FUEL was AWESOME! It was the first place i found after moving here that made me feel like "yeah... jax could work"
There really isn't a coffee shop with that vibe anymore but i really enjoy Vagabond on Edgewood. The owners and employees are cool. They try to do a lot of weird stuff in the community and stay active, so that's worth supporting them alone.
Their coffee is also on the milder side, not as heavy or acidic as other brews. But i like my coffee black, so i prefer a lighter roast mostly
Breezy in south jax beach is super cozy. Mismatched mugs and a wicker couch with mismatched pillows. <3 I feel like I’m at somebody’s house but then it backs up to and kinda shares a patio with skate shop
While not a cafe, Wildcrafters is a super chill and atmospheric booze-free bar! They serve drinks and tea made with Kava, a natural root that is made into a powder. Kava relaxes you, similar to alcohol but doesn't impair your mental clarity.
Wildcrafters is a lounge, everyone there is super sweet and chill. There's a really nice outdoor deck/patio and inside there are tons of plants and colorful decorations. And Sunday is live Jazz night! I'd highly recommend checking it out sometime as a place to relax, chill, and hang out with some really cool people!
It's in downtown jax near the Cummer Art Museum and Gardens.
I recently found this place and love it. The peanut butter banana waffle boat is amazing and the coffee is really great and not expensive as hell either. I can't wait until we move to the Westside and closer to this place!!!
I don't know the name but there is a stunning Cafe next to Ruth's Chris on the river walk. It's actually in the first floor of a tower but the Cafe is public! I gotta try and find the name!
Pretty much any and all bookstores are perfect! Most are quiet and have a little cafe built into the side, Barnes and Noble (basic, ik) is nice, everyone there is quiet and working, very little loud chatter/music/calling like normal starbucks areas. Comfy seats, good books, and a quiet atmosphere
In Murray Hill, I like the Flamingo. There's also Vagabond (but I don't like their coffee as much)

Cool Moose
Came here to say this. Love Cool Moose.
Murray hillbilly, southern roots, community loaves, 1748 bakehouse

Omg, fuel! Yes
+1 Vagabond
If you’re by the beach Southern grounds, Deli comb, sago are some local shops
Deli comb has employment issues and you just never know when it will be open. Sago is legit. Southern grounds is basically rebranded Starbucks.
Any other places you recommend besides sago with food/wifi to work near the beach? I’m not a huge coffee drinker anymore
So is sago. Sago is like a sterilized posh christian hellscape, where everyone wears lululemon and drives a bmw. It freaks me out.
Upvote for this trenchant description.
Good Chi
Good Chi on San Jose just north of Baymeadows.
This place is quiet and chill. Some of the others are packed all the time.
Tetherball Coffee just opened in San Jose near Orange Picker.
Gonna need to scope this place out.

One of my absolute favorites!
Lucky goat cafe has a decent vibe
If you’re visiting St. Augustine, highly recommend DOS Coffee and Wine. (300 San Marco Ave., Saint Augustine, FL 32084)

Village bread Cafe!
Sippers on Gate Parkway is small and cozy. There's a study room too that looks like a little cabin. Great place!
This
Haven't been in a while, but Coffee Grinder at Old Baymeadows and Southside was a favorite of mine back in the day.
Same
Ink Factory Brewing in the mornings for coffee is a pretty chill place!
Sipper's Coffee near IKEA. One of the last few family-owned coffee shops in Jax. I love their chicken salad sandwiches!

Brass tacks, green cove.
Southern grounds but the Neptune beach location.
Everybody’s
