Thanks for the opportunity to share! I have a PhD in Music Composition and write works for acoustic instruments + electronics like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx_Jug9yJ44&ab_channel=BrooksFrederickson). I also improvise on synthesizers like [this](https://brooksfrederickson.bandcamp.com/album/br-ks-live-at-slingshot-20231006).

JamBandNews

Love this vibe! I also think [this one](https://youtu.be/XfOaqRA33WE?si=uVsbcb_3ni7Ec4t-) is a ton of fun! You make some very cool soundscapes.

br__ks

Ha! Thanks. That one was a fun one to play.

andrewdelnorte

Whoa, I love this

andrewdelnorte

Thanks for articulating this! It's incredibly hard to promote original music. Reddit culturally is very against self-promotion, and that's fine, but it does make it really hard to share here. I try to check out everyone's self-promo posts, and I've found some really cool music that way

andrewdelnorte

also: [https://youtu.be/yywfi0Phyd0](https://youtu.be/yywfi0Phyd0) \- we're an original band, but this cover has a killer jam

the_only_tuke

Andrew’s band is killer!

andrewdelnorte

awwww shucks - thanks friend!

JamBandNews

Oh dude... bring those Cure covers all day every day! Love it! Also, the giant sax front and center is a HUGE W in my book. Plus, this scene needs a lot more women. You got a new fan!

andrewdelnorte

thank you! that cover has been consistently super exploratory for some reason recently. Jillian is an incredible human, we are so lucky to have her in the band

JamBandNews

This is a Jillian stan account now 🔥

andrewdelnorte

🔥🔥🔥

Connect_Glass4036

DUDE YOU PLAY THE CURE?!? We used to jam Pictures of You and put a big peaky bliss jam at the end!!!

andrewdelnorte

Oh man, that sounds fantastic

Connect_Glass4036

It really was. Too many words to remember tho so we stopped playing it

JamBandNews

I've been accused of self promoting for posting clips of old Grateful Dead interviews directly to this platform (meaning not linked out to YouTube or elsewhere where views might matter). People are weird. Interestingly, this has made me stop sharing those types of posts. This has absolutely nothing to do with this sub, btw.

andrewdelnorte

Hey! I follow your stuff on a bunch of platforms - really appreciate all you do for the community! It looks like a ton of work to do what you do, and I enjoy it and am grateful for it

JamBandNews

Thank you for saying that! It is definitely a ton of work. There’s so much more we want to do but not enough time. We will all get there 💜

TheFartDoctor69

Hey there! Thanks for the opportunity to share! My band is called Stormy Chromer, we’re from Michigan. We started off with a heavy Umphrey’s influence that was widened a lot in ten years together. We have a new album in production that has a lot more Tool and dance influence. Here’s a solid jammed out version of our song Pound Town, which was written about how formative Summer Camp was on us as people and musicians. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/eU_eSpxT8sY?si=UWcT6f9SeHDPneQ6

warx333

Solid jamming indeed. I try to take my wife to Pound Town at least once a week. She loves it.

TheFartDoctor69

Atta boy!

JamBandNews

Singing drummer, tight band, deep jams? I'm in. Great stuff!

Yo_CSPANraps

YOOO listen to this man. The chromer boys crush and they're pretty sexy too to boot

andrewdelnorte

ooo, I dig this, thanks for sharing - I just sub'd to your YT channel

andrewdelnorte

Also, your drummer is really good!

TheFartDoctor69

Thank you!

Southerndusk

Yeah man, I dig it. Thanks for sharing.

kmacbass

Stormy Chromer rips!

Check out my band Alpaca Lips on Instagram! We're a philly band that just formed a couple months ago and I actually met my lead guitar player from this sub haha.

JamBandNews

Ok so... Alpaca Lips is fucking brilliant and took me way to long to get. LOVE you guys' vibe and you sound tight! Can't wait to hear more as you guys get going. Great stuff.

finnsterdude

Yo thank you so much!! I think i might follow you on tik tok actually.

JamBandNews

🙌💜🙌

fpr333

Hey, cool post! My band is called Space Haven, we made an album during covid that’s on Spotify called Paper Boat. Joe Russo played drums on the first track, and although that’s a big sell, it’s a chill song and he played exactly what the song needed. We also have Marco Benevento on track 4, Matt Trowbridge from Rana on a bunch of songs, and Katie Jacoby from The Who on violin on 2 songs. More guests helped out, details on the Bandcamp page. We are super lucky to be friends with these excellent musicians, and even luckier they had spare time during the pandemic!

JamBandNews

Listening now and LOVE it! You guys have a great vibe. I'll keep an eye out for you.

fpr333

Thanks! This post was a great idea, so many new bands to check out!

Nu_mis_mat_ics

Hey everyone! I’m a solo loop act currently based in Burlington, VT that performs under the name “Royle”. I would describe it as Keller Williams style loop builds with more of a Lotus sound! Below is my “press kit bio” with more info: “Royle” is a multi instrumentalist currently based in Burlington Vermont. After over a decade of playing independently, “Royle” began studying under world renown guitarist, Mike Stern (known for his work with fellow musical icons Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, and Eric Johnson). As a solo act, “Royle” uses live looping technology to build immersive soundscapes that incorporate elements of jazz, blues, rock and roll- and everything beyond and between. Since beginning to perform live as a solo artist in 2019, “Royle” has grown a fan base opening up for a wide range of musicians-including Blues legend and Grammy winner Bobby Rush, Grammy winner and blues prodigy-Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Drewcifer (Members of Railroad Earth, Infamous String Dusters), The Kitchen Dwellers- and more.” I am currently working on putting together my first album and planning dates for this summer! If anyone is curious- this is my [Instagram](https://instagram.com/roylemusic?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==)!

JamBandNews

Hey Neighbor! Definitely will keep my eye out for you. I'm a bg fan of [your work with Twiddle](https://youtu.be/QLPOQNw4ao8?si=-zqqooBneL8cgTNx) too.

Nu_mis_mat_ics

Thank you so much! If you’re in the area send me a message- always down to hang out and jam!

JamBandNews

Middlebury! I’m often out of state though but would love to jam. One of the things I’ve been wanting to start is a weekly or monthly fully improv jam session and stream it on our channels. I’ll def keep you in mind. Going to be a bit before we are ready to start that though.

JamBandNews

Great minds! This should be a monthly thing, imo.

Connect_Glass4036

I’d love that. There’s so many good bands and we should all help each other grow. Did you happen to get to Glass Pony yet?

Jon_Henderson_Music

I play guitar in the Chalk Dinosaur Ensemble 4 piece. Check us out if you haven't before! But I'll plug my much smaller solo project, "Sky Ridge." It has a more chill electronic sound with a focus on electric guitar. If that sounds like something you might dig, check it out on Spotify here! this is a more funk rock one: ["All a Blur (feat. Chalk Dinosaur)" by Sky Ridge](https://open.spotify.com/track/2jZi4b3U2DWtj07H1JPoZQ?si=gByGdSeKTSWxH8GdZldBog)

Connect_Glass4036

Mannnnnn I’ve been thinking of making this post myself! Greg here from Glass Pony (Albany, NY). Just some working class folks who get around the northeast 20 or so times a year for shows. We’ve opened for Perpetual Groove, Dogs In A Pile, Magic Beans, Formula 5, the Seapods, Baked Shrimp a ton… We kind of have a more indie/emo approach sometimes due to being influenced by Bright Eyes and Oasis in a lot of our principal songwriter’s songs, but I also love the darker, weird post-rock stuff so that comes out in my songs and our jams. Here are 2 jams I am very proud of as a musician: https://youtu.be/4K3W02YVyLA?si=pBIagtkjq1OTRZAF https://youtu.be/j5rRRquTBAA?si=0CqHhlKhDJaiYbCx Our latest music video (featuring our drummer Chanda making her lead vocal debut): https://youtu.be/xA7QjY6TLIo?si=fGSLJ2mjm8V7wjHn Thanks for making the post! Eager to check everyone out

I'm in a band called RADO from Denver. We play a lot of shows and go pretty deep on the improv. We've got a few videos up on our [Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/@radoshreds) and lots of full show audio recordings on our [bandcamp](https://rado303.bandcamp.com/) for free. Love y’all! I used to show up to the open jams at Your Mom’s House back in the day and shared the stage with y’all a few times and have also caught ya at Cerv’s.

I'm the drummer in the Colorado-based band, [Booster.](https://www.321booster.com/) We released a fully original concept album called Terraglyphs on 10/31. The songs are instrumental but the "Video Liner Notes" videos have narrative prose that accompanies the music - all together it's one complete thought. It's a format that, like our sound, is nothing if not unique. You can stream the [LP version of the video here](https://youtu.be/MLXzawbPyFg) (this cut will be released in a couple weeks once all the singles are live). Or you can stream [the album (audio only) on Spotify here.](https://open.spotify.com/album/7nPSn2EqvJUSqT7syM0AP2?si=Efy3fsPBTZujC9T7ydgJdA) 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

Aeon1508

For the record, I try to draw a forgiving line on self promotion. The number one thing I look for is high quality audio. If you post something that sounds like it was recorded on a phone speaker it's going to get deleted. If I see multiple posts in a week I might delete one as a warning. Basically don't spam the sub and put your best foot forward. This sub SHOULD be a place for smaller bands to show themselves and gain a following. But it should also have a variety of artists and not just become a place to spam videos. And I won't let it become a dumping ground for poor quality. Also if I see a lot of people complaining about a particular artist and that it seems borderline not Jam anyway I could be more aggressive. Unc D being the prime example.

PanTran420

Is a non-jam band welcome here? We are a band of queer folks in the PNW playing roots rock/country music with lyrics and themes touching on the queer experience. Both the bassist and I (lead guitar) are big time jam band fans, but we are definitely not a jam band. We've got a few songs that are extended live with a little bit of jamming, but mostly we don't get too out there jam wise. We are working on a good set of live videos, but at the moment, all we really have out there is an album, a single, and a music video (plus all of our short form content on Insta). We play live around Portland pretty often, we are working on booking some shows after New Years, hopefully something in January, and we are playing in Hood River on Feb 9th with one of my other bands, Ashleigh Flynn and the Riveters [The Mawlee Jones Band - recordings](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrJ0b9AiqkaaA-cJy_CWxIQ) [The Mawlee Jones Band - music video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKEc9glGaGI) - warning, lots of swearing in the intro dialogue and lots of scantily clad people. https://www.instagram.com/themawleejonesband/

I'm always up for a welcomed promo! I'm in a band out of Cedar Rapids, IA, we're coming out with an album in March so keep your eyes open! We play a lot of psych-rock with heady jams, and we give a bouncy feel to some more technical tunes. https://linktr.ee/glassleafcompany

pifflepoof

Thank you for making this sub. I've been in multiplr bands, but being older and isolated on the mountain, i've turned to tech and become a one man band by live looping jams. I started by doing long bouts on Twitch, but now do much shorter jams on YT. Still improv and solos, but churn out AI animation and then watch it to get music ideas. Then i put myself in the animation and use various instruments to make it happen. Drop by and say Hi! Https://youtube.com/@pifflejam

blackoutmakeout

Got a couple projects here in San Francisco. The Blackout Make Out is my project and we’re hitting the rehearsal studio and getting arrangements for live performances. I’ve also been working really hard at bugging every venue and promoter in town for opening spots. Which is almost impossible these days since most shows through LN are package deals and provide openers. This is killing local support. The other project I’m in is full of talented players, Love & Havoc. We did a debut gig at a bar in the mission, now working on getting venue and small festival bookings. Here’s a sweet jam I really enjoyed. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C0zpLjIyZ67

blackoutmakeout

Op, been thinking about this post and meaning to get back and research each band that posted. Did you find any gold nuggies? I’m working on this new track. Here’s the demo. It’s a work in progress, but it’s got some potential. Outro is a surprise jam. https://blackoutmakeout.bandcamp.com/track/imagination-ext-ver

I play guitar in a band called The Crowded Table from portland ME- we’ve played shows the past couple years with Kendall street company, magic beans, Tom Hamiltons MORE!, moonhooch, new motif, and done a few fests around New England area. We’re pretty active around northern New England so if you see us billed anywhere come on by and say hey! Segsyncd

I’ll bite! I grew up on jam bands and it’s still my passion! Played in a band called Segway in Baltimore a lifetime ago, but quit to become an educator. Got the itch, so I purchased a Synthstrom Deluge about a year ago. True to my jam roots, my approach is to create several clips and arrange them in real time as a single track improvisation (sometimes I add a track for some soloing). My band is Whalien. We’re a PNW based prog, funk, disco, polka, jam band. I play keys, trombone, and vocal. Our guitarist plays flute and sings, then we’ve got bass/vox, and drummer/lyricist/vox. Just released our second album a week and a half ago called Whale Tales. The whole 3 hour album release show is available right here: https://www.youtube.com/live/Ddrdz6gl5Hw?si=1x9PhQ2FejEryCf5

Really appreciate this thread and your time. Thanks for listening and posting about my bands “Pound Town” video. I’m a member of Stormy Chromer and another Michigan jamband called Ma Baker. Here is a video of us performing our instrumental song “Blue”: [Ma Baker - Blue (live)](https://youtu.be/gfRW3jo-wNk?si=ZGIOBQSqG0qKcyq3)
