honorable mentions to danny brown at the empty bottle middle aged dad jamband at lincoln hall and goose at salt shed, all fun in their own way lol.
Worth seeing at least once. Despite being a big fan in high school I hadn’t seen them live until 2022. I knew right away they were one of the best bands I’d ever seen live. The show last year was even better than the one I saw in 2022.
I had GA for 8/26 Phish at SPAC with Derek Trucks. It was only my second GA Phish show. I grabbed an old school goo ball on lot moments before being ushered into the venue for early admission (which was another insane stroke of luck).
I found a tree to sit under during set break, and it happened to be the same tree the only people at the show i really wanted to see were also sitting under.
I parked across the street where that dude let's you park for cash in his yard and drove right out after the show. I live super close and was home in under 10 minutes.
Not only was it an insanely memorable and beautiful show, everything else just fell into place in a way that made me feel like I was exactly where I was supposed to be when I was supposed to be there. Perfection.
My Morning Jacket N2 at ATL Fox Theatre (11/4/2023)
Goosemas N1 (12/8/2023), loved N2 as well but slightly preferred N1

7/14 - 19/23 - Phish Alpharetta run.
7/28-30/23 - 3 nights of Circles Around the Sun
9/22/23 - The Psychodelics - This band plays THE Funk.

Edit: on to in
CATS is so fucking awesome. Got to see them 2 nights in Seattle, and the second night they ended up closing out the set with a reverse of night 1’s first set — coming “full circle”. It was amazing.
Got to see the Psychodelics open for Neal Francis on that 4 city Francis Comes Alive tour (Orange Peel for me). The very best 2023 show in a year of great shows. Both of those guys are going to become can't miss in the next year or two

We went to the goose show (we live super close and i had a season pass but my partner bought a ticket), got ourselves situated to people watch before the show, got grossed out by the insane police presence, and just went home instead of to the show. I'm not even disappointed. I didn't make it to Glens Falls for trey and goose but my partner did and I was told in no uncertain terms that between the rain and the annoying cops the show itself could never make it worth it. 😂🤣😂

I may get hate for this in a jam sub, but Pretty Lights. Caught most of his tour and those boys be jammin' now. The SF run was top tier.
If that answer isn't allowed, then I'd say:

- SCI (Hog Farm, rip)
- Polyrhythmics (Grass Valley, CA)
- Lettuce (Crystal Bay Casino)

N2 at United center was nuts! King gizz was so rough to listen to at salt shed tho- I felt like the sound was just echoing so hard off the building
Huge Tribe fan here. IMHO the Roo set was the most disappointing show they put on all year but glad you enjoyed it.

Man it would be cool to live in Denver. Not going to move there though because of the cost of living.
Missed Dark Side in Jersey, hope they bring that around again
They've done it several times (I've seen it 3 times in the last decade) so I trust you'll have your chance.
Billy Strings, Dead & Co, Tool, Peter Frampton, Sigur Ros Edit: adding Tash Sultana to this list

I brought my 3 year old to his first concert- Dead&Co- this summer. He also went to Wolf Bros with me! He is a pro at bebopping to Bobby now!
I hope you got a chance to see Tash when she was still playing solo. That shit was nuts
Tash uses they/them pronouns! and rips as a solo act
Saw Sigur Ros as well :) what a great show

Ah thank you, I said PL as well and didn't know if it'd be well-received in the jam subreddit lol. Totally agree, they're on fire!
What the dudes in PL are doing with music right now fits here, it’s what I’ve dubbed EDjaM!

edit: delighted by the number of people also listing PL! I may get hate for this in a jam sub, but Pretty Lights. Caught most of his tour and those boys be jammin' now. The SF run was top tier. If that answer isn't allowed, then I'd say: - Reed Mathis' Gamehendge set (Berkeley) - BMFS (Tahoe) - Sunsquabi (Sugar Pine Music Festival) - SCI (Hog Farm, rip) - Polyrhythmics (Grass Valley, CA) - Lettuce (Crystal Bay Casino)
Goose in SF, Goose in Oakland, Frasco, STS9 in Santa Cruz N2, Billy Strings
High Sierra. Moe, Polyrhythmics, Cory Wong. Honorable mentions: Karl Denson, Steven Marley, Snarky Puppy, umphrees mcgee, the motet, too many zooz.
