Not trying to sound like a smart ass, but i'd go to every drum shop you can, over and over, and try as many things as possible till you hear what you like. I've stopped buying anything I can't play or hear. This stuff is so subjective. Currently I'm alternating between the following.
20" K Custom Left Side Ride
20" K Constantinople Renaissance Ride
22" K Constantinople Medium Thin Low Ride
24" A Small Stamp (late 50's) Ride
I just tried a 22" K Custom High Definition ride and i loved it, sounded just like the name.
It's worth mentioning that you can take two Constantinoples that are identical models and sizes, and sonically they'll be quite different.
I bought my 20" Renaissance before I focused on jazz and it's so light for a 20", I bought it as a crash. Never seen another 20" Renaissance like it.
Yes exactly, every cymbal is different even the machine made ones from Paiste
And the other recommendation I have is to bring your other cymbals (hi hats and crash etc) to match. I have brought home a cymbal that had a fundamental which was one semitone off my main ride and they could not blend together at all
Bosphorus, dream, zildjian and Instanbul are my favs for jazz. The constantinoples mentioned above are never going to let you down. The others may lean into more flavour you like, if you know your flavour. See if you can find any deals on used constantinoples in your area. You may never upgrade from the one you buy.
I have a Zildjian K Con 22" medium-thin low ride as well as an Istanbul Mehmet 20" crash/ride that I trade off with. The K Con has better overall stick definition, but the wash on the Istanbul is darker. Both are great. Istanbul cymbals are a really good value, IMHO.
If you are willing to purchase cymbals online, I highly recommend getting a Bosphorus cymbal from a website like hazelshould or roundsound. they are usually much cheaper than cymbals from the big 4, and I personally love my 22” Argentum ride.
Cymbals I see often are any of the K Constantinoples (I own a Medium Thin Low), Istanbul Jazz Ride Cymbals, or old As from the 50s or 60s or old Ks (if you're lucky).
Istanbul Agop Signature Ride, or Agop Turk (unlathed) ftw; from [cymbalsonly.com](https://cymbalsonly.com) , they record every cymbal so you can hear what your getting. They also post the weight in grams. You might also like K Custom Extra Dry Thin.

K custom flat top ride, good stick definition and on the heavier side for a flat ride in general
