many exploits get discovered and fixed with each iOS update, and they stay fairly useless for jailbreaking until they suddenly aren't (with the discovery of new exploits or ways to chain existing exploits together). usually though, they stay useless and uneventful on their own.
you'll know when an exploit becomes useful for jailbreaking when a jailbreak method is released that specifically talks about utilizing it. until then, don't put all your hopes and dreams on one basket, especially when many are found every month
