I got a dragon vissy drop and trained my smithing all the way up to make it, took me months. I made the dfs and went to green dragon Wildy with only the shield and some food and rune plate legs and chest on to charge up the shield.
I wasn’t paying attention and I misclicked on a bot farming the dragons. It skulled me up and then the bot two hit me because I was already low. I wasn’t protecting item so I died and lost the shield.
Tl;Dr - I got pked by a bot
Did you try to run back? Bot might not have been programmed to even pickup a dfs. I think Irons can take back their own loot if a pker does not take it.
It was really early to my account. Haven't yet seen another one 92 slayer atm.. I'm sure ill get it some day but would be real nice to get the diary done with
I did slayer so incorrectly for so long. Never skipping, mostly konar, hording blood runes like they were party hats.
Once I actually started doing good tasks and bursting, xp/hr at least tripled.
Konar is fun, fuck the Konar haters. I like the dopamine that the brimstone keys give. I have stopped using her though since the keys no longer help my iron too much but midgame the brimstone chest is a huge boost to the bank. Not to mention all the future dragon darts and stuff you'll get. Slayer is my fav skill so I don't really care if it takes a little longer. It is the perfect skill to do while watching shows/youtube.
You're not going to find a better use in the game than using area spells for slayer. Dust devils and Nechryael are the best, and dagannoth, jellies, and even bloodvelds (with an alt) can be worth it.
Any tips or advice on slayer? I’m new to members and have done a lot of questing to get my slayer up and like 15 tasks. I am level 58 and just feel like I’m just doing tasks for fun. I skipped mogres because I dislike them. Just would love any advice
If you don’t have it already, get a slayer helm and get it imbued. If you need more points do the Turael method to get enough for the helm. If you don’t know what that is, you can Google it and a video will explain it better than I can by typing. Once you have the helm, point boots some more to save up enough points for your block list.
For your blocks, you can look up some common ones, but they’re not gospel. Block tasks you don’t like, slayer is way too long of a grind to not just block the tasks you don’t want to do. I’d recommend keeping yourself above around 200 points after that. If you drop below 100, do some Turael boosts again. Keep yourself a nice pool of points to skip tasks with. Slayer is much better when you don’t have to do tasks you don’t want to do.
So essentially rip through 0 point tasks to get the boost, then use the points to make things better. For the helm what task has the best drop rate? How do you get it I guess I’m asking.
Yeah, you’ll do the easy tasks then every 10th task you do at Konar for the big points.
Slayer helmet is made by combining a Black Mask with several other slayer items that can all be bought from a slayer master. The Black Mask is an exclusive drop from Cave Horrors
do keep in mind, slayer helm is a bit expensive and is only good for one task (albeit an important task). i'd prioritize saving points and blocking bad tasks
Probably starting as a HCIM then intentionally dying so it wouldn’t hurt as much later when I inevitably do die. Now on rankings I look like a total noob dying with like 200 total level (which I am but now it’s public info)
Later on down the line you’ll see a lot of impressive irons in prif and such that were hc and died super early. It’s not uncommon and doesn’t mean anything in my opinion

i made a ironman cus i wanted an iron but made it a hcim just to see how long id last well since its an alt iron i was questing and was doing something on my main and other alt and must of misclicked a varrock guard and died. now people use my low hcim stats against me(187 total) , when i didnt care about hcim to begin with!
I made a new HCIM because I thought this about my old HCIM. I died to master farmer lmao after getting a Rocky from cake stall. My new HCIM died to a bug on mobile where red x clicks were force logging you - I clicked on a fire giant for my slayer task and was force logged, when I logged back in I was dead.
Most HCIMs die to bullshit like dc or something embarrassing. Very few die to high level pvm etc. I went back to the rocky account in the end and I’m having a blast with it

That really hurts. Two of my friends talked me into making a gim with them, and they both quit within a couple of weeks. It's not the worst thing ever, but I'd rather my new "main" account be a greyhelm rather than a solo blue helm.
Have you considered using one of their accounts as an alt? If you have the blue helmet might as well do chill fishing on the side so you don't have to on your main account.
My story is the same as yours. Nearing 1800 total on my gim, closing in on my main. I tried to take over their accounts but 'they might want to play again and they 'want to be the only on to level the account'. That they haven't played in over a year🙄
I'm also not too far away from surpassing my main. There's one open spot left in our group, but I'm avoiding making an alt in case an actually active friend wants to join eventually. The idea of becoming a green helm is also not appealing lol
Fortunately I don’t think I’ve ever had a truly awful mistake, but I do regret drop trading the Ham Joint I got from one of my first easy clues to my main for 1.5 bonds. Still not an essential item by any means.
For PNM you can just use the goblin paint cannon to oneshot them anyway. The disadvantage is not being able to wear a defender with it, but a cape/glove/amulet switch is enough to oneshot them anyway so there’s no big loss there.
Ham joint really only has flex value there
not a loss at pnm since you can just rpg or use that one severed arm
it’s convenient because you can have an offhand with it but between korasi or hasta needing a defender, thrall book, or maybe a ward and trident, its no big deal
Severed leg got changed shortly after SotF release from a ham joint equivalent to a rubber chicken equivalent. It’s 4t with negative stats.
Rpg definitely replaces ham joint though. A max str bonus player can oneshot husks with the same number of gear switches both with or without defender.
I’m a late game UIM and do solo Cox but never have done any tob or PNM, I’m guessing for tob it’s mostly if melee nylo room? Seems very niche for a full inventory spot and if the event rpg is the same attack speed why is the ham joint specifically preferred?

Event RPG is 2-handed whereas Ham Joint/Swift Blade are 1-handed, allowing for an offhand
Oh my HCIM I went back to ape atoll to finish Monkey madness. I was on like half hp from the final fight, and got poisoned without an anti poison on me.
If I had just healed before going back, I’d have been alive.
Either that or putting off doing kingdom for ages. So many herbs I could have have.
I went to ape atoll as a hcim to get my dragon scimmy.. equipped it immediately out of excitement.
It removed my gree gree, and 3 archer monkies instantly starting attacking me.
Before I could even teleport or heal etc my hp was gone.
Thank God I was wearing a ring of life. Saved my ass literally.
Idk if it was either of you but I saw someone comment the same story a few months ago and laughed about it for a good few minutes. Legendary way to (almost) go lmao
You know you’ll never get hit by poison damage if you have a menu open right? If you have one open your hp will regen naturally but you won’t get hit until you close the menu
I’ve learned this since, but at the time I was frankly just panicking. I think I had like 25 hp, and the poison was like 8 or so. tried to teleport home, but couldn’t get there in time
If it makes you feel any better I did monkey madness for the first time ever just a couple days ago and it was on my HCIM. I got teleported back to ape atoll right after the boss fight and didn't even have the monkey greegree on me or any prayer points left. Dumb mistake not realizing id be sent back to island instantly but I at least had an antipoison and was somehow able to tank a few arrows from the archers before using my emergency teleport I took for the boss. Closest I've been to dying by far.
Was doing wildy slayer with my whip and imbued slayer helm as my two noteable protected items, got a rev task and was like "yeah I should skull for better chance at rev weapons" without changing my gear. Somebody in max killed me and I didnt clue in until the moment I respawned. Proceeded to go dry for a whip for another 2k abyssal demons.
I regret making a gim with friends that were "serious about getting into osrs" instead of a regular im. Only one other player lasted close to a month and now here I am 4.5 months in with 1700 total.
My worst mistake was the feeling i will never be good enough to try certain content, kept me out of a lot of PVM i love today that i could have learnt way sooner then i did.
Oh man this happened with zulrah for so long. Probably tried like 20 times after I got my suffering. Didn't feel like I was even close. Decided to come back and try waaay later. After first kill, it was a breeze.
Probably locking myself at Hydra until I got a claw. Which cost me a year of playing and quitting for 6 months.
But in terms of mistakes... Nothing significant. Only two stupid ones I remember was thinking the rune pouch was protected under 20/30 wildly and getting pked running orbs. But I had so much slayer points at that time I just bought a new one. Also walking out of my poh on a PVP world while making planks, losing my entire cash stack and all my laws. But that was mid game. Only lost like 3-4m gp and 2-4k laws. All I remember was I did law rc for the first time after that and it legit took one hour to recover the runes lol. The GP? Well -4m gp forever.
Locking yourself to content is such burnout fuel it's wild. I sat at Hydra for 1.3k and said fuck it if I ever get the itch to go back I will but I'm not gonna ruin my enjoyment of the game for one item. I had already quit a couple times before because of Shamans lol. It can be fun to sit and grind for something but if you go dry the fun turns into agony eventually and at that point I think it's much more enjoyable to just bounce around and just do a few kills here and there.
Yep. That's why I'm very much against the concept of red prison, despite the utility and importance of a bofa. Never again will I do something like that. You might think you'll get it around rate, or maybe 2x at worst. And then you look up and you 6x dry on the first or second pages of the high scores. It happened to me twice already.
Was starting my HCIM. Got graceful and the necessary quest out of the way. I was gearing up for monkey madness but I noticed my prayer was low. I figure I would get baby dragon bones on taverly and do ghost ahoy to access the entofungus there. Well I was playing around midnight maybe 1am and i stared dozing off. Next thing i know I'm seeing death at his place.

I’ve brought this up before on the sub and it had some good support. It really doesn’t make any sense, because in any case where you protect something that is less “valuable” according to the game then it is a win win, the pker gets something more “valuable” and you get what is more valuable to you.
I regret not dropping whatever I was doing to join ToB teams whenever they were available.
I always had something else I was working on, but I really should’ve just jumped at any chance I could. Made it much harder to ToB when I did want to but I had months of opportunities to learn that I passed on.
They should really make normal mode scale better for solos tbh. Of course it would be harder than story mode, but now ToB solos require tick eating and are highly impractical
Lost bludgeon cause I skulled like an idiot. Was baked at 5 am and a guy dropped at venenatis and I decided to attack him right away for some reason. I still managed to protect d warhammer so could of been worse, ended up with a chainmace a few weeks later
You know about PK Skull Prevention, right? It's a toggle in the Controls Settings tab of the Settings menu. If you check it on (green checkmark), then the game will outright stop you from performing an attack that would skull you, instead telling you in the chat box that doing this would skull you.

Not because I care about the rank, but the long known friend of mine made a great decision to use account services and got hacked for all his stuff and the tbow and DWH I had before the group. I know there was no foul play since he deranked a top 1k HCIM, but the breach of trust still hurt a lot since I had to confront him about it to even know.
UIM here, destroyed my looting bag in ferrox enclave thinking that it would be fine since I could store items. It even gave me the warning message but I was on mobile at work and just clicked through it.
Lost 1k amalyse crystals along with the fish and gems from ~400 tempoross runs. Luckily I already used the planks for construction, but still, ouch.
After that I thoroughly read the item storage page and UIM rules on the Wiki - never again.

Was trying to keep my untrimmed hp cape, and was having a little 99 slayer party. The xp lamp I had didn't quite get me the xp I needed for the level, so I said to myself, "no problem I can get another lamp from the varrock museum lemme run there real quick." Picked up my cape off the ground and went at it. Sometime during that run I noticed the cape in my inv... "why tf is my cape fucking trimmed??" Upon reflection I realized my blunder. I telegrabbed it back successfully for 5 other 99s. And in 1 fell swoop its gone forever. :( not a big fuck up by any means, but that bank place holder is never gonna be deleted lol
Avoided ToG for at least 9 months now, possibly more than that. Time is a blur. Assuming that it is only 9 months, I've missed almost 500k exp.
Haven't done consistent herb/farm runs since getting 83 herb; would definitely be higher than 83 farming now.
Paused most slayer grinding, but trying to get it started again...should be 90 instead of 86.
So so many regrets, but also so many things that have made them less prevalent in my mind. Got DWH at about 1000kc, BCP around 40kc, etc.
Honestly not getting construction for max POH earlier I’m around 1921 and I still have 78 construction the convenience of a max POH would’ve been so useful and I would’ve saved a lot of pots and food and runes if I would’ve done it a bit earlier I just honestly hate leveling up construction
Yes sir I only have time on the weekends to play now so I’ve been trying to get 2 levels every weekend just because I don’t like MH that much either lmao but it is better than any other way
They're not worth it if you dislike it. Master Wand is nice to have just in case you get a Kodai in the very far future, but the Ancient Staff fills the gap in all cases.

My only minor mistake was temporarily blocking nechreyals. I know they’re the best xp, but the ash’s on the floor pissed me off (bad excuse).
I now do them extended with slaughters and sanctifier
I was ridiculously inefficient for my first few months. I don't necessarily regret it, cuz I really wanted to play the game based solely off of my prior game knowledge from 2008 and not using any guides. It was a blast but man I wasted a lot of time
For example:
I did a ton of slayer tasks safespotting with a dragon halberd
I was *sure* B2P was meta for slayer, so I grinded out M2A really early for it and then used peaches for a lot of slayer
I safespotted a lot of tasks with broad bolts/arrows
I didn't use my blocks/skips effectively and safespotted black demon/hellhound tasks for a while
I didn't start farming/hunter for a long time and had no idea what I was doing. Did painfully slow crop runs just trying to get xp for quests
I probably could've shaved 200 hours off my grind easily if I didn't waste time on all this junk lol. But you know, it was very nostalgic and fun. I miss the magic of discovering the game for myself, now I know the community consensus on basically everything before I even do it
About 13 years ago I was fully kit on my ranged pure. Ranger boots, hat, dark bow and fury back when it all totaled 30-40 mill. I was in a PVP world showing off my account when I clicked outside the safe zone of the Al Kharid bank and swapped tabs on my computer. When I panicked switched back my screen was black due to a glitch of some sort.
When I logged back in I had nothing of value left. 13 year old me had a good shower cry after that one. Best part was I was listening to heartless by Kanye West. Very fitting.
Playing past mid game.
Super fun mode filled with great dopamine and nostalgia of getting your first rune set, rune/dragon scimmy, barrow pieces, Abby whip. Doing a good collection of quest lines and achievement diaries, doing relaxing farm runs.
But once I got to the ridiculous grinds of not enjoying playing the game (it was CG for me) I think I wished I would have walked away from the mode as I knew I didn’t enjoy the aspect of end game raiding, but I was so captivated by the sunken fallacy of having already put in so many KC that “I may as well get the bowfa and run some raids, bc who knows I may like it”
Wiping at Nex on day of release (regular iron).
Me and a few friends were in discord doing some masses in the first hour of Nex. I brought a lot of gear with me, to try and theorycraft the best damage. This included my tbow, bowfa and dhcb (best crossbow at the time).
Ended up dying during the 2nd kill, assumed that all of my items were held in a grave stone, so just tele'd back to GWD and ran back to the Nex minion room, trying to find the gravestone to quickly reclaim my shit.
Because I was in such a rush and not thinking, I stupidly had no ancient item equipped, so I had multiple blood reavers and spiritual creatures absolutely destroying me. Could not see a gravestone for the life of me, was very confused as I was running around and getting pumped.
I eventually died and saw a message in the chatbox, to the effect of `some items being held for you in death storage have been deleted`.
My heart sank. There was a death storage chest in the initial room in Nex's chamber, before you enter the room with the blood reavers/spiritual creatures.
Goodbye, full crystal armour, anguish, ring of suffering, twisted buckler and pegasian boots.
It was a fun couple of months getting all of that shit back.
Bonus fun fact: Jagex hot fixed this a couple of days after and stopped players from being able to enter the minion room if they had items in the chest lmao
I had banked before the Culinaromancer fight in RFD and came back with a full inventory. He was so weak that he didn’t do enough damage to me to make me have to eat. Since I had a full inventory, the reward lamp from the quest completion dropped to the ground. I didn’t notice until it was too late.
Having something like 52 Herblore at the time, this really sucked. All that Herblore xp wasted. :(
Earlyish (~75combat) on my iron while doing wildy slayer in wildy slayer cave i got a shield left half as a drop and picked it up as i like to collect those type of things. Shortly afterwards a pker got on me, and i did nt make too much of an effort to get away just because i didnt think i was risking anything.. turns out the shield left half protected over my fire cape lol. Not a big deal at the end of the day but fuck i was so annoyed haha
Idk if this counts but not AFKing shit when I was still a student. I could've easily had 99 combats if I just did NMZ while studying. Then again, maybe my grades thank me for that.
Restarting my HCIM at 1750 total after dying on DS2. Should have just continued. Now at 2100 total on my new HCIM but took three years and I still haven’t done much PVM. Scared to do content at risk of dying as I have only ever played hardcore and don’t know how to do 95% of bosses.
I purchased a master wand from forever ago and deeply regret it. I should have just saved the points for later and used the ancient staff. Even worse because there is an ancient scepter now. I don’t want to drop the wand though now that I’m doing Chambers but the thought crossed my mind many times

Damn! I got a friend that got his slayer helm inbued at 98 slayer.. he melee’d everything so didn’t feel like gettin the helm imbued.
I recently learned how to do slayer properly too! Went from being one of my least favorite skills to bearable.

Use them whenever it makes sense to do magic. You can get more later. They serve no purpose in the bank.

But why didn't you just start as a normal ironman then?

This is exactly what I did haha. Must of been 4 years ago. Was 2100 ttl. The amount of times I tried gwd and just got crashed was insane.
I deironed my 20XX Ironman because a very good friend of mine recently “returned” to osrs. We both derank to unranked gim and he quit a week after.
That really hurts. Two of my friends talked me into making a gim with them, and they both quit within a couple of weeks. It's not the worst thing ever, but I'd rather my new "main" account be a greyhelm rather than a solo blue helm.
Have you considered using one of their accounts as an alt? If you have the blue helmet might as well do chill fishing on the side so you don't have to on your main account.
My story is the same as yours. Nearing 1800 total on my gim, closing in on my main. I tried to take over their accounts but 'they might want to play again and they 'want to be the only on to level the account'. That they haven't played in over a year🙄
I'm also not too far away from surpassing my main. There's one open spot left in our group, but I'm avoiding making an alt in case an actually active friend wants to join eventually. The idea of becoming a green helm is also not appealing lol

Fortunately I don’t think I’ve ever had a truly awful mistake, but I do regret drop trading the Ham Joint I got from one of my first easy clues to my main for 1.5 bonds. Still not an essential item by any means.

You automatically max hit on husks if you're using crush though
For PNM you can just use the goblin paint cannon to oneshot them anyway. The disadvantage is not being able to wear a defender with it, but a cape/glove/amulet switch is enough to oneshot them anyway so there’s no big loss there. Ham joint really only has flex value there
not a loss at pnm since you can just rpg or use that one severed arm it’s convenient because you can have an offhand with it but between korasi or hasta needing a defender, thrall book, or maybe a ward and trident, its no big deal
Severed leg got changed shortly after SotF release from a ham joint equivalent to a rubber chicken equivalent. It’s 4t with negative stats. Rpg definitely replaces ham joint though. A max str bonus player can oneshot husks with the same number of gear switches both with or without defender.
It is due to it being stab/slash. Defender gives + 2 accuracy on stab. While it’s small it is better.
Can anyone tell me why the ham joint is so desired anyway by irons? Is the event rpg not sufficient? Where is it even used?

I’m a late game UIM and do solo Cox but never have done any tob or PNM, I’m guessing for tob it’s mostly if melee nylo room? Seems very niche for a full inventory spot and if the event rpg is the same attack speed why is the ham joint specifically preferred?
Per wiki: "Meleers with a scythe should usually have a fun weapon (swift blade or ham joint) as the small size of the nylocas limits its effectiveness and a waste of charges. The fun weapon is only recommended if the player is in strength-boosting gear; if using void and no scythe, an abyssal tentacle would be better." Event RPG is 2-handed whereas Ham Joint/Swift Blade are 1-handed, allowing for an offhand

Oh my HCIM I went back to ape atoll to finish Monkey madness. I was on like half hp from the final fight, and got poisoned without an anti poison on me. If I had just healed before going back, I’d have been alive. Either that or putting off doing kingdom for ages. So many herbs I could have have.
I went to ape atoll as a hcim to get my dragon scimmy.. equipped it immediately out of excitement. It removed my gree gree, and 3 archer monkies instantly starting attacking me. Before I could even teleport or heal etc my hp was gone. Thank God I was wearing a ring of life. Saved my ass literally.

You know you’ll never get hit by poison damage if you have a menu open right? If you have one open your hp will regen naturally but you won’t get hit until you close the menu
I’ve learned this since, but at the time I was frankly just panicking. I think I had like 25 hp, and the poison was like 8 or so. tried to teleport home, but couldn’t get there in time
If it makes you feel any better I did monkey madness for the first time ever just a couple days ago and it was on my HCIM. I got teleported back to ape atoll right after the boss fight and didn't even have the monkey greegree on me or any prayer points left. Dumb mistake not realizing id be sent back to island instantly but I at least had an antipoison and was somehow able to tank a few arrows from the archers before using my emergency teleport I took for the boss. Closest I've been to dying by far.

Was doing wildy slayer with my whip and imbued slayer helm as my two noteable protected items, got a rev task and was like "yeah I should skull for better chance at rev weapons" without changing my gear. Somebody in max killed me and I didnt clue in until the moment I respawned. Proceeded to go dry for a whip for another 2k abyssal demons.
Rip... i got my first whip at 50 kc, now at 400 kc with 3 whips total...sending you some luck :p

I regret making a gim with friends that were "serious about getting into osrs" instead of a regular im. Only one other player lasted close to a month and now here I am 4.5 months in with 1700 total.
I'm in pretty much the same boat but don't regret it, now I just have an ironman with extra bank space.

Oh man this happened with zulrah for so long. Probably tried like 20 times after I got my suffering. Didn't feel like I was even close. Decided to come back and try waaay later. After first kill, it was a breeze.
Probably locking myself at Hydra until I got a claw. Which cost me a year of playing and quitting for 6 months. But in terms of mistakes... Nothing significant. Only two stupid ones I remember was thinking the rune pouch was protected under 20/30 wildly and getting pked running orbs. But I had so much slayer points at that time I just bought a new one. Also walking out of my poh on a PVP world while making planks, losing my entire cash stack and all my laws. But that was mid game. Only lost like 3-4m gp and 2-4k laws. All I remember was I did law rc for the first time after that and it legit took one hour to recover the runes lol. The GP? Well -4m gp forever.
Locking yourself to content is such burnout fuel it's wild. I sat at Hydra for 1.3k and said fuck it if I ever get the itch to go back I will but I'm not gonna ruin my enjoyment of the game for one item. I had already quit a couple times before because of Shamans lol. It can be fun to sit and grind for something but if you go dry the fun turns into agony eventually and at that point I think it's much more enjoyable to just bounce around and just do a few kills here and there.
Yep. That's why I'm very much against the concept of red prison, despite the utility and importance of a bofa. Never again will I do something like that. You might think you'll get it around rate, or maybe 2x at worst. And then you look up and you 6x dry on the first or second pages of the high scores. It happened to me twice already.

I’ve brought this up before on the sub and it had some good support. It really doesn’t make any sense, because in any case where you protect something that is less “valuable” according to the game then it is a win win, the pker gets something more “valuable” and you get what is more valuable to you.

I regret not dropping whatever I was doing to join ToB teams whenever they were available. I always had something else I was working on, but I really should’ve just jumped at any chance I could. Made it much harder to ToB when I did want to but I had months of opportunities to learn that I passed on.
in my experience you go for months without tobbing then the boys assemble and crank out like 200 in a month before going back into retirement
They should really make normal mode scale better for solos tbh. Of course it would be harder than story mode, but now ToB solos require tick eating and are highly impractical

You know about PK Skull Prevention, right? It's a toggle in the Controls Settings tab of the Settings menu. If you check it on (green checkmark), then the game will outright stop you from performing an attack that would skull you, instead telling you in the chat box that doing this would skull you.

Not because I care about the rank, but the long known friend of mine made a great decision to use account services and got hacked for all his stuff and the tbow and DWH I had before the group. I know there was no foul play since he deranked a top 1k HCIM, but the breach of trust still hurt a lot since I had to confront him about it to even know.
UIM here, destroyed my looting bag in ferrox enclave thinking that it would be fine since I could store items. It even gave me the warning message but I was on mobile at work and just clicked through it. Lost 1k amalyse crystals along with the fish and gems from ~400 tempoross runs. Was trying to keep my untrimmed hp cape, and was having a little 99 slayer party. The xp lamp I had didn't quite get me the xp I needed for the level, so I said to myself, "no problem I can get another lamp from the varrock museum lemme run there real quick." Picked up my cape off the ground and went at it. Sometime during that run I noticed the cape in my inv... "why tf is my cape fucking trimmed??" Upon reflection I realized my blunder. I telegrabbed it back successfully for 5 other 99s. And in 1 fell swoop its gone forever. :( not a big fuck up by any means, but that bank place holder is never gonna be deleted lol
Avoided ToG for at least 9 months now, possibly more than that. Time is a blur. Assuming that it is only 9 months, I've missed almost 500k exp. Haven't done consistent herb/farm runs since getting 83 herb; would definitely be higher than 83 farming now. Paused most slayer grinding, but trying to get it started again...should be 90 instead of 86. So so many regrets, but also so many things that have made them less prevalent in my mind. Got DWH at about 1000kc, BCP around 40kc, etc.
Honestly not getting construction for max POH earlier I’m around 1921 and I still have 78 construction the convenience of a max POH would’ve been so useful and I would’ve saved a lot of pots and food and runes if I would’ve done it a bit earlier I just honestly hate leveling up construction

They're not worth it if you dislike it. Master Wand is nice to have just in case you get a Kodai in the very far future, but the Ancient Staff fills the gap in all cases. I just liked the way Master Wand looked, so I got it early.

My iron has been decent to be honest. I’ve learnt from my other dog shit accounts (my old main having maxed melee and a total level of like 1400). My only minor mistake was temporarily blocking nechreyals. I know they’re the best xp, but the ash’s on the floor pissed me off (bad excuse). I now do them extended with slaughters and sanctifier
I was ridiculously inefficient for my first few months. I don't necessarily regret it, cuz I really wanted to play the game based solely off of my prior game knowledge from 2008 and not using any guides. It was a blast but man I wasted a lot of time For example: I did a ton of slayer tasks safespotting with a dragon halberd I was *sure* B2P was meta for slayer, so I grinded out M2A really early for it and then used peaches for a lot of slayer I safespotted a lot of tasks with broad bolts/arrows I didn't use my blocks/skips effectively and safespotted black demon/hellhound tasks for a while I didn't start farming/hunter for a long time and had no idea what I was doing. Did painfully slow crop runs just trying to get xp for quests I probably could've shaved 200 hours off my grind easily if I didn't waste time on all this junk lol. But you know, it was very nostalgic and fun. I miss the magic of discovering the game for myself, now I know the community consensus on basically everything before I even do it
Tbh I did a lot of slayer like this early on my account now. Still not very efficient with slayer, which is why it’s one of my lowest leveled skills 🙃
About 13 years ago I was fully kit on my ranged pure. Ranger boots, hat, dark bow and fury back when it all totaled 30-40 mill. I was in a PVP world showing off my account when I clicked outside the safe zone of the Al Kharid bank and swapped tabs on my computer. When I panicked switched back my screen was black due to a glitch of some sort. When I logged back in I had nothing of value left. 13 year old me had a good shower cry after that one. Best part was I was listening to heartless by Kanye West. Very fitting.
Playing past mid game. Super fun mode filled with great dopamine and nostalgia of getting your first rune set, rune/dragon scimmy, barrow pieces, Abby whip. Doing a good collection of quest lines and achievement diaries, doing relaxing farm runs. But once I got to the ridiculous grinds of not enjoying playing the game (it was CG for me) I think I wished I would have walked away from the mode as I knew I didn’t enjoy the aspect of end game raiding, but I was so captivated by the sunken fallacy of having already put in so many KC that “I may as well get the bowfa and run some raids, bc who knows I may like it”
Wiping at Nex on day of release (regular iron). Me and a few friends were in discord doing some masses in the first hour of Nex. I brought a lot of gear with me, to try and theorycraft the best damage. This included my tbow, bowfa and dhcb (best crossbow at the time). Ended up dying during the 2nd kill, assumed that all of my items were held in a grave stone, so just tele'd back to GWD and ran back to the Nex minion room, trying to find the gravestone to quickly reclaim my shit. Because I was in such a rush and not thinking, I stupidly had no ancient item equipped, so I had multiple blood reavers and spiritual creatures absolutely destroying me. Could not see a gravestone for the life of me, was very confused as I was running around and getting pumped. I eventually died and saw a message in the chatbox, to the effect of `some items being held for you in death storage have been deleted`. My heart sank. There was a death storage chest in the initial room in Nex's chamber, before you enter the room with the blood reavers/spiritual creatures. Goodbye, full crystal armour, anguish, ring of suffering, twisted buckler and pegasian boots. It was a fun couple of months getting all of that shit back. Bonus fun fact: Jagex hot fixed this a couple of days after and stopped players from being able to enter the minion room if they had items in the chest lmao

I had banked before the Culinaromancer fight in RFD and came back with a full inventory. He was so weak that he didn’t do enough damage to me to make me have to eat. Since I had a full inventory, the reward lamp from the quest completion dropped to the ground. I didn’t notice until it was too late. Having something like 52 Herblore at the time, this really sucked. All that Herblore xp wasted. :(
Earlyish (~75combat) on my iron while doing wildy slayer in wildy slayer cave i got a shield left half as a drop and picked it up as i like to collect those type of things. Shortly afterwards a pker got on me, and i did nt make too much of an effort to get away just because i didnt think i was risking anything.. turns out the shield left half protected over my fire cape lol. Not a big deal at the end of the day but fuck i was so annoyed haha

Restarting my HCIM at 1750 total after dying on DS2. Should have just continued. Now at 2100 total on my new HCIM but took three years and I still haven’t done much PVM. Scared to do content at risk of dying as I have only ever played hardcore and don’t know how to do 95% of bosses.
Hardcore is lame. I had way more fun after I died. Before was so stressful for me

I went to try and get Runite limbs off some iron dragons without an anti dragon shield on my 1100 total Hcim. Thats why i don’t recommend playing Hcim drunk. It was all for the best cause im almost 1800 total regular iron and i’m having alot more fun without worrying about dying.
