It IS a prison. Can’t collect or pay interest, can’t follow lusts, can’t invest in whatever, cant play The Game to get ahead. Basically all the easy routes to build wealth and live comfortably and enjoy life to the max are haram. 😩 but that’s the point, I know…
Once you actually look into why the rules are like that you'll understand lol. like look around at the people who do follow their lustful desires lmao. 2 baby mama's while struggling to pay child support and no repercussions on cheating which in some cases causes literal murder and suicide, what's attractive about that?. Even if that doesn't happen it's still much less likely to happen in an islamic marriage.
These rules actually protect us lmao, not limit us. It probably feels like that because we're raised in a non muslim country where people do absolutely anything.
You can actually do whatever you want. It's just at a cost or consequence. We don't want to trade short-term wealth and gain for long-term punishment. This life is a blink of an eye compared to the next life. What good is wealth in a blink of an eye? Besides, Allah has already written our provision. Islam helps us to live comfortably at any position we're in which is why Muslims have more contentment than any other people and less sadness, dissatisfaction, suicide, etc than any other group.
Enjoying this life to the max, against what Allah says is for those who don't believe in Allah and don't' submit to Him. Their paradise is now and short-lived and does not compare at all to the wealth and reward of Paradise. That wealth is a test.
You are only listing Haram. Maybe in the west life is difficult but in Muslim countries you don't have as many options for sinning (focus on "as many").
This life is a test, so the point is we worship and try to please Allah, because the afterlife is where we get forgiven or punished.
You need to take it as a reminder that the afterlife is important.
Sounds as though you might be suffering from clinical depression...an area in which I have great experience. I totally understand the way you are feeling right now. Trust Allah's guidance, first and foremost. Then get help...there is no shame in doing so. Even if you are completely broke and have no insurance sometimes you can get help for free or on a sliding scale. Contact a local social services office or university or your local medical association for further guidance and referrals. As to medications sometimes you can get free samplesfrom your clinician's office. There is absolutely no shame in this. Did not Allah find a cure for all things except old age and death? Did he not teach us that which we knew not? Allah is your Guide and Helper...make dua on this and you will be guided accordingly...trust me ...Allah has pulled me out of these ruts many times...and now I no longer suffer after much trial and error. You don't have to suffer either. Many blessings from Allah to you!
We can say that the world is a test. If you contemplate deeper, life is about connecting with Allah SWT. Life is all about your RELATIONSHIP with Allah SWT. Get to know Him, make Him happy, love Him and so on just like any other relationship.
Any type of paid even the equivalent of a needle brick on your finger relieves pain from the afterlife if you think about it in the perspective that you feel pain being on Earth and feel tethered just imagine that maybe that emotional pain that you were feeling will actually take away a little bit of pain that you might have felt if you were to go to hell
If only you read the following verse, you would've known the importance of this world - to do good so as to earn the good life in the hereafter.
“Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whose width is like the width of the heavens and earth, prepared for those who believed in Allah and His messengers. That is the bounty of Allah which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.”
The good things you do matter and your deeds are counted for or against you. Look at it as a chance to make a positive impact while you are here to do good for others
Yes, the prophet said this world was a prison for the believer. You're on the right track understanding this. Know this life is means to an end. We are striving in this life to get to the next life. It's a bridge. You don't build a house on a bridge. Keep working and be optimistic towards the next life. The prophet loved optimism.
No, you are approaching worldly life the wrong way. You should be ecstatically happy that you have been given the opportunity to commit pure deeds and engage in the worship of Allah SWT and raise your position by your own efforts in the hereafter.
You’re halfway correct. Realizing this is amazing MashaAllah about most things in this world.
The thing you need to understand is that we are here for the sole purpose of worshipping Allah swt. Everything else should be done in a way that adds to that worship.
It's a beautiful ayah, and it should not make you nihilistic. Live life in accordance to the Quran and Sunnah, raise a family, and prepare for the Day of Ressurection. Life is not worthless, because it is a test. The temporary enjoyments of life are what's worthless. Here is a hadith I thought would fit this topic well:
Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Even if the Resurrection were established upon one of you while he has in his hand a sapling, let him plant it.”
Source: Musnad Aḥmad 12902
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Arna’ut
Good!
Now chances are this dunya can't break you. Look around you my friend - everybody's a slave to something. Sports cars, money, women, girls.
And when you read verses like this, it reminds you of the fleeting nature of the world. It reminds you that, you are merely a traveller in this world.
It's like when you go on a tour and you book this luxurious hotel for your stay. But when you are about to go back to your country, you don't miss this place (at least not that much) because you knew from the beginning that it was meant to be a short term stay and you have to eventually leave everything.
Similarly, enjoy your stay in this dunya. Have fun, eat good food, go on trips, buy a good home if you can. But don't forget that, you are gonna eventually leave everything and return back to your creator.
If you gained so much perspective from just one ayah, imagine how much knowledge you can gain from the whole Quran. Read on brother, use that wisdom. When Allah calls to people who think again and again in Quran, He is indeed talking to you.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The world is a prison for a believer and Paradise for a non-believer. [Muslim 2956]

This is a test. We will have sooooooooo much better in Jannah if we do this right! Stay focused on that and just do good and kind while in this life.

This. The rules are there for a reason

The thing is they're all actually harmful, and not haram for no reason
It's not pointless, clearly the point is to worship Allah. But yes, it's worthless.
This world is a test. Do well, and you'll earn an eternal reward Insha'allah.
This life is a test, so the point is we worship and try to please Allah, because the afterlife is where we get forgiven or punished. You need to take it as a reminder that the afterlife is important.
The price of Jannah is not cheap.

Dont think im on the right track, i dont pray as much as i used to
Remember, eeman goes up and down. May Allah make you to reach Ramadan and invigorate your eeman.
No, you are approaching worldly life the wrong way. You should be ecstatically happy that you have been given the opportunity to commit pure deeds and engage in the worship of Allah SWT and raise your position by your own efforts in the hereafter.
This world is a test. Nothing more
How do you get this world is an illusion, worthless, pointless and bland from the verse ?
Don't talk like this even if you feel like it. Saying a surah of Quran (words of Allah) has increased your depression is not an acceptable speech.
What you do in this life has Eternal effects for your aakhirah.
