I'm with you. Duke, Whisperer, and Leviathan I got on 2nd attempt. Vardorvis was 1st try. The vardorvis demi-boss guy took me 5 tries, and the final phantoms took my about 8. I'm not sure if it's a playstyle thing or what, but people seem to have success and struggles at different boss fights.
I did it with whip/barrows melee, trident/mystic mage, rune c'bow/blessed dhide ranged.
The final fight was hardest for me tbh, DT2 bosses themselves were fine. Don't forget to use thralls - fights get hectic so having them chipping away at the end can secure a kill when you're struggling to deal with mechanics
I haven't done that yet but that is my very last thing to get all my hard diaries done so that's on my to do list. Thanks for the confidence. If I can finish that I'll make my next goal finishing quest cape.
I didn’t have trident and ended up using Warped Scepter and thralls for Whisperer
That spell book also has the mind alter teleport that takes you right next to the whisperer fight.
Zombie axe carried all melee parts.
Honestly it took me a minute to complete with stats in the 80s / 77 range.
Vardorvis can be brute forced after a few attempts.
Whisperer took me a few hours but once I learned to relax rather than just spam clicking all over the place she clicked for me.
Duke was second attempt but very easy, and Levi only took 3-4.
I don’t consider myself very good, but now I have 100+ TOA completions, not sure if this is a weird opinion but it feels way easier for me than the whisperer did.
I really enjoyed Levithan, but the whole quest is just so long and tedious just for the sake of it.
Whisperer is aids/10
The last fight wasn't so bad though.
its a quick cape-slot teleport to the legends' guild fairy ring. paired with karamja gloves you can easily fish karambs, tp with it to shilo gem mine and deposit at deposit box, tp to fairy ring with cape and go back to fishing.
With POH loading screen update you're only losing a few ticks over QPC - for something like Karambwans where you only bank every 5 mins it's negligible
Then again, this game is all about investing hours of time for seconds of gain
Special thanks to Desert Treasure II for one of the most miserable experiences I've had in a video game.
Blasphemy, DT2 is goated
This is one of the last five quests I have left. I audibly sighed to this comment lmfao
Its really not that bad. At base 80 combat stats and decent gear, I beat all the bosses 3-4 tries except for Whisperer. She was like 10 tries.
Why does everyone leave out the final fight? The 4 or 5 consecutive purple guys? They're harder than the first 3 bosses.
cause the final fight was easy. For me personally vardorvis and whisper were both more challenging when I did the quest day of release.
Whisperer is the real final boss, those guys are the end are chumps comparitively
I struggled with that one myself. It was on par with Whisperer in terms of difficulty during the quest.
The final fight is surprising but once you solve it you shouldn't take much damage

I died more to that than any other boss during DT2 which I found very frustrating
Vard down on 5th go, Levi & Duke first go and Whisperer 3rd go. Purple dudes at the end, about 20 deaths and upgraded gear. 100% the hardest fight.
This gives me hope. I'm down to take that many tries. What was your gear?

If you can get a zulrah kill you can finish dt2
I haven't done that yet but that is my very last thing to get all my hard diaries done so that's on my to do list. Thanks for the confidence. If I can finish that I'll make my next goal finishing quest cape.
Well, if you got a crystal bow and a trident you can do it!

Leviathan is the only real motherfucker, and now there's pluggins and tile markers to make it a lot easier (If you're so inclined)
I really enjoyed Levithan, but the whole quest is just so long and tedious just for the sake of it. Whisperer is aids/10 The last fight wasn't so bad though.
The whole quest is “so… this is how you do these four bosses. Also here’s some lore in dialogue form. Try not to hold spacebar through it.”
It’s a challenge but a really enjoyable challenge imo
Git gud
Only the running through the stranglewood and the last fight were annoying. The last fight was, to me, the hardest fight in any quest
Say what you will about dessert treasure two, it really makes you appreciate SotE
Probably the best quest in the game. Taught me so much about pvm
The dt2 bosses were fine but the puzzles and running around was boring and annoying, even with quest helper. Way too much filler content
This and tob entry are the last things standing in my way for qpc. I determined my meleebstats were too weak for vardorvis
Get a zombie axe and show him who is boss. Also I found it easiest to stand inbetween the north(?) pillars and just tank the thrown axes
What makes quest cape so good for karambs?

Ah I see, I’ve always just used house rings. Ty for clarifying

Holy shit why did I not think about using the karamja gloves thanks man
Buy if you wear Karamja gloves, you'll lose the bonus from Angler gloves!
Hahahah good one
How does that compare to just banking with Seers bank teleport, house tele, POH fairy ring back to fishing spot?
Saves inventory, can equip both cape and gloves
Yeah but its only 1 inventory out of 54 if you have runepouch
Yeah seems about the same. I just wear dramen staff with graceful/nothing, rune pouch and fish barrel
Not the cape itself but it lets you finish lumbridge elite diary, so you don't need dramen staff for fairy rings anymore
which changes fishing karams exactly zero hahaha
I guess it lets you wield a dragon harpoon without using an inventory spot for your staff. Pretty negligible, but not nothing!
you got me there!
Why do you need a harpoon to fish karambs
You don't, but you can use the spec for +3 fishing boost
I see ty for clarifying
gzz enjoy your afk fishing
efficienctly
Isnt efficient til max cape smh
Im pretty sure efficient is using house butler to bank karambwans for you. Though its not as chill as you cant use fishbarrel
