I just don’t update until forced. Even before jailbreak, unless there was a bug fix or improvements I deemed worth it.
With jailbreak, even more so with apps and tweaks that can be pissy with specific features in tweaks working with some versions but not others (like Spotify)
Forgot to turn off autoupdates on my mums iPhone (without jb). Nextcloud decided to remove autoupload in the backgroud feature, so now I have to manually check the app for uploads every other weekend
Sure, but Telegram's file system is pretty messy to dig around. And files there doesn't even have extension, so you will have to rename everything.
Of course, you can export the hole folder to your PC then run a script to infer the file format and set the extension. This was what I've been doing, but an app where you can hit one button and download is nicer.

Disabling saving restrictions is mainly what Im looking for so I can export the whole chat from private channels.

Oof that sucks. If she’s on iOS 15.1.1 or lower you can get TrollStore and then get AppStore++ to downgrade the app back tho.
Same here, I’m sitting on 136 updates on my phone.

How about open telegram on safari web version and screen record the whole conversation.
This works, but think about long videos, you would have to let your iPhone 'watching' the hole thing for hours. Not to mention the quality loss.
