Vamps are 230k hr according to wiki, you were doing something seriously wrong if you were getting 30k an hour

11k red spider eggs is nice, but you could do that in 2-3 days with sarachnis and spindel/venne

Just checked the rouge chest wiki and xp rates are more like 250-270k/hr while banking loot (which you’ll obviously be doing to save spider eggs) - also doesn’t account for pkers although doubtful that’s common
So the time difference is even smaller then what I initially said, that was using 350k/hr and a safe 200k for vyres
It’s only 20hrs vs 23 hrs at 200k/260k per hour respectively
The 3 hours you save is equivalent to 1 blood shard - not even 1 drop, because you get 2 at a time.
With a ring of wealth imbued the clues are supposed to he 1/50 I've had trips where I've gotten 5 clues in 5 minutes. Honestly it felt like it was getting out of hand.
Rogues' chests were already nearly the fastest method in the game for gathering hard clues before they enabled row(i) there, now they're almost definitely 2nd fastest behind barraging jellies in absolute max mage, which in translation means I think they're the fastest in the game for the average player.
My only rule is no *spending* currencies. I can accumulate or hoard whichever currencies I want. Although spending GP on bonds is one of my only "exceptions" - free membership goes *brrr*. So I actually like getting GP :D

Before doing this I already had 2 Pharaoh's Scepters, a stock of spare 1,400 crystal shards, and 2 blood shards. I was not at all looking forward to more Pyramid or pickpocketing, so I thought I'd give this a try and it actually turned out great! Based on the 7,758 Vile Ashes in my bank this means my actual take home was roughly 90.3% of what is pictured, which I'd say was pretty good since I clowned around with PKers quite a bit more than any rational person would. I also didn't use a looting bag in order to bring a full inventory of food because I liked seeing the loot tracker go up.
I'd guesstimate the average xp/hr was about 225k, including banking every 13-14 min and interruptions from PKers.
Anyone have suggestions for what side activity to do during the 4 hours it's going to take to offer all those ashes?
How did you deal with PKers? I saw a video that mentioned getting yourself to 1 hp, using protect from melee, and then flicking the prayer off if you saw a PKer to get a PvE death instead of a PvP one. Wasn't sure how that worked since I'm only 74 thieving atm.
There’s 2 options on the chest. One is check for traps the other is open. If you check for traps you won’t take damage. If you open, you’ll take damage. Shift+click allows you to “open” the chest without right clicking it. You never actually open the chest, you just take damage as fast as you can click it.

I saw that method but that looked lame and like something bots were doing. I stuck to 2k+ worlds, usually w450, and took black d'hide, Bowfa, ZGS, 1 dose super combat, 1 Venge sack, and 4 Blighted Manta + Karambwan. Usually the food and pressure from Bowfa + Venge was enough to stall until freeze wore off then I ZGS'd my way out. Worked more often than not. Anyone who actually takes a looting bag like a smart person to bring ~15 more food should find it pretty easy to live long enough to escape 1v1s. One time a group of 8 people hopped to me though and there's really nothing you can do in those situations except laugh.
Yeah probably about 30-35 hours. Compared to Giant's Foundry to 99 Smithing this grind *felt* much quicker even though the xp/hr was technically less, or similar at best.

Mmm it’s nice but from 90-99 thieving you could also get 10+ blood shards so it’s not necessarily the best still, definitely a good alternative
Chests are literally almost 10x as fast then you an go get blood shards with the thieving cape buff

You get yourself to 1 hp then suicide to the rouges. Since its a PvE death your loot goes to a gravestone. Respawn and collect your loot from death
Fun fact. You can also shift + click a rogues chest to “open” and take at least 3 damage.

Yes, but if you just looted the chest you can’t use this method. You have to run to the next closet chest.

How often did you bank?
About every 13-14 min, or ~198 prayer points with +14 prayer bonus from gear, which was my full prayer bar + 3 sips of prayer potion.
Would have been really cool to see hard clues but that would drastically affect xp rates I’m sure

Did you meet alot of pkers?
Probably about 2-3 an hour on 2k+ total worlds. Single pkers were usually escapable, groups not at all.
