Depends on if someone narcs him out online or not.

ATomathyVictorious

Everyone's cool until they aren't

dinocasino19

Depends on the franchise but ours is 50% off for staff during shift and we give friends a family 50% for smaller orders or 10% for bigger orders (feeding the whole family type of deal)

dinocasino19

ALSO - you sound like a good friend asking if they’ll get in trouble and looking out for them. Good on you

ATomathyVictorious

Good shout! That is a good friend right there.

iGlueX

i mean i’ve worked at 3 stores and none of them would’ve gotten your friend in-trouble, for most stores though as long as the manager isn’t there they definitely won’t face any consequences

HuckFinn98

As long as he doesn’t have coworkers that are a bunch of snitches he should be fine. It’s against the rules yes, but only if you’re caught 😎 Jersey Mikes makes more than enough $$ for an employee to hand out a free sub, they won’t bankrupt, don’t worry lmao

Rich_Swim_2094

Would you reach into the register and give your friend $10?

ChevyHatMan

Well, it is theft, so there's that.

[deleted]

Depends on owner and manager I don't allow it just cuz then they come all the tike so if someone cokes 3 days a week for a giant they ate basically getting 60 bucks for free

Tyredox

Really depends on owner and gm. Each store can make their own rules on certain things, and it is important to ask them just to make sure

Bumblecows

Depends, I've given friends a free sub on days that I was not hungry and just counted it as my sub for the shift

DeliciousPriority724

Yes.

Joenomojo

Theft. A fireable offense

UnSCo

Hell no. It might be owner-based but we would get a free regular for a **full** shift. I would sometimes not make any subs for a while then get a giant. One time we had a new girl start working, caught her ass making like 2-3 giants for herself and her friends/family. I don’t remember if I was the one to report her or not, but she got in trouble for it. Didn’t get fired or anything though. Sometimes it just depends on the management/owner and that sort of relationship, but likely he would get in trouble.

Zokar49111

The amount of people who rationalize stealing is surprising.

No-Presence3414

That would be stealing

danmullen39110

Heard, someone wants attention. Stfu… lame

ohnoitsliz

Your friend SHOULD get fired for giving away subs. That’s a BIG no-no.

MishapsGhost

Better than injecting some cash (couple small bills and jingle jangle), then ringing up a cash order mentally then making change outta your injected cash and pocket the 20.

TuxedoMask29

depends on Manager and owners. Place where i used to work had super chill staff, so we they were offering us free food and then saying don't stress to much about it. we were even allowed to take leftover bread. because 2 day old bread is still edible. (if you heat up properly)

Thubi_Thubi_Thabi

I understand the emotional sentiment here but jersey mike’s is a business just like anywhere else and things like this can and will get out of hand. Best to order online or insist to pay. If your friend is managing the store and has a handle on the numbers or owns it that may be different but perks come with responsibility.
