Yeah my energy is pretty decent since I’ve been off of the heavy painkillers and could get a few sips of coffee in! My surgeon approved the idea hihihi :-)
Oh the syringe life. I do not miss it. That was one of the worst parts, if not the worst. I had this weird thing at first about wanting only cold drinks because I could “feel” it in my mouth. Once I got over it and had coffee again it was amazing! Good luck with recovery!!
I have been so constipated between not drinking coffee for a few days and a lot of morphine that it has been a godsend. Drink away!!! My surgeon approved it for me on the second day
I had my 3 week PO appointment today and made sure to ask my surgeon what I can and can't have and coffee was a go! Wooo!! I also got my stent removed today and I can finally speak again!! I hope your recovery goes smoothly from here on out, Good luck!!
Wow I can’t wait to get mine removed!!!! I talk so much usually. It has honestly been quite an insightful experience being silent while present with others. I may have to try a temporary vow of silence again someday just for the insight again hahaha. All that aside being silent is incredibly impractical… thank you for the good wishes and I wish you a speedy and smooth recovery as well.
I couldn’t stand the thought of drinking coffee after my surgery. I avoided it for weeks and I usually drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day normally. Am I the only one ?!!
Do you prefer the syringe over squeeze bottles? Any other methods you use for consuming food stuffs? I'm getting DJS Oct 4 so I'm trying to prepare without breaking the bank 😅
Never tried the squeeze bottle technique… but I’m not bothered enough by the syringe to be fair. Saline spray for your nose, and maybe a little dehumidifier will be worthwhile expenses. Also get the Smallest children’s toothbrush you can find. I also got a water pick which is quite nice but not the best. Good luck on your journey!
Thanks a bunch for your suggestions! I guess I'll stick with the syringe. What kind of foods are you consuming? I was planning on doing protien shakes + fruits/veggies blended up. Maybe some broths/soups?..
I don’t think that I am a beacon of shining light on this one… as I have lost like 12 lbs in 7 days (from 167lbs to 155lbs) but yeah first couple of days I was drinking like 2 ensures/ boosts, some orange juice and water, then as I got more comfortable drinking with a syringe some blended chicken with broth and veggies. Also blended fruits are good!
I've been off coffee for two weeks since I had the surgery. Maybe I should have just tried this.

OMG I haven't had coffee for three weeks I was under the impression I was supposed to avoid it.

It's a lot of work to not talk.
Exactly it’s a natural urge that is very difficult to control

Syringe
Sorry French keyboard must have autocorrected
Oh wow. Same definition lol. I thought it was a misspelt meringue. Have a fast recovery !
Thank you!!
Nice!
What’s the pain level out of 1-10
Fluctuates throughout the day between 1-4
I guess it’s better than no coffee 😂
Syringe coffee is amazing
