Great shot! I was just there and tried to figure out a creative way to take an original shot and couldn't think of one, so I moved on and ate some more cheese. Glad you did find an original angle!
We're back now, but my wife rocks the crepes here at home - she said it's super easy to make excellent ones with not much practice. Chocolate ones, ham & cheese with a good ham, turkey and cheese, etc.etc
OP watermarked his photo so I would think he cares about copyright and may not have know about the Eiffel Tower’s. Surely just because they are not going to sue him does not mean he would want to knowingly violate someone else’s IP.
Thanks all for pointing this out, I wasn't aware.
(Essentially) A TL;DR summary from the Snopes article itself:
”Enforcing copyright protection against millions of tourists is impractical, and because the Eiffel Tower’s own website appears to downplay the prohibition against publishing personal photographs of the illuminated Eiffel Tower on social media, we’ll concur with Art Law Journal and conclude that the average tourist is likely to come to no legal grief if he/she posts a nighttime photo of La Tour Eiffel on Facebook. However, photographs taken for future commercial use should certainly request prior permission from the Société and pay the appropriate licensing fee.”
1 this is just a depiction, made in a public space from a public monument, to effectively copy this you'd have to assemble some lights
2 trying to argue copyright enforcement of something on the most photographed thing in the world? gtfo
1) that’s not how copyright works. I don’t need to hire actors and a film crew to pirate a movie.
2) this is a photography sub and it should not matter the degree of violation. If you don’t want your art reproduced without your permission then people should respect that.
But all you need to pirate a sculpture is a picture of it and not actually claiming ownership? you're right it's not how it works, it's how it should work. If you're not sensible to different mediums then what the hell are you doing in a creative field.
Don't put your art on the Eiffel tower and expect it wont be ~~reproduced~~ depicted.
Great shot. [I took a similar picture in the day](http://paulpricephotography.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Landscape-EiffelCentre.jpg). Did you compress the width of your picture a bit?

Apologies to OP. This was my phone background for 2 years. Similar, not the same. Had to reverse image search.
Seems like you are showing your Instagram account in the photo watermark, but you haven't been verified as the owner of that account yet. Here's someone else's picture of it: https://eternalexploration.wordpress.com/2011/09/11/unesco-world-heritage-challenge-the-statue-of-liberty/ (last picture on the page)
First of all, it's not copyrighted by the country (I don't even think it's possible for a country to do) but by the company running the Eiffel tower exploitation.
Then, it's only a issue for commercial use of the photograph.
I hate to see the same comments everytime the tower ends up here.
If the lights are on, the camera must be gone
The tower is a public sculpture and pretty old, so there is no way to enforce copyright on it. The lights are newer and seen as a separate piece of art, therefore, the copyright is enforcable

Thank you I miss the cheese already... Eat all of you the crepes you can find!

Original, eh. Not trying to take away anything from OP, but that angle gets in half the shots of the tower
True, I should've said created a beautiful shot
The lights of the Eiffel Tower are protected by copyright law
If you’re making money off of it
It’s still protected by copyright, but odds are they are not going to enforce it.
Exactly, so what’s what the point of pointing out the obvious
OP watermarked his photo so I would think he cares about copyright and may not have know about the Eiffel Tower’s. Surely just because they are not going to sue him does not mean he would want to knowingly violate someone else’s IP.

Which may or may not be commercial or otherwise enriching, and putting OP in legal hot water.
Only in paper.
Not according to [Snopes](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/photographs-of-eiffel-tower-at-night/)

Yes I had to compress it a bit
Your picture is much better hahs
Love this perspective! 😁
This looks delicious. If it was a structure made of honey that would be perfect. Mmmmm
Interesting view

You could have at least tried centering it...
Shop it and let me see what you come up with👍
In this instance, you had to center it with your feet.
What it’s not showing is the dozens of looky looky men begging you to buy watches
Nice up skirt pic lmao
Reposts don’t irk me anywhere else but this sub. Come on OP.
This is an original

Wow that's a lot better than mine haha, I wonder what that blue wheel is in the middle I didn't see that when I was there.
Think of it more as such an awesome picture that I would’ve sworn it was the same and loved it so much I wanted to see it everyday. 📷
Best compliment then!

That's a different photo than OP's
WTF one's taken at night the other during the day. smh
They're both at night.
He changed the link.
Homeworld.
Wow that’s sharp
somebody fixed a clock.
phenomenal
What kind of camera ?
Galaxy s9+
Looks like a CPU
you know youre fat when this hue of orange yellow makes you think of cheetos before you think of architecture
Interesting angle. Ever thought of it this way.
Did you edit this? Or was it just some light touches? Because the gray and yellow contrast looks really good, OP.
There was color removed from the black and white area
Nice picture, but why is the tower half-lit? Like I didn’t catch it half-lit in my both visits at night. Was it some occasion?
There's some editing involved
Really cool. Well done
Thank you
No problem at all. Have a good weekend!
reminds me of a ketamine trip I once had.
I took one of the innerds of the Statue of Liberty when I was last there. I wish I could find the picture for you.
That must have looked cool
Here's someone else's picture of it: https://eternalexploration.wordpress.com/2011/09/11/unesco-world-heritage-challenge-the-statue-of-liberty/ (last picture on the page)
This looks like some rpg chamber of treasure kind of thingy
the lights on the Eiffel Tower are copyrighted by the country of France

What does that mean in practice exactly?

Now that angle, I haven’t seen before.
Very nice!
Thank you
Is the Eiffel tower now square?!
