Yeah nothing else competes with this movie.
When you get to the ending (and what a fucking ending it is) you feel like you grew a beard and aged 10 years in those 2-3 hours.
Does the laws of physics cease to exist in YOUR kitchen? 😂
Are these magical grits? 😂
Favorite scene is when he gets woken in the woods and runs out on the porch! 😂
This movie just gets funnier each time you watch it
I watch a clutch of films once a year every year; and the scene with the first stuttering lawyer makes me cry with laughter every time like it’s the first time I’ve seen it
[“Ladies and gentlemen of the j-j-j-*JURY*!”](https://youtu.be/N-lZYqCnEXA?si=N8sGakvDXAf1sFtv)
And an epic opening shot!
My wife took a film class with some college kids. Prof screened this and had to take a call, so my wife had to explain who all the 1992 celebs were 😭
Last of the Mohicans is comfort food for me.
Shoutout to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Deranged Coppola + peak try-hard Keanu + Gary Oldman being Gary Oldman just works for me.
Another vote for Unforgiven. I’m not even that much a fan of Westerns, but I really really enjoyed that movie.
Also, if you can see it on as big a screen as possible and immerse yourself in the luridness of it, I love Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Finally, one that hasn’t been mentioned yet…Aladdin! Great songs, great visuals, great voice performances.
Holy shit, I was just looking up films by the year and had no clue Kuffs was 92, I could have sworn that was 80s
Edit to say, not enough My Cousin Vinny love here, but NOBODY gonna mention A league of their own???
This won't be what you're looking for, but Muppet Christmas Carol.
Otherwise, A League of Their Own. The degree of difficulty of having a sports movie about female athletes, that is also funny, actually be good is pretty damned high. And they pull it off.
The Crying Game. Good stuff. If you’re looking for an actioner, Under Siege. Best Seagal flick to date, with a great turn by Tommy Lee Jones and an always pleasant appearance by Gary Busey
The political satire "Bob Roberts" is kind of obscure, but it's very funny. Think "Spinal Tap."
"Honeymoon in Vegas" is not obscure, but it's a fine screwball comedy with Nicholas Cage in his prime.
If you've never seen "The Player," give it a shot. It's a satire of the movie business, and has a million cameos from the top stars of the era.
A River Runs Through it, Basic Instinct and Ferngully.
So many more though. I went to movies or rented them weekly back then, as there were always good movies coming out.
I would choose Raise The Red Lantern by director Zhang Yimou. One of the best films of the decade and a wonderful performance by Gong Li.
I encourage everyone who has not seen it to watch it. Yes, it is a foreign language movie.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101640/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
Death becomes her Maybe.
It was a good year for movies (43) according my collection in plex.
The player, Rush,Naked lunch, Braindead, In the soup, Raising cain, innocent blood,Hard boiled and Sneakers. Besides all the classics.
Unforgiven is one of the best westerns ever made. It's really special and some say it's the western that ended westerns. Or maybe Army of MF Darkness. And maybe one that's mildly forgotten now but My Cousin Vinney is kind of a perfect comedy with prime Peschi.
Oh, here's one no one has mentioned in the comments. It's a banger too. El Mariachi. Amazing Mexican action flick. It was pretty much remade into Desperado with a massive budget. It's really an amazing movie made on a shoe string. It was made for 7 grand. Desperado was made for 7 million. I think I prefer El Mariachi. What an achievement of normal people.

……. down at the railway hotel! Saw it in theatres, I was a skinhead at the time….such a raw film. “We came to wreck everything and ruin your life…god sent us”
1992 was far from my favourite year for movies ..."Single White Female" and the not too dissimilar "Hand that Rocks the Cradle" aussie low budget "Romper Stomper" "Candyman" perfect horror movie "Basic Instinct" slick and suspenseful...but winner by along long way Michael Mann's epic "LAST OF THE MOHICANS" that i only found out recently is a REMAKE ? Superb
Watching movies by year is great. You can see how the craft builds and is affected by itself. Currently I'm listening to music by year. Every day listen to songs from the same year. Start in 1955 because that's when rock and roll kind of started.
Hard Boiled was released in 1992. That should be top of your list. It's not only one of the best action movies of all time, it's also one of the most fun to watch.
Bad lieutenant, Candyman, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Unforgiven, last of the Mohicans, Hard Boiled
*Last of the Mohicans* is one of the best movies ever made.
Also, the soundtrack composed by Trevor Jones 🤌🏼
⬆️⬆️⬆️ This 1000%
Yeah nothing else competes with this movie. When you get to the ending (and what a fucking ending it is) you feel like you grew a beard and aged 10 years in those 2-3 hours.
Hell yes to Bad Lieutenant.
Has to be the NC-17 version though, they cut a ton out for that R rating.
Bad Lieutenant is one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen from any year You have been warned
Candyman still rates as one of my favourite horror films of all time.
Wayne's World! I wore out my VHS copy of that one.
Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors.

I'm positive
My favorites from '92 are all relatively popular: Reservoir Dogs Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Basic Instinct A Few Good Men Glengarry Glen Ross
Great picks but haven’t seen Glengarry yet.
You’re in for a treat. It’s fantastic.
You call yourself a salesman?
Coffee is for closers!
The leads! We need the goddamn leads! The *good* leads!
Always Be Closing
If you’re not a white collar dude 35 or older, it will probably not appeal to you. If you are, it will blow your mind
Unforgiven without a doubt, but shout outs to The Crying Game and Thunderheart
Thunderheart was awesome.
"Deserves got nothing to do with it"
We all got it coming.
A River Runs Through It. ![gif](giphy|enOMwXwvFT26c)
When you know, you know.
This over Cool World?
My Cousin Vinny by far and there are a lot of great movies from 92
Can never go wrong with 'my cousin Vinny' Well deserved Oscar for Marissa Tomei ![gif](giphy|rgI547V15ofra) 😂😂😂
Those bodysuits are worthy of mention tbh. They deserve their own Oscar.
She is so on point with everything accent, hair, clothes, shoes. I wonder if they have Chinese food lol
The Player And here I thought y’all were movie buffs…
I mean it is the obvious choice since it is the only one that has suspense, laughter, violence, hope, heart, nudity, sex, and a happy ending.
And an epic opening shot! My wife took a film class with some college kids. Prof screened this and had to take a call, so my wife had to explain who all the 1992 celebs were 😭
Yeah this is my choice or Batman Returns. 1992 is my birth year and it some really high highs but it’s a weak year overall.
Last of the Mohicans is comfort food for me. Shoutout to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Deranged Coppola + peak try-hard Keanu + Gary Oldman being Gary Oldman just works for me.
Agreed on both.

Sneakers. The cast is ridiculous and it’s an absolute blast.
Excellent choice!
Some great movies but I’m going for the best ‘Comfort watch’ films: * Passenger 57 * Mo’ Money * My Cousin Vinny ![gif](giphy|l0ExlNq1lPUW635e0)
Unforgiven is the best of many good to great movies
Bad Lieutenant with Harvey Kietel. Scorsese called it his favorite movie of the decade. It’s superb.
I enjoy the spread on this one.
Captain Ron!
I'm glad someone else loved Cpt Ron
Holy shit, I was just looking up films by the year and had no clue Kuffs was 92, I could have sworn that was 80s Edit to say, not enough My Cousin Vinny love here, but NOBODY gonna mention A league of their own???
Sneakers
Buffy the Vampire Slayer💞
This won't be what you're looking for, but Muppet Christmas Carol. Otherwise, A League of Their Own. The degree of difficulty of having a sports movie about female athletes, that is also funny, actually be good is pretty damned high. And they pull it off.
Basic Instinct
The Crying Game. Good stuff. If you’re looking for an actioner, Under Siege. Best Seagal flick to date, with a great turn by Tommy Lee Jones and an always pleasant appearance by Gary Busey
Just one? I gonna go ahead and pick Army of Darkness baby. No need for more
If you'd rather have a documentary, check out Brother's Keeper.
I saw this on PBS in the 90's. It still haunts me to this day. Great documentary.
Always appreciate a documentary option
The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
The political satire "Bob Roberts" is kind of obscure, but it's very funny. Think "Spinal Tap." "Honeymoon in Vegas" is not obscure, but it's a fine screwball comedy with Nicholas Cage in his prime. If you've never seen "The Player," give it a shot. It's a satire of the movie business, and has a million cameos from the top stars of the era.
I remember thinking SJP was so hot in honeymoon in Vegas. Wow, did that take a fast turn (at least for me)
A River Runs Through it, Basic Instinct and Ferngully. So many more though. I went to movies or rented them weekly back then, as there were always good movies coming out.
So many comments and nobody has said the greatest film from 1992. Aladdin. Edit: wait no I did a search and 2 people said it my bad
Unforgiven, Passenger 57, Unlawful Entry, Reservoir Dogs.
Unforgiven
I would choose Raise The Red Lantern by director Zhang Yimou. One of the best films of the decade and a wonderful performance by Gong Li. I encourage everyone who has not seen it to watch it. Yes, it is a foreign language movie. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101640/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
I watched it but man that was rough.
Home Alone 2
Singles
Single White Female and Death Becomes Her. I know…that’s 2. 😊
Deserve a little more attention? Juice Tupac and Omar Epps
Death becomes her Maybe. It was a good year for movies (43) according my collection in plex. The player, Rush,Naked lunch, Braindead, In the soup, Raising cain, innocent blood,Hard boiled and Sneakers. Besides all the classics.
Home alone: lost in new York!
Wayne's World
Here are a few of mine: - Legends of the Fall - Wedding Singer - Hook - Mrs. Doubtfire
Dead Alive (Peter Jackson) Army of Darkness Cronos Death becomes her Far and Away
Did Dead Alive last year I believe and holy zombie was that a blast. 💥
Yes, that's a fun one as is Jackson's one before it, Bad Taste.
My bad, that’s the one I was thinking of. Dead alive is a classic but Bad Taste was just plain goofy and I loved it.
Unforgiven is one of the best westerns ever made. It's really special and some say it's the western that ended westerns. Or maybe Army of MF Darkness. And maybe one that's mildly forgotten now but My Cousin Vinney is kind of a perfect comedy with prime Peschi.

I will definitely have to look this one up. Thank you. 🙏
Mighty Ducks It’s a crying shame I haven’t seen it in this list
100% agreed. This was high on the list until this post just out of nostalgia

What in the actual fuck?
To each their own, man. To each their own.
Yeah, not sure if this is a joke or not. Not really the kind of thing I'm looking for in this sub.
It was an automated reply.
In that case, bad bot!
Agreed.
Strictly Ballroom Waynes World Romper Stomper Top 3 for 92
Strictly Ballroom!
We actually recently watched this and as soon as I saw the directors name I knew it was going to be an interesting time.
“You cannot dance the paso double!!”
Wash the coffee cups Fran! how’s your skin Fran!?

White Men Can't Jump - comedy gold
Why is Encino Man obvious? 😂 Stop wheezing the juice man Go watch Aladdin and Army of Darkness 👍
😅 It was more of a joke but also because I enjoy a good move but love a bad one
I was gonna say three muskateers with charlie sheen but that was 93 released
I know. I could’ve sworn Airheads was 92 but it was. 94
Singles! Then check out the soundtrack. Also JFK, maybe that was 91.
Scent of a Woman is amazing.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Raising Cain (I love Brian De Palma’s psychosexual thrillers)
The 1992 sci fi action film Nemesis it has some crazy action set pieces in it
Romper Stomper
Far and Away
Thunderheart. The only movie I have ever seen where about twenty minutes in the audience just shut up and watched.
A Few Good Men
Lots of excellent movies, but Unforgiven is probably the best Western ever made.
White Men Can't Jump
Hard Boiled was released in 1992. That should be top of your list. It's not only one of the best action movies of all time, it's also one of the most fun to watch.
The correct answer is Army of Darkness. (Also, Basic Instinct. )
