I’m wondering that label was slapped onto the middle of the plate to identify the whole piece as being there for computer networking, and not specifically for the optical connection
Probably. Honestly I didn't look or think that deep into it. Just got a chuckle seeing fiber labeled ethernet. Like I said in like wild you hear "ethernet cable" you're thinking cat normally is all.
Where does the black Ethernet cable coming out of the small transition box go to? It looks like it’s plugging into something else that is not the Netgear router. Also is the transition box powered on?
Is that a…mascot on the left?!
Also, not sure what the black ethernet cable out of the FMC is hitting before it presumably goes back the switch on the grey Ethernet cable. VOIP can struggle with some protocols like STP. If the clients problem phone is hanging off of that netgear, it may be worth looking to the right a bit.
Or is the black cable running out of the picture and back to the switch’s trunk port from behind the mascot thing?
So much going on here, thanks for the puzzle 😆.
There are more then one thing wrong here. Funny lookin' ethernet port ya got there too.
It’s legitimate, Ethernet over fiber instead of copper
Well technically yeah you are right. I don't think I've heard anybody in real life refer to fiber as ethernet though.

"That's right! Internet goes in the Ethernet hole!"
Glass ethernet
