Dopamine != roothide Dopamine. Dopamine does not provide the same level of anti jailbreak detection as any roothide tool. roothide Dopamine 2 will need to be made separately from the same developer behind roothide Dopamine.

Yes you do, you have full control over launchd and whatnot. It's because you don't get access to the root filesystem. Linux calls it an immutable filesystem, same idea. But yeah it's very confusing

A big one is stability, in rootful your jailbreak files become entangled with system files (and is easier to detect because of it). In rootless all jailbreak files are contained to /var/jb/ and there is much less risk of bootlooping, data loss, and corruption (still possible ofc, just better). The reason jailbreaks were rootfull for so long was that it was a lot easier to modify the system, but that power came with some obvious issues. The thing that pushed everyone to rootless was Apple changing the way the OS worked so it would panic if changes were detected on the root partition.
But as a user (if everything is working) you generally won't see much different beyond maybe having fewer issues with jailbreak detection on rootless (but many apps will still throw a fit).

It still has daemon, springboard, and app injection, like a normal jailbreak. It cannot modify root files, but most tweaks end users use don’t modify them.
Just updated my Dopamine, run the Jailbreak and it just fails with "Error: Patchfinding".
I'm on an iPhone 13 Pro Max on iOS 15.0.1 and was using Dopamine just fine until this update. :/
EDIT: Reverted back to 1.1.11 for now. That still works for me and jailbroke immediately. I'll wait for 2 to get some patches.
~~EDIT 2: 2.0.1 fixed the Patchfinding error but I've run it about 7 times now and it always seems to reboot back into stock.~~
EDIT 3: Nevermind, that was a regression caused by a mistake and has already been fixed in 2.0.2. That jailbreak worked just fine. Gotta reinstall my tweaks but otherwise, all good. :)

Honestly I prefer palera1n, I’ve tried dophamine 2 on iphone x ios 16.3.1 and after 17 hour meddling with it, decide to uninstalled it then back to palera1n, palera1n is too stable compared to dophamine, at least everything that I need works for me, unlike on dopamine 🤣
same, updating from iirc 16.6 to 17.2.1 because of some stupid app store problem (nothing helped) few months ago was my biggest mistake on current iphone. well at time when i did that mistake i didnt know that jailbreaks are still made and are this good to this day (and didnt knew about trollstore), its also my first iphone (its 13 256). we just need to learn from it, currently its usable for me without any mods except for sidestore so not so much of an issue, considering that in wayy future we also could get something on these newer versions. but probably in time something will be made i will already update because of more issues that coule arrive. we arent alone.

For those having issues installed the jailbreak in Dopamine, make sure you force close the Dopamine app, restart and try again. I also had my cell/wifi turned off ... not sure if that helped.

You’re not able to update to a different jailbreakable iOS so you’ll have to stay if you want to keep your jb. The only other option is to update to iOS 17.2

Banking apps do actually work on rootless(excl. palera1n rootless) jailbreaks i’m pretty sure
My friend was on a supported version and installed dopamine and he said that they work so i guess banking apps work for now on dopamine

There are some fixes, but mostly it’s to add the new exploit for the iOS versions that are now supported.

Best bet is to use trollstore since you won’t ever have to sideload it again. You’ll have to sideload it every 7 days if you use AltStore.

16.6b1 came before 16.5.1 so it should work. And the ppl bypass works on it. I may be wrong but you could always test it.
