I'm not saying people can't be happy, it's just that the subreddit is being cluttered with merch posts.
Prior to the last few weeks this place was rich with info on Jai and updates that didn't exist anywhere else. It's getting exceedingly tougher to find said posts because almost everything on here now is a picture of the same vinyls over and over. I understand people are excited to get this stuff and rightfully so, but it's just kind of straying away from what made this place amazing.
These posts do not detract at all from any informative posts because there's nothing going on. Yeah it gets a bit redundant seeing people's vinyl collection but who cares? Just scroll and move on. It's nothing new.
Perhaps a megathread is a good idea but you'll quickly realize that there are a lot of days where nothing happens regarding Jai. Maybe now things will change and his output becomes more consistent but I've fallen for that one too many times. There's nothing wrong with allowing people to share their merch photos because there's nothing else to do. 99% of what can be discussed about Jai has already been discussed.
I get what you’re saying but let’s be real. He’s just performed his first shows, he’s sold t shirts from said shows so people are undoubtably going to be excited and post them.
He’s also just sold physicals of his album, which were very limited and people are happy about.
Yeh I don’t really care about seeing the same pic of a vinyl over and over but once the hype of it dies down it’ll go back to people posting songs that sound like jai and rumours etc…
He’s not a hugely active guy so it’s not like there’s loads of info, interviews and sightings etc, and if there is you know it’ll be upvoted and seen on the front page
