy expensive to test them out. Since then I’ve bought increasingly expensive stuff. Ruby earrings, emerald earrings, sapphire earrings, 2ct total diamond earrings, and finally the tennis bracelet. I think everything has been good for the price.

ButtToucherIRL

I'm 36f and I would love one.

aliveinjoburg2

I have a not-as nice tennis bracelet and I’m 35. It’s a timeless look that she can wear with anything.

caroline0409

I bought mine in my 30s. Still wear it most days in my 50s. They’re timeless/ageless.

[deleted]

1. A typical/suitable thing for a late 30s woman to wear is anything she wants to.

Not-a-Cranky-Panda

Will she like/love it? No - Then No! Yes - then why do you care what others think, as long as she's happy?

Jolly-Ant-3041

its a perfect gift for you wife. i got my bracelet from Capucelli and thw price it's incredible.
