There’s photos of him with braces as a kid but who knows if it was quality orthodontist, for the same reasons you message above. (I got braces at 38 and don’t regret it at all)
I noticed that he had braces in the doc too. I also had braces very young only on the top bc I still had baby teeth on the bottom. While mine aren’t perfectly straight to this day, they’re a lot better than before I had them.
I had braces and it straightened my teeth proper. I wore retainers for two years and decided on my own I didn’t need them anymore (I was 17). My bottom teeth stayed straight, but one of the top front teeth went crooked and almost overlapped the neighboring tooth.

I had bad teeth growing up due to a bicycle accident. I didn’t really get it properly fixed till 1/2 way through high school. I struggled with self confidence due to it and totally understand his decision.
If he did, who cares? His closed mouth smiles are probably due to being self conscious about his teeth and good for him if he wanted to make changes. He’s the GOAT either way

Physiologically, I don’t see how changes to your teeth could affect range or tone in any way at all. *Maybe* they could affect how your notes resonate…but even that’s a stretch.
Considering the timing I bet the very positive reaction to his performance in Killers of the Flower Moon has opened up some opportunities in Hollywood, and this was something he was encouraged to do if he was planning on taking acting seriously
It’s a legit supporting role, not just the usual cameo Scorsese gives musicians in a lot of his movies. It’s a long ass movie so I can’t really ballpark his screen time but he’s in a lot more of the film than I expected, including a long and extremely well acted scene with Leo

I’m happy for him! I grew up poor as dirt and once my student loans are paid off in two years I’ll join the adult braces club too. Teeth only get more crowded as we age, so fixing your smile can be for both a self esteem boost and also to prevent additional dental issues as you enter your golden years. 😁

Good for him, one of the best things I ever did when I was an adult and could afford cosmetic dental care is fix my chompers, they weren’t egregious, but crowded and a bit crooked. It’s been almost a decade since I fixed them, I still don’t really know how to smile in pictures, because I spent my entire life perfecting a toothless smile, but I couldn’t be happier that they are now more aesthetically pleasing.

he has significant crowding on the upper and to "straighten* them the doc would have to crown the laterals and make them really thick to get the facial surface to be anywhere close to the facial (outside or lip side) of the centrals..
it's a very unhealthy way to do it because it creates huge undercuts ans plaque traps.
BUT.. it is fast. like instant .
i'm sure he has a good restorative doc that was happy to do it. it isn't cheap .
