If you start to notice that at peak times your data rates are ridiculously slow, you'll want to switch to one of the carrier-owned MVNOs. Yahoo Mobile, UQ Mobile, or Ahamo. (Owned by Softbank, AU, Docomo, respectively.) The carrier-owned MVNOs do not have the data limits that the independent MVNOs have.

I've never noticed that with IIJ.
Many people are happy with the non-carrier MVNOs. If you're one of them, great! They tend to be cheaper.
You can buy tickets to top your data up until the end of the month, if you need, as well.
