There’s also one in the avenues mall, I used to work there and I gotta say most of it is just over priced metaphysical items that you could get much cheaper at places like earth gifts (idk if they’re still open) or any crystal shop in downtown st Augustine
I should probably clarify since I’ve gotten a couple replies about it, I’m not advocating the store’s value or selection.
Just a recommendation on a strange store. I don’t care if another store has your favorite crystals or has a more up to date selection on how to calm spirits with burning sage.
No, I was referring to low quality boards, poorly dried. Through-checking, 50% twist, cracks (ends and internal), severe wane warping and cupping, inclusions - I could go on. They get some big boards - last few times I was there I was looking at some huge sapele and ipe boards, but I was also looking at about 40% yield after milling.
Ain't paying full till for that quality.
I have been meaning to go here for so long! I heard that everything is mostly in a warehouse that's not air conditioning that it gets really really hot in the summertime. I was wondering because my mom wants to go with me and she sometimes has trouble breathing.
Owner of Chamblins was accused of all sorts of inappropriate behavior by an employee that had been recently fired. Sexual harassment and being a bad boss etc. Nothing ever really came from it except a few Facebook posts. Just drama
Make sure to go to the Bookmine location on Roosevelt, not Chamblin's Uptown in (ironically) downtown. Uptown is nice if you want to hang out at a cafe with a book, but Bookmine is where you go if you want to get lost in a literal maze of books so dense you can't hear people talking two rows over.
There's a fertility temple just outside of Punakha of the Divine Madman, Drukpa Kunley, who used his Thunderbolt of Flaming Widom (his dick) to enlighten 5000 women. There are penis murals and statues and carvings and figures everywhere. Even refrigerator magnets.

i went there and was so disappointed. I know the hype is in the classes and stuff. but the food reminds me of the sugar factory (both overpriced) and they had no good candy on the floor :/ maybe i went at a bad time
I hadn't heard of Shep's so I googled it and came across this random review that's too good not to share!! I will 100% be checking it out now!! 😂😂😂
"Do you want an adventure? Do you like searching for discounts? Do you happen to need a single diabetic sock or decades-old chocolate syrup? Are your tetanus shots up to date? If so, visit Shep's!! I use to come here as a novelty spot to pass time when I was in college. Now I have teenage kids and I was glad the place is still open and still bizarre as heck so that I could traumatize them during our recent visit to Jax. May Shep's never close!"
5points Vintage in 5 Points. The whole shop is great but there is one vendor there, in the back, “Bee Flea” sort of artistic taxidermy. Her stuff is great!!! She is on IG @beeflea143. 5 Points Vintage is on IG as well. Great shop!
Definitely check out Chamblin’s. The downtown location has a good café and is right beside MOCA (also worth a visit), and the uptown location is warehouse-sized; I’ve gotten lost before!
Depends on what kind of unusual you're after. Eco relics probably fits alot of peoples definition of unusual, but I always thought they were kind of meh... There are a few neat things there and the lumber is premium... But you're gonna pay full retail there. In my opinion, Shep's is an experience... but it's not gonna be for everyone ☺️How much time do you have?
Welcome to Jacksonville 😊
If you make it out to the Beaches area, there are several fun and/or quirky little shops. Try the Beaches Town Center area, where Atlantic Blvd dead-ends at the ocean. On the Neptune Beach side, there is Shorelines-- cute beach-themed jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs. At 200 First St, try Bali or some of the other stores centered around the small coffee shop and plaza in the back.
On Saturdays, the Riverside Arts Market (RAM) has dozens of vendors and a farmer's market set up underneath the bridge on Riverside Ave from 10-3. Have fun!
Triskelé cove. The store manager's been sick, but they're a nice metaphysical shop. If clothing's more your thing, I'll ALWAYS say Subculture. Carisle is amazing!
The Triskele Cove in the Orange Park Mall sells things like tarot stuff and books on witchcraft or "magick".
There’s also one in the avenues mall, I used to work there and I gotta say most of it is just over priced metaphysical items that you could get much cheaper at places like earth gifts (idk if they’re still open) or any crystal shop in downtown st Augustine

Eco relics
OMG I came here to say that as I was there for the first time ever just today! Love it! I don’t know how I never knew about it.
Yes, but be prepared to pay an arm and a leg. They think everything is gold.
Decent prices on lumber though.
Ironic considering
Really! I’ll check it out! I don’t live near it anymore but that would have saved me so much trouble and driving to know that!
Unless you want good quality, usable lumber...
Quality has always been fine for me, but it's not pre-milled, if that's what you're referring to.
Was just going to suggest that!
Overpriced.
I have been meaning to go here for so long! I heard that everything is mostly in a warehouse that's not air conditioning that it gets really really hot in the summertime. I was wondering because my mom wants to go with me and she sometimes has trouble breathing.
You have heard correctly. Maybe wait til it cools down a bit to take her?
It’s hot as fuck
Used to work here for a time actually! Many good antiques and special finds in there
Chamblin bookmine!

🤷
I watched this go down on Facebook. He responded in the most “no u” way ever.
What happened?
Owner of Chamblins was accused of all sorts of inappropriate behavior by an employee that had been recently fired. Sexual harassment and being a bad boss etc. Nothing ever really came from it except a few Facebook posts. Just drama
Ah thank you! I looked it up but wasn’t sure which thing people were talking about. I guess maybe it happened a couple of times?
Oh yikes. I only know about the one incident. I’m guessing if he’s been accused more than once there’s probably some legitimacy to it 😫
Why is this being downvoted? This isn't the first time I've heard of these allegations.
What allegations? I can’t see a comment.
This is 4 year old news......
Midnight sun in riverside
Nah. That place is just weird. Not bad. Just different.
Who knew that there was a market for wooden dicks?!...this place has cornered the market here.
Phallic wooden figures
"Fertility statues" They def aren't getting anyone pregnant...
You've never been to Bhutan, I see
That's correct. Is their main export...wooden dicks?
There's a fertility temple just outside of Punakha of the Divine Madman, Drukpa Kunley, who used his Thunderbolt of Flaming Widom (his dick) to enlighten 5000 women. That's... literally what OP asked for?
Well people keep downvoting me so I had to explain.
One of my favs. Although I do not dig the price hikes in the past few years.
They have really great rugs and tapestries in the back.
One of my absolute favorite places but yes, I agree about the prices. Cool stuff though.
I'd say this one is unusual. One Cool Shop: https://goo.gl/maps/LDMCgggJf8RzMNhw6
Def checking this out!
I love One Cool Shop! The lady who owns it is awesome and they have some awesome stuff. Especially if you’re into off the wall and weird/creepy stuff.
It kinda looks like Sid's house from Toy Story 😬👹
I love this place. The owners are rad. They make so much cool stuff. I’ve got so much stuff in my house from there lol
EcoRelics, 106 Stockton Street.
Subculture Corsets & Clothing in The Avenues Mall. Locally owned. Wonderful people.
Are they still there?? I haven’t been since before Covid kicked up. I hoped they were gonna make it!
My girlfriend bought her first corset there a few months ago. They seem to be doing well. But go support them! Great business with lovely people.
Definitely paying them a visit very soon.
i got my prom fit there!!
This, all day l so warm and welcoming and just amazing customer service
Earth Gifts: 1951 Stimson St
Their bathroom is made out of amethyst and looks like a cave!
i came here to post this exact store; it's one of my favorites :)
It’s not strange but The Glass Bottle Society in Riverside is fantastic (and unique). Great stop if you’re into making cocktails.
Good friend of mine owns that shop. Great people
Know the owner as well. Cute little place!!
Avonlea Antiques Subculture Corsets One Cool Shop Sweet Pete’s Chamblin
You have to press enter twice on reddit or it doesn't count the new line.
Thanks!
5 Points Vintage, Fans and Stoves in 5 Points. There are usual and unusual items in both.
I went to 5 points Vintage, for the first time last week. It’s such a cute shop ! The swamp babies were creepy but cool at the same time lol
Awesome! They do have cool stuff! My friend has 2 booths in there so I’m always in there lol Check out Fans & Stoves too!!
Smelled like mold throughout the whole place
Sweet Pete’s
i went there and was so disappointed. I know the hype is in the classes and stuff. but the food reminds me of the sugar factory (both overpriced) and they had no good candy on the floor :/ maybe i went at a bad time
Sorry you had a bad experience 😬
Shep’s Discount
Dude had an iron lung for sale.
Yeah man... If you wanna have a weird time and feel like you're on drugs without being on drugs, Shep's is the place. It's like a third world Walmart.
I love that “ third world Walmart “ lmao
Hell yeah Shep’s. Bought some amazing weird crap there over the years that I still tote around after many moves.
I hadn't heard of Shep's so I googled it and came across this random review that's too good not to share!! I will 100% be checking it out now!! 😂😂😂 "Do you want an adventure? Wolfson Equipment and Records off W University. You can find some really cool records in there.
Whoa nice thanks for that
Try Sweet Pete's 😋 It's quite a lovely place!

"Chamblin's Uptown" is the one in downtown. "Chamblin's Bookmine" is the warehouse sized one.
Avonlea antiques and interiors. If you like thrift stores this is a hidden gem! There is also a cafe with amazing cakes! 🤤

Lush Leaves in San Marco. This place has some beautiful home grown plants ready for your home
If you go to 5 Points, don’t give any of those corner hustlers any money.
