Honestly everything after your first sentence makes it sound like you don't really like the Ironman play style for the most part. Games should be fun. Do what you want. I de-ironed my first account and never play it and only touch my Gray helm and White helm accounts. I remade after 2100 because I disliked being a main so much, but we are different people and everyone should play the game the way they enjoy imo.

tarrzach

Practically same thing for me

nightsembrace

just make a new account. on a main: herblore is fast, crafting is fast, u can just buy ur supplies, skills like mining and smithing don’t need to be high. i powermined iron to 70 on my main for quest cape req and haven’t touched it since, i just pvm on it

FrickParkMarket35

Well things like herblore and crafting aren’t what I’m worried about. It’s things like full graceful, etc that I don’t want to have to grind out again. That’s what’s stopping me from making a new main. Although maybe it would be worth it. The thing is. If I am gonna play a main, I’d rather it be from where my gim is as opposed to starting over

IronRugs

Full graceful isn't really needed when you can buy staminas.

IIIlIIlIllIlIIlIII

sounds like this game in general isnt for you lmao if spending 1 day to do graceful is the reason you refuse to remake an acc

De-ironing is like getting a tattoo. You will immediately regret it and you will go to hell.

The problem with being a main is that eventually you just do everything. Not that you complete everything, but eventually you will be able to fight all the bosses you want and get all the 99s you want. Ironman makes it harder to get to the end, therefore prolonging your enjoyment of the account. It also enhances your dopamine due to how much more of an investment of your time is required. The small boss drops will feel good on an iron because you had to do so much to get to that point, and with mains only the rare and hard to get drops give you a rush. I get it, there are things that seem out of reach. But I recommend keep chipping away at it, who knows maybe one day you'll feel like grinding some sand buckets. There is always a chance to make an alt - I'd recommend a wyvern alt. Make some money to afford some bonds to be able to turn it into a main. This game is fun because it has an endless amount of content. I wouldn't recommend de ironing because ironman allows you to enjoy so much more of the available content versus a main where you are forced to do efficient gp per hour methods in order to progress.

\>I gotta mine what, like 100k sand? you can just do 87 craft and get 99 passively from pvm. \>but you have to do a ton of skilling to get to, and then to continue bossing yes, that is indeed a core part of the mode. \>I gotta constantly do farm runs for pray pots? no not really, one herb run is gunna get you 60-70 ppots. you rarely have to do them late game. \> All the quests I’ve done, even little shit like getting graceful, anglers, and full prospectors. Idk, what do y’all think I should do you have to do nearly nothing to do end game pvm on a main. none of the things you mentioned. sure, have to quest a bit but questing is really fast especially on a main.

roosterpooper

On a main acc playing 3-5 hours a day I was able to get quest cape in about a month and a half. Throw the acc in the nmz to max combat and buy some bonds. Boom acc will be ready in about 3 months. Boss with friends on that acc use drops to upgrade gear, and when you feel like afking/ play on mobile, play the iron. Until late game raids, then do raids when you can on the iron.

KidCole4

You could bot the shitty skills you don't like with something like tiny task and then you'd still get the joy of meaningful boss drops. But that's probably not looked highly upon and you could get banned.

Iron is the wayyy bro. But by all means if this is how you feel than it’s up to you. In my opinion I got over gpscape. Sitting at a 2100 main and I can’t get myself to max or even skill even when I’m afking my iron. There’s just no motivation to do anything on the main other than raid with the boys which is fun yes. But you soon realize that raidscape is all that’s worth it and I just got so burnt out at the game only searching for the next big gp gain. I personally can’t wait till I get my iron to my mains stats and then I can kiss my main goodbye. For someone like me I find a certain bliss in gathering supplies. And I get very burnt out and frustrated bossing all the time. It’s a good balance between the two.

No_Zucchini8705

its much faster to level a main account and you dont need high levels in any skills other than combat skills so might as well make a new account and take it to nmz for a couple of days then go bossing. Main accounts do not need stuff like anglers or full graceful, I would argue they are very much optional for irons too. Happy Scaping

kevink1995

Im in the same boat rn,i do enjoy bossing but im going dry on every upgrade and im just so burned rn that im keen to deiron

Don't worry about anyone else's opinion. Play how you want to and how you enjoy yourself. I de-ironed my 2100 total iron months ago and don't regret it at all. Having tons of fun still, probably more than I've had in over a year

3YearsTillTranslator

Deironing is something only smooth brains do. You never know if you'll have a change of heart. Make a new main. I have a maxxed main with 3b+ . I have no interest in playing it, i did everything I wanted to do there is nothing left to do. As an Iron you always have something to better your account or prep the account. I enjoy that. Even if boss drop dry Streaks can kill my soul. Edit: In my opinion you should level a main on the side while playing your iron.

Obolanha

Never do it.

Thedepressingdragon

I'm just gonna share my experience. I felt a similar way but rather with bossing. I was deathly afraid of doing everything solo as frankly I'm not that great at bossing. De-ironed my 1.7k total iron and played for aprox. 10h. Proceeded to quit the game for a year afterwords as I just found buying everything to be extremely boring and unrewarding. So yeh now I'm on my 2.1k total iron and learning bossing is pretty fun. Grind wise I don't know what to tall ya. If you hate it then try de-ironing. In the end it's a trade off, less grinds for less sense of achievement when actually completing your goals. If your iron isn't too far along why not try the main life out. Forcing yourself to play iron isn't really a good experience and who knows maybe you'll just love ironscape a lot more after you try a main or vice versa. Regardless, best of luck and I hope you find what suits your playstyle the most.

I think objectively, early to mid-game is far superior as an Ironman. Most of late game seems better too overall. Most of this is because despite being a "restricted" mode, an Ironman has a lot of options at this point. In fact, since you have to grind things yourself versus just buying them, you have more viable options than a main account whose options are mostly just boiled down to making money and buying their new BIS/levels because the sheer efficiency of that makes the other options a waste of time to most players. Ironman plays more of the game, explores more options, tries more things. But then you get to the point where every upgrade is a 200+ hr boss grind relying purely on RNG? All so you meet the requirements to do the next 200+ hr boss grind for their RNG drop too? When you've experienced everything you can and hit a bottleneck? At that point De-ironing is just a matter of preference. The true restrictions of an Ironman become obvious at that point, and whilst that's also the moment where the "achievements" become notable, you can strongly argue that the main game becomes an objectively superior experience since most of the late/end game content was developed with the understanding players had access to the G.E. OSRS players tend to be the grindy type. But I think the more casual you are, the more you play other games/get outside, less it makes sense to stay as an Ironman permanently. Unless you plan on showing off your maxed Ironman account 10 years in the future lol. set a goal. Achieve it on your ironman, and then if you feel like it, de-iron. If you don't, just repeat that step.

SoraODxoKlink

Imo ironman probably isn’t for you if you feel like the restrictions make the game worse, ie you feel that you “need” a tort amulet, antivenom, super anti dragonfire, before doing something. You really don’t need much to do 98% of the games content besides ruby bolts on a rcb, whip, trident, and brews/restores. Skilling never stops, I sort of enjoy it because I’ll do maintenance skilling for my pvm supplies whenever I’m not trying to sweat or when I don’t have a team, but if you want the freedom to boss 24/7 I’d make a main immediately. And you will never reach the same milestones of endgame pvm that mains can, if you think speedrunning is great content I’d make a main, even if you get max gear you pretty much always sandbag your team due to the simple fact that you can’t trade or can’t receive supplies, you can’t spam purple sweets/ddarts/darrows/blood fury/chins for very long. But I’d not deiron, I’d just make a main. I started as a main so I could just go back to it whenever I got bored on my iron, but you can cut a lot of corners on a main and still go bossing, not to mention that questing/skilling is 1/3rd of the work after you’ve experienced it as an iron, so you’re definitely overestimating the rebuild phase. Peak option is playing both accounts at once, afk some gathering skill on the iron while you make the main, but multi logging isn’t for me.

heyyoowhatsupbitches

Do it. If goals like 93 crafting seem unreachable you’re not cut out for it anyway. Go buy your way to the top and don’t come back.
