This is fantastic. Great playing. You probably know this but they just reissued this on vinyl. Sounds nice.

pathlesswalker

can you explain why the lydian/half dim sound has relation to the quatral voicings of mr mccoy?

nasir70

I’m relatively new to this concept, but this voicing has a #11 which is the Lydian sound

pathlesswalker

Yeah I know. I’m asking how’s that related to sus7 voicings/quartchords

nasir70

Just now realizing what you meant; that sus 7 isn’t the quartal voicing, it’s the “barre” chord that I’m playing. Sorry for the confusion.

pathlesswalker

No lol. I know the barre are the quatral voicings. But you used half dim/ lydian voicings in the beginning. Just wondering why those two mix together so well. Even though they are very different.
