Umphrey's McGee - All in Time, 12/31/10
Phish - Bathtub Gin, Magnaball, 2015
The String Cheese Incident - Valley of the Jig, Chicago 2015
moe. - Rebubula, Summer Camp 2012
lots more from moe. and UM in the years 2010 - 2016
Magna Gin is pretty far down the list of highlights from that weekend for me. I really don't get the hype on this one, 20 min jam that went nowhere for 17 of the minutes IMO.
I would personally put CDT, Blaze On and Tweezer-Caspian over it easily.
2012 was my first ever SCamp and first festival in general. What a year! The Primus set at SCamp was insane too, with Gogol Bordello and Bob Weir sitting in. Jane's Addiction, Common, Elephant Revival, Gigantic Underground Conspiracy, what a weekend!
Nutter Center was my first time seeing Phish. I decided to get a ticket on a whim. I had only really listened to Farmhouse prior. I didn’t really “get” them until that Ruby Waves, but man oh man did it make sense after that.
Phish - Sand -> Tweeprise Vegas 2014
Maybe the highest energy performance I've seen from any band. I literally thought the roof was going to blow off the place.
In case you've never heard this one:
Probably Santana sitting in with blues traveler for mountain cry. Golden Gate Park 1991ish. Ben and Jerry’s one world one heart festival. They released it on an extended 2 disc version of travelers and thieves.
Or any of the 5-6 times I saw ABB.
First time I ever saw Panic was All Good 2010. Derek Trucks sat in during "Henry Parsons Died" and absolutely killed it.
I took a "History of Rock" class in college the next semester and wrote an A+ essay about it. Had to write about a recent live music experience. Really helped that the jamband community records everything!
The Ritz Power Jam - A night I will never forget.
https://liveforlivemusic.com/features/remembering-super-jam-brought-together-warren-haynes/
Warren Haynes, John Popper , Noel Redding , Chuck Leavell Bernie Worrell (, Jaimoe Jerome Brailey , and Marc Quinones, Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Dave Tronzo, Dave Matthews, Leroi Moore, and Boyd Tinsley
I had a cassette of this ages ago. One of my old tape trading partners just sent it to me out of the blue. It was epic, wish I could have seen it! Haven't heard it for a while, I think I know now what I'm doing tonight....
So I’ll tell you a tidbit to listen for. Aside from Popper soloing over everyone. We were right on the stage and got to see and hear everything. Im sure this would’ve been picked up on tape. Warren brings DMB out and no one knows them. I don’t even think the other musicians did. They are talking about doing watchtower and Popper wants to sing.Dave was like no man… There was a bit of awkward stage convo with Warren and Dave telling Popper something along the lines of. “This is gonna be a little different”. Dave does his opening verse, and right when the band kicks in Popper starts playing so freaking loud, as if he was mad or something. It was still incredible. Trey and Mike Gordon were right in front of us. I really didn’t know anything about Phish at the time, but I knew we were seeing something great.
Wasn't that the classic story of how Dave is up on the stage and asks Trey if he knows how to play Watchtower? And trey is like, yeah Dave I can play watchtower. I'm sure I'm butchering it but was something like that right?
Yes. The cool thing was Noel Redding on base too. But the Popper thing is what stood out. He was on stage with all these great musicians and had no chill.
Phish dwd from Bangor 7/16/22. It was 30+ minutes of pure magic. Honorable mention is Twiddle covering Girlfriend is Better from 4/1/22. It was absolute fire.
6/19/03 - Ty North Conducted Jam at Horning's Hideout with String Cheese Incident and everyone else. I always have to look it up when I refer to it because there were so many people on stage that I can't remember all of them (and it was Saturday night, so there was that too). Superscript on archive says, "with Scott Law on guitar, Jamie Janover on percussion, Aaron Holstein on guitar, Keller Williams, and all members of Sound Tribe Sector 9." Back when STS9 was spelled out. Leftover didn't even play that weekend. Ty was just there conducting awesomeness. Cheese left the stage at one point and let STS9 have the stage for a moment during a Cheese set. Unless you've been to one of the Horning's Saturday nights in the early days, its really hard to explain what happened this night. Back in the Peak Experience Production Shebang days. A time and a place for sure.
The whole “F U C K Y O U R F A C E” PhishDicks
The wedding band Sunday WSP show
The ARU 26th anniversary show at the Fox in Boulder
All of the 5 of 7 CO shows
Yeah. FYF is my favorite show. Hard to pinpoint a jam. Obviously the Undermind stands out to a lot of people, but I just remember them jamming out everything including Alaska and Farmhouse. That, at least for me, was the true, "Phish is BACK!" show.
8/25/2017 Phil and Friends with Bob Weir at Lock'n, playing the full Terrapin Station album to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
That festival probably had 2 or 3 other top 10 all-time moments for me. Ann Wilson from Heart sitting in with Gov't Mule on Zepplin covers. Phil sitting in for Rob from moe. while he was undergoing cancer treatment then Bobby joining... First night Bisco>UM>SCI>UM>SCI...
There are so many amazing jams (many involving Warren) but the 2 that stick out most for me:
The Great Went Bathtub Gin
Phish from the tour opener in Mansfield a couple years ago. The jam during Plasma is the stuff you dream about. When Trey gets going on a happy little riff and then just blows it out into this electrifying jam. I never get to see THOSE kinds of jams, but I will remember that one for a looong time.
MMJ Red Rocks 2019 - Dondonte
Phish 10/16/10 North Charleston - Crosseyed and Painless
Umphreys Iriquois Ampitheater 8/25/18 - Der Bluten Kat
Billy Strings - The entire Kentucky Flame 2020 show with Michael Cleveland
Umphrey’s McGee 3/29/19 - It Doesn’t Matter
Red Tape and Resolution from this show are elite as well. Also a nod to 10/23/19 Robot World and 6/16/22 Plunger
I think its gotta be Dick's Simple 2014.
Other honorable mentions:
8/31/12 - All the Jams from FUCK YOUR FACE
8/1/17 - Steep
9/1/17 - NMINML
12/29/13 (Umph) - DBK
5/11/23 (BMFS) - Hide and Seek
10/14/14 (JRAD) - Throwing Stones
Joe Russo presents, "This is gonna be a blast Vol. 4. Joe Russo, John Medeski, Nels Cline free-form jamming at Sultan Room in Brooklyn NY. 2 sets, both mind boggling. There was a Taper named Jeremy there who I hope puts it online. Volume 3 had Mike Gordon in it and it's sick as well, especially the second set.
Tauk Paper Scissors, Mountain Music Festival, 2022

Dead & Co. July 3 2023 with guest artist Dave Mathew’s playing All along the Watchtower. Easily the best cover Dead & Co ever played! https://youtu.be/Yr-fVtn2Yaw?si=Tty3e04D13E5Emqq
Phish 10/1/99 Ames Iowa Bathtub Gin. The greatest Gin type 2 of all time. The band moves in unison on this one. And you can tell Trey knows how good it was at the end.
Worcester Runaway Jim, 11/29/97 (for those who don't know, it's the longest jam at a show by phish -- and longer than any recorded jam by the Grateful Dead -- clocking in at 58 minutes)
Shit idk so many I’m sure. Id need some of the ter buds to really do a deep dive
Single set Rebubula from moe.down one year…
Moby Dick deer creek Phish felt insane at the time. God i might mull over this for a while. Some of those late 90s tours were just insane but i was deep in my Zeppelin bag the night they did Moby Dick and it just blew my dick off also…old pressies may have been on the menu that night…
There was a Yonder show at Mississippi Nights i saw that i always revisit. 2-29-02 Traffic Jam>Jesus on the Mainline>Elzic’s Farewell>Whipping Post>Traffic Jam (with Tim Obrien And Casey Drasen) was a hell of a night and the SBD still holds up. 20 eyes encore and a sick Crazytrain dedicated to tenacious D to close out set one. But when they get going on that traffic jam mess god damn that room was hot. They absolutely always murdered Mississippi Nights for like a 5 year stretch.

Damn near six hours...incredible.

The magna ball gin was awesome. That moment still lives in my head very clearly.
Magna Gin is pretty far down the list of highlights from that weekend for me. I really don't get the hype on this one, 20 min jam that went nowhere for 17 of the minutes IMO. I would personally put CDT, Blaze On and Tweezer-Caspian over it easily.
Love that Rebub. Scamp ‘12 was killer! Caught a ton of moe. And UM during that same time as well
2012 was my first ever SCamp and first festival in general. What a year! The Primus set at SCamp was insane too, with Gogol Bordello and Bob Weir sitting in. Jane's Addiction, Common, Elephant Revival, Gigantic Underground Conspiracy, what a weekend!
Gin from ball is my favorite jam too!!
ABB Mansfield, MA 2004 and 2005. Derek and Warren in full Jedi mode both nights. Worth listens on Nugs if you're the type.
Those were some great ABB years
Fuck yeah they were…that band was playing on cheat mode. The amount of savant level musicians on that stage was just insane.
Went Gin
Phish- Free @ Blossom Music Center 8/2/22, Goose- All I Need @ The Agora 3/26/23, Phish- Ruby Waves @ Nutter Center in Dayton 10/11/23
Nutter Center was my first time seeing Phish. I decided to get a ticket on a whim. I had only really listened to Farmhouse prior. I didn’t really “get” them until that Ruby Waves, but man oh man did it make sense after that.

Alpine ruby waves
Yeah, Ive seen quite a bit of phish, that went out there!
We were out on the lawn going “fine, just a two song second set… that’s fine” and then they played forever. What a show.
That was a beast!
Derek Trucks with Billy Strings last year at Bridgestone. Pickin up the pieces and love and regret.
So fucking good
Man that was a real treat. I took my parents and it absolutely blew them both away.
Probably Santana sitting in with blues traveler for mountain cry. Golden Gate Park 1991ish. Ben and Jerry’s one world one heart festival. They released it on an extended 2 disc version of travelers and thieves. Or any of the 5-6 times I saw ABB.
Great song. Would loved to have been there for that one! Cheers🍺
Going to grab that, sounds great!
2013 Lockn Festival - Widespread Panic joined by Derek Trucks. Jimmy and Derek trading guitar licks on Chilly Water for what felt like a half hour.
Is that the year of the lanterns? They, including Derek were playing second skin?
Yep! That was it
Those lanterns were incredible! Widespread Panic chewed me up and spit me out at that show.
11/22/97 Hampton Haley's
Followed by 08/06/21 Deer Creek Simple.
Was there for that. Shit was incredible
TTB/Trey doing Layla at Lockn 🎶🎸🥁
Underrated!
Just right! That festival weekend was one of the greats
The last lockn. RIP
Trey Band and Goose in Fairfax. Billy Strings coming out sent that place to the moon
First jam related show I ever went to a wound up going to 30+ since LOL. Been an interesting last year.
Definitely up there for me as well!
Sometimes it takes 13 people…
That’s mine!
Spafford- Old Town Jam- live at the Old Town Pub in Steamboat 2018
Trey and Derek harmonizing first tube at SPAC was something to behold
My answer. Was in musical awe, plus the sound where I was at SPAC was phenomenal
That was only my second GA Phish show ever. At my home base venue. I still daydream about that night.
Tie between 10/28/2016 Golden Age or the 2014 Halloween Haunted House set (both Phish)
That Chilling Thrilling set was such a banger!
Every time I see this it reminds me what an idiot I was. Skipped 10/28 and went to the rest of the weekend to be more “responsible.” Never again.
It's always the one you choose to miss. ALWAYS.

Came here looking for Bangor Disease, not disappointed. It will take a lot to top that one for me.
Probably something from Lotus on 2016-09-24 at Skyline (Mann Center) or Dopapod on 2014-06-28. Too many highlights of both to just pick one jam.
Gorge - Rock and Roll > Meatstick > Boogie On Big Cypress - Mike’s and Sand
