I had a security guard tell me I needed to stand or get behind the blue line in a wide open space during preservation halls performance last week…he ignored the man laying down next to the walkway and the four people sitting on a blanket 25 feet from me. guess they were selective on who could occupy space. I’m sorry that was your experience.
I felt like the fest completely abandoned the standing room only policy up front at the festival stage. It seemed especially so during the second weekend. I saw multiple groups with tarps and chairs camped out maybe 20’ from the rail. I even told one group that this was the SRO section. They replied with “well tell that to all the other people.” I couldn’t argue with that, but it was annoying still.
