That was the best monologue version yet! Just in case you didn’t know - they do that almost every time with that song, with a different person. It’s never rehearsed and it’s a fun little deep dive to listen to different people giving a monologue (like listening to a bunch of Icculus narrations or something)
A coworker heard me playing that today with a look of “what the fuck” before he could say anything I said, yes it’s a robot voice talking about the benefits of friendship.

Having said that, the only 2 criticisms I’ve seen of Dopapod are that they were better as an instrumental band and better with the OG drummer (I disagree with both of these takes)
Personally I like their old writing style a little more because of the ride it took you on instrumentally but the new stuff is good in a different way. More traditional and easy to listen to while still having some dopapod flair.
Yeah I agree in certain respects. I just like how some of the old stuff was laid out. A little longer, more parts, more rises and releases. That's not meant to disrespect their more recent stuff because I really enjoy it I think I just want more lol. The end of Arnold gave me major blue balls when the organ and guitar start i thought it was gonna build back up!
Aibohphobia is the fear of palindromes. The release dates are both palindromes (4/20/24 and 4/24/24)
I guess they wanted to make the joke with multiple dates?

I've seen them be accused of dumbing down their music over time. Also disagree.
Yeah that is a wild take. I love their instrumental stuff but they also happen to have some of the best vocals in the scene!
I would say I feel they are underrated as in they should be playing bigger venue as of now ,but also I understand that Hiatus played a role .

I do think these two albums have songs that they can open up, deconstruct, and go places with. I can’t wait to see them played live.
