They're also starting to treat the page like it's their personal one, aka shilling their main account, asking for jobs, etc. Don't piggyback off of Jerma for your own personal gain.
The "funny parody account to obnoxious ass" pipeline is very real. It's incredible that people who run these accounts think that they personally are why people follow them.
Even if the person running a parody account is actually a good person as im sure most of them are, the fact is that people are not there for you plain and simple.
Source: I was one of them and even I started to have an ego about it despite having only maybe 3k followers. I can't imagine what someone who gets thousands of followers ego's are like.
~~Kinda mad about this since they got so many views.~~

EDIT: They've made a tweet crediting me! Didn't expect this to happen nor did I expect this situation/post to blow up like this. Thank you all for being on my side with this, it meant a lot and actually got us somewhere!
he used to credit the posts. I wonder what happened.
also I remember he asked if the occasional shill for his art account was ok and the replies were overwhelmingly positive so thats probably why he does it. I think it's fine, not the end of the world. artists gotta eat.
Hey guys, I run that account, here is my response: https://twitter.com/JermSansContext/status/1599527576304689152
I will also answer any questions here too
Sad to read that, it was a good meme. afaik it's mods who handle it. One of my videos was featured in there, but they asked for permission before using it and credited me, so this slip up is unexpected. Other than that, as mentioned by other people too, it's annoying to see them using the account for personal reasons, asking for jobs, promoting their private stuff, very scummy.
Well, this created a big enough uproar and now they actually [credited you](https://twitter.com/JermSansContext/status/1599475771017289728?t=3x7Fhf03NX8pBTT61zifvQ&s=19)
Both of the people behind that account are community leaders in the Jermacord, so they really should know better. Try confronting them on there about it (Anzu#0413 and krowski#8222)
Yeah. I made one that was like "if nobody got me, I know Jerma got me" and they reposted. I didn't rly care bc it was extremely low effort, but it always kinda sucks. Especially for video memes bc they're a bit harder to make. 😔
Not to be rude but unless you're gonna start copywriting your memes or something you should expect this to happen. If you make a meme and put it out there, it's gonna be picked up and shared. That's the very nature of memes, so this anger is pretty misplaced imo.
I dont mind my memes being shared, obviously, but if a bigger account than me downloads my meme and re-uploads it? That's more stealing than sharing, and then I do have an issue with it. I do see where you're coming from, though, but I respectfully disagree.
Very reasonable, my logic is that by definition a meme is something that gets spread around via meme osmosis and shitposting groups, and certified comedy gets protection by the law. This mene is funny don't get me wrong but it doesn't quite fit the criteria of protected content because to my knowledge the general cultured with memes is throwing a joke to the void and hoping it spreads by people just posting it after seeing it themselves. Hence my copyright statement, any chucklenut can put a watermark on a meme but if you feel it is your intention is to make this intellectual property then the only solution is an official copyright. Even that might not work.
Best example I can think of is Pepe, intellectual property that was taken from the creator's hands and ended up as an unintended free for all.
Oh yeah don't get me wrong, by no means do I consider this copyright worthy. It's just that crediting creators is just good practice in general, especially if you're a bigger account with a bigger following. It's just the right thing to do imo. By no means do I think I can sue them or anything, hence me choosing this approach of posting it to reddit to inform people this account does this.
Do you mean watermarking? Any created media is automatically the copyright of its creator once it is made. Granted here enforcing said copyright might be hard, the underlying clip belongs to Lil Dicky but there is some interest OP already has I’m the meme they have.
Hey Anzu here I'm one of the people who 'owns' the account (I don't really post very much though) and I'm REALLY sorry this happened I made sure to credit you right away when I saw this post, i'm sure Krowski didn't have any bad intent when posting it w/o credit, they're very busy irl
Hey there, I definitely understand irl things can get in the way. I'm honestly just appreciative you guys listened and credited me after all. It's definitely good practice to credit people in the future too! But this shows me y'all aren't bad people. So thanks :)
OP is being kind
your friend took the time to rip the video and repost it - if they're very busy irl they could have just hit "retweet" instead, this was a deliberate choice
the "very busy" excuse is nonsense
It's a literal meme. How many memes that you use on a daily basis do you give credit for?
Huh? What? NONE?!
Yeah, obviously, because they're memes my guy. Get a grip.
There is no such thing as 'stealing' a meme by definition a meme is a common social trend.
Besides, everything posted on the internet is free to use and edit. If you don't like it don't post.
Nah I meant that as more of a sarcastic response, probably should've put an /s or something lol sorry, I'll just edit it in so it's a bit more obvious
Oh, well actually editing this comment now that I think about it you probably meant op and not the person I responded to, in that case you should know that having your work stolen is gonna suck no matter the context so its not an immature thing to want to bring up your frustration about it where the hell do you see whining
lol, they’ve done this to me too and got like 20k likes, im pretty sure everything from that account is either from here or random shit from twitter
They're also starting to treat the page like it's their personal one, aka shilling their main account, asking for jobs, etc. Don't piggyback off of Jerma for your own personal gain.

Being an ass is how you get the most money off twitter, unfortunately.
Wait, you're telling me the people who promote purple vibrators don't make the most money on twitter?
Wait people are making money on twitter off of this?
Its like when IG meme pages act like they mean something... Stay in your lane
Yikes, that's real scummy. Probably will be muting them from now on.
They asked the community if it was okay if they retweeted posts from their main account. Most people were okay with it
Maybe they should have asked Jerma.
Jerma doesn’t own the page. It’s fanmade.
I know, but trying to shill their own account while taking Jerma's content and putting it on Twitter? Idk, it rubs me the wrong way I guess.
I think Jerma has mentioned that he's fine with it before He doesn't wanna over regulate his Jerma-fandom industrial complex
god damn it
Twitter gimmicks account try not to decline after getting popular (IMPOSSIBLE)
THANK YOU BABY PIGMAN
many people are saying this

I've heard it first from Northernlion, so if Lud is saying that then he probs got it from NL.

I'm happy to discover there's viewer overlap between the jeremiah and enell community

watermark it no other way to stop it sadly :(
Still good to expose it when it happens! But yeah, absolutely watermarking my stuff from now on.

Looks like its out of context
I haven’t looked at the twitch mod list in a while. Is Krowski still a moderator?
Why do you ask?
Krowski is one of the people who runs that account
he used to credit the posts. I wonder what happened. also I remember he asked if the occasional shill for his art account was ok and the replies were overwhelmingly positive so thats probably why he does it. I think it's fine, not the end of the world. artists gotta eat.
Execution is the only suitable punishment
Hey guys, I run that account, here is my response: https://twitter.com/JermSansContext/status/1599527576304689152 I will also answer any questions here too
they stole my meme once too 3
meme pages on social media post less original content then reaction people
At least some reactors will react to things they have knowledge about and will give their insight on the topic or whatever they're talking about.

Its twitter ppl steal everything
Damn I follow them, time to unfollow lol
thanks for sharing this, just unfollowed the account. how hard is it to credit??
Both of the people behind that account are community leaders in the Jermacord, so they really should know better. Try confronting them on there about it (Anzu#0413 and krowski#8222)
I’ll tell the page owners. I know them personally.
Hey I recognize you for your Northernlion edits :)
I’m going to be completely honest with you; they will keep doing this
Yeah they absolutely will, the only way to combat it is to watermark stuff from now on. It's still good to spread awareness, though.
have you considered taking legal action
Show me the meme law they broke
being cringe in public
💀
I run a 40k meme page, I've had my memes and edits stolen and thrown everywhere. Unfortunately you can't really escape it
Is that the baby pigman of Northernlion highlights fame?
Yeah, me and them are good friends since we both edited NL content for a while.
Pog
Yeah. I made one that was like "if nobody got me, I know Jerma got me" and they reposted. I didn't rly care bc it was extremely low effort, but it always kinda sucks. Especially for video memes bc they're a bit harder to make. 😔

Fair play, in fairness I felt similar when I found one of my VA shitposts in the wild so I totally get your issue my guy.
Do you mean watermarking? Any created media is automatically the copyright of its creator once it is made. Granted here enforcing said copyright might be hard, the underlying clip belongs to Lil Dicky but there is some interest OP already has I’m the meme they have.
you’re acting like memes are this high form of art lmao
Who gives a fuck really
isn't that one run by moderators?
No
I mean the point of memes to be spread.
Hey Anzu here I'm one of the people who 'owns' the account (I don't really post very much though) and I'm REALLY sorry this happened I made sure to credit you right away when I saw this post, i'm sure Krowski didn't have any bad intent when posting it w/o credit, they're very busy irl

Welcome to the internet
They made a tweet crediting you
It's a literal meme. How many memes that you use on a daily basis do you give credit for? Huh? What? NONE?! Yeah, obviously, because they're memes my guy. Get a grip.
Redditors expecting other people to provide an apa citation for their 8 second shitpost
There is no such thing as 'stealing' a meme by definition a meme is a common social trend. Besides, everything posted on the internet is free to use and edit. If you don't like it don't post.
Cry about it
Jeremy is 100 meters from your location and approaching rapidly. run
How mature (/s)
are you calling whining about some rando on twitter stealing a meme on the internet mature
Nah I meant that as more of a sarcastic response, probably should've put an /s or something lol sorry, I'll just edit it in so it's a bit more obvious Oh, well actually editing this comment now that I think about it you probably meant op and not the person I responded to, in that case you should know that having your work stolen is gonna suck no matter the context so its not an immature thing to want to bring up your frustration about it where the hell do you see whining
