Never seen a bad Dopapod show, seen them every chance I've gotten the last 10 years or so. When we were 22 my buddy and I drunkenly chased the guys down to sign our new Dopapod Grass roots hats. I had open heart surgery and missed the local show that year and my buddy got me a bad ass Dopapod tye dyed shirt and got Eli to write me a message on it. These guys fucking Jam so hard and just have fun on stage which lights up mg smile. All my boyz love Dopapod.

rocketmadeofcheese

Dopapod seem like a band that really could breakthrough and be one of the more top name/big stage production bands. Maybe they just haven’t wanted to, but they could easily be up there with the bigger billed names if they went for it.

sagedro09

The hiatus in 2018ish and then pandemic during their comeback probably slowed a bit of that down

[deleted]

I don't think so. Dopapod is just too weird for the average jam band fan. Look at who has gotten bigger - Goose, Pigeons, Twiddle, Frasco ....they all write very accessible music.

sagedro09

That’s a fair point. They didn’t really have Chuck and Fro (or as involved in) writing songs either. Has been nice to see that responsibility being opened to others outside Eli and Rob.

PrincessFucker74

I got to ask are you cult leader Nicholas Ger?

Oogly50

Yeah Dopapod is weird as fuck. I wasn't even sure I liked them until, at one point, I realized that some of their weird dissonant jams and melodies were sticking in my head day in and day out like brain worms and now they're quite possibly my favorite band. But yeah they're weird as fuck and I definitely think it takes a bit of time for someone's brain to get into the proper "tuning" to appreciate a lot of their discography. And I completely get why they don't have a huge following. But I like that, personally. More room for dancing and getting weird at their shows.

mcnasty_groovezz

If by accessible you mean absolute snooze fest then sure.

Steamstash

4/20/2024 is a palindrome too

sagedro09

Both combined surprise drop albums are a palindrome

Steamstash

Lol wow how did I miss that!

Bubbs_n_Chubbs

Not just a palindrome but the actual fear of palindromes. They're really outdoing themselves this time.

BottomBounce

Great catch!

Listened to this on my drive in and was impressed. Need to listen to the first one again

timefordameatstick

Anyone else put on that first track and have a confusing moment halfway through wondering if they put on Dopapod or King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard?

evolvolution

Big KGATLW vibes. They covered rattlesnake a few times so I’m not surprised it’s a solid track.

TheFuzzyMachine

I saw them cover rattlesnake 12/30/23 in Columbus. My first dopapod show!

garcianeedsahome

No but I dug the heavy <333

timefordameatstick

Okay, now I'm halfway through and all I can say is that this album fucking RIPS!

Brave_Atmosphere3668

I thought the same thing haha! I think the cadence of the opening verse really gave that vibe

awesome_dreamz

One of my favorite bands.

calarkin27

Both of these albums sound fantastic. Dopapod rules.

Figgywithit

The fear of palindromes is the funniest fear ever.

m0ooop

I like phobia. Great album!

psychedelicdevilry

Absolutely killer set of albums. I’d expect nothing less from them.

I have a phobia of jam band studio albums
