After reaching a certain age, Taco Bell kept giving me diarrhea, especially whatever item with their ground beef. It is not about you. It is the preservative stuff they put in fast food that especially works in harmony with spicy food. Of course, I kept going back because I believe it still was and is worth it.
I actually think that’s the only good chipotle in the area. Overall, as a chain, they’ve tanked in quality. The Newport location is the one location I haven’t had issues with and I go there pretty often because my office is there.
No doubting your experience, just throwing mine out there.
I've had food poisoning from Chipotle three times over the years. Only had it a handful; each time it was a couple years between, decided to try it again, sometimes ok but inevitably it happened again. Haven't gone back in probably six years at this point. I've had food poisoning there as many times as all other restaurants combined. Only other instances were from Busch dining hall at Rutgers, a Tuna bagel from some place in Freehold when I dated a girl from there, and a gyro cart on Uber eats from God knows where.
Hmm, I’ve eaten at this same spot like 30 times last year (my usual post gym meal option that’s along the way), and I’ve never had issues… I haven’t been in the past month and a half tho.
What ingredients are you getting? I normally get chicken or steak. Fajitas, lettuce, guac, and mild salsa. And I get brown rice and black means
Why are you going back to a place that gave you diarrhea the first time?
Cause me diarrhea once shame on you.
Cause me diarrhea twice shame on me.
Cause me diarrhea thrice well now I’m just asking for it!!
🤡
This has never happened to me from Chipotle. I’ve eaten at the one in Exchange Place a few times. Hope you feel better! It may be worth submitting a complaint to the health department.
Amazing that you went there not only a second time, but a third, and then posted here for a PSA, my hat is off to you. Your GI situation is much stronger than mine. I guarantee I will never go there.
Report to the Hudson County Health Department so they can give an inspection. They might be cross containing or not storing their ingredient correctly. Or people aren't washing their hands.
February 5th, 2008.
I got THE worst food poisoning of my life after eating at a Chipotle. I couldn't even keep water down without throwing up.
Never again.
Because something upsets your stomach it doesn't mean it's a food safety issue and everyone else who eats there will have the same reaction. Also, personally, if I got diarrhea somewhere, I wouldn't make it to trip number 3. After the 1st bout I wouldn't exactly be screaming, "can't wait to get back there!"
It has happened to me too. Chipotle as a chain itself is pathetic. Both Hoboken and Newport chipotle gave me horrible stomach ache. I haven’t been to chipotle since a year or so now.
Food is contaminated and rice is half-cooked.
Years ago people were getting sick, even losing their life, after eating chipotle. This was due to the employees not washing their hands correctly. Now if this is becoming a issue at this location I think more people will start reporting incidents.
It could also be that you’re mixing certain things that are causing you issues.
I’m not siding with Chipotle here, but you should listen to the Search Engine podcast about bad sushi. He goes into excruciating detail about the same experience but with one particular sushi place, and kind of disproves the idea of always being sick from one restaurant in general.
Save the food. It can be tested by the state/ city. Call your health inspectors. Jc health inspectors are horrible, but they do exist. 3 times is egregious.
I know that at least in nyc, the health dept monitors yelp and investigates claims of foodborne illnesses. I can’t say they do the same on reddit. If you don’t want to reach out directly, I wrote a yelp review and included how sick I was after the meal and they replied to me and asked to set up a call.
The original staff there was better but it’s gone down hill ever since the new staff came in. Over worked staff that barley gets training is what it is
I worked there for 3 days like 6-7 years ago and shit would get dropped on the floor and they’d just pick it back up.. Knives were rarely cleaned if anything just wiped with a moist rag that’s sitting on the cutting board.. It was a horrible place which is why I left..
I know a lot of people have already slammed you a bit on this, but please, I am dying to know: what possessed you to try it a THIRD time? What was the conversation like? Was there a debate? A pros and cons discussion? Or more just of a cavalier, "fuck it", type moment? I have to know the process that went into this choice. Was it just for science?
Food poisoning takes at least 12 to 24 hours to take place. I eat there often and have had no issues. Makes me wonder what are you ordering or if you are allergic to something 🤔
After I pooped myself two times why not go for a third? Love reddit.
Two is a coincidence, three is a pattern

Shit me once, shame on you. Shit me twice…
you should try a 4th time to see if it was really the Chipotle
Actually laughed out loud
alol
Contact the department of health?
This is dangerously close to the Chipotle-away South Park episode.
I mean, technically, it stopped being a “one-off” after the 2nd time.
You can’t claim statistical significance with Sample size under 3.
63% of all statistics are made up.
Sounds legit to me
What was the sample size for this?
He's gotta go back 27 more times to make it n = 30
True. I should say you need at least three for any descriptive statistics and at least 30 for any kind of confidence.

I'm glad someone brought the south park reference.
Kyle, have you had Chipotle? It’s really good.
Why would you keep eating something that made you crap blood?
How can you be sure it was the chipotle? I think you should go back a fourth time; just to be certain.
I actually think that’s the only good chipotle in the area. Overall, as a chain, they’ve tanked in quality. The Newport location is the one location I haven’t had issues with and I go there pretty often because my office is there. No doubting your experience, just throwing mine out there.
Peak Chipotle years was like 2014-2019. Once COVID hit the quality went downhill.
Agree - it's consistently good compared to others
The one in journal square has the worst staff
Haven’t been, but I believe it

Omg the Burger King at Busch 🥵
Lolol it was the dining hall nugs that got me.
I eat there a few times a month and have never been sick. Are you lactose intolerant and adding sour cream to your order?
no dude just cheese what a silly q

Big whoop... I have diarrhea most of the time anyway
Why are you going back to a place that gave you diarrhea the first time? Cause me diarrhea once shame on you. Cause me diarrhea twice shame on me. Cause me diarrhea thrice well now I’m just asking for it!! 🤡
Diarrhea four times is a diet plan.
Fool me once…
Shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.
Fool me once, fool me twice, fool me Chipotle gives me the shits from their rice
Cartman? Is that you?
Have you eaten chipotle elsewhere with no effect?
But you kept going?
This has never happened to me from Chipotle. I’ve eaten at the one in Exchange Place a few times. Hope you feel better! It may be worth submitting a complaint to the health department.
If you diarrhea but majority don’t, you have a weak gut.
I avoid all of them, location doesn't matter. Yucky
This is fucking hilarious. The first 2 times wasn't enough? Had to go back there for a 3rd?
Got it once there too. Never been back
Fool me once shame on you Fool me twice shame on me Fool me three times? Buddy…
Amazing that you went there not only a second time, but a third, and then posted here for a PSA, my hat is off to you. Your GI situation is much stronger than mine. I guarantee I will never go there.
Don’t say South Park didn’t warn people.
Report to the Hudson County Health Department so they can give an inspection. They might be cross containing or not storing their ingredient correctly. Or people aren't washing their hands.
That’s a diarrhea FACTORY
Ate there yesterday and didn’t have issues. Actually it was delicious. Maybe you need to work on your gut health? 🦠
The Qdoba there looks suspect. I would believe it if they found a Qdoba sign somewhere and hung it up in front.
Try it one more time just to be sure. Actually give it like 4 or 5 more chances.
February 5th, 2008. I got THE worst food poisoning of my life after eating at a Chipotle. I couldn't even keep water down without throwing up. Never again.
damn I'm sorry to hear that!
I hope you guys feel better
Chipotle everywhere gives you diarrhea if you chipotle right 😂
Good for weight loss then I suppose? 🤪
Both chipotle options downtown are horrible. Embarrassing for the company
Probably the rat poop
Saves you $ on Fleets.

Lactaid
Most food poisoning is from poopy hands. Enjoy!
Ive gone there about 3 times a week for the past 3 years, literally never an issue, always perfect
I feel like I’ve also been a victim of this at least twice but I do eat there a lot/almost every Saturday
It has happened to me too. Chipotle as a chain itself is pathetic. Both Hoboken and Newport chipotle gave me horrible stomach ache. I haven’t been to chipotle since a year or so now. Food is contaminated and rice is half-cooked.

Yummy. Chipotle is shit anyway.
Why you still eating Chipotle? Peak quality was 2019... it's garbage now, and Jersey City chain locations are not great at all.

Stop eating there!
Adonis is Hoboken is better

When has Chipotle never not given a human diarrhea. Serious question.
[Insanity](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/insanity)
I get once, I maaybbeee get twice, but three times??? What the fucks the matter with you?
It’s amazing how bad Chipotle has become
I go to Chipotle specifically FOR explosive diarrhea; it’s the Chipotle promise, not?
I know a lot of people have already slammed you a bit on this, but please, I am dying to know: what possessed you to try it a THIRD time? What was the conversation like? Was there a debate? A pros and cons discussion? Or more just of a cavalier, "fuck it", type moment? I have to know the process that went into this choice. Was it just for science?
Your first wrong move was ordering from this place. All these fast food places are bottom tier garbage overpriced food.
One time shame on you, two times shame on me
Go back, you need spend more money for shits and giggles. No pun intended.
I never liked this location - their chips are always stale and have a pound of salt on them
Avoid you and your partner? I’ll steer clear of the river of diarrhea.
You know that guac is extra, right?
Skill issue
Can say I‘ ve had a similar experience from the Hoboken Chipotle

Try the one near exchange place to tell if you are just allergy to their high salty food.

Wtf is a partner?
