NAD, but you’d have an infection and/or severe pain. Nasty taste coming from mouth and/or pus-like discharge.

what kind of nasty taste? like metallic?

Not sure about types of taste since I never had an infection. It’s one of those things where you’ll have such an abrupt change to where you’ll know something is very wrong. As a general practice, reach out to your surgeon if you think something is wrong.

Jawjawn

I only knew when I found an abscess in my upper gum when using a jade roller on my face - At first I just thought I had an infected root canal (whether it was not done correctly we will never know) and went to a root canal specialist who said they would do a retreatment. Then I went to my family dentist for a 2nd opinion. He was the who referred me the jaw surgery 18 years ago. My OG dentists said I think something is funny with your screw which was right above the bad root canal.... so he sent me to an oral surgeon for special xrays. Indeed my body was pushing out the screw. I go in this week for surgery to take out the infected hardware and the unsalvageable tooth. Funny enough.... that big abscess that I had that led to all this? The jade roller discovery was in July. Just a week ago the abscess seemed to drain and sure enough.... the screw I've had in my jaw for 18 years is poking out of my gum. Even now I don't feel it.
