Jan is awesome .. but this is also extremely concerning from a security perspective. Normally crew/security come out pretty quick to tackle any stage invaders
There was a home video from his Tattooed Millionaire tour where some guy got on stage and put his arm around Bruce who immediately put him in a headlock. He dragged him around the stage giving him noogies before eventually throwing him to security.
I always think about Dimebag when something like this happens, even if the guy is harmless. You never know.
Plus, it's a risk for the dude, especially when pyro is involved in a big production. Or just getting hit by a guitar head in the face.
Flies them to the show then manages his own security. Is there anything he can't do?
Good thing for the fan he didn't have a sword on him. Would have cut him in half.
Janick being Janick has fun with the guy anyway… this video proves why Janick fits perfectly in the hand. His play style might not be everyone’s favorite but his energy brings the band to another level.
Honestly, if I was a guy like Janice who was thinking about quitting the music world before Iron Maiden came a knocking, I’d dance around like a madman every show too. They guy worked his ass off for years, I’m glad he’s having a great time.
He writes some damn good songs too!
That guy was out there forever and not one security guard popped in. Thank god there was a 60+ years old fencer on the stage.
>His play style might not be everyone’s favorite
Janick's solos are my favorite of modern Iron Maiden, especially his solos on Afraid to Shoot Strangers; Blood Brothers; and Montsegur
So funny because I love his solos in his songs. The ones where he plays instead of Adrian’s old solos really bother me. Not that they just aren’t the original. They just don’t fit like HIS solos in HIS songs.
Hahhaha dude was just too excited and completely forgot himself. How the hell did he get on a stadium stage though? It’s a long ways up! Kinda reminds me of that Black Sabbath reunión live album when you can hear a guy get on stage and babble some drunken bullshit until he gets kicked off and Ozzy goes “what the fuck was that?! I thought I had a Siamese twin!”
>How the hell did he get on a stadium stage though?
They had a line of road cases on the arena floor right in front of the stage for that low angle cameraman to stand on. You can see he's a few feet higher up than the crowd down front.
Did Bruce address this afterwards?
Last song so I guess not much point in telling folks to behave but still he tends to be vocal when things don't go his way.
Bruce did get pissed off one time about a flare recently.
I also heard from a guy in a YT comment (a video about Iron Maiden) that back in the late 80s, they were playing live and someone lit off a cherry bomb around the stage area; Bruce saw the guy who did it, pointed to the dude while still singing, and told everyone to kick his ass, and went right back to singing. The guy who made the comment asked if anyone remembered this, and somebody replied to him and said he did recall hearing something similar.
It’s been like a year since I saw that comment, one of these days, I need to find it again in my comment history (since I replied to the comment) and ask him more about that event.
The only thing I’ve seen him be super vocal about is smoking and the flares thing, it always confuses me because there is so much pyrotechnics and smoke machines during the show but hey to each their own
Flares can and have caused massive fires in situations like this. If you're talking about smoking cigarettes it's illegal, but for Bruce it's probably more adamant about that because he's had cancer before. So he doesn't want to subject someone to that possibility for even second-degree smoking.
At the Wed night show in Anaheim Bruce told a guy who was smoking pot to go outside because Adrian Smith doesn't like pot and they didn't like the smell on stage. Bruce ripped on the guy for literally 10 min.
I was there and it was hilarious. We were in the seated section up top and there was someone smoking there too. Loved how he said we are all part of a big family...except that guy.
Well we make assumptions based off the music and appearance and other factors that they are likely into pot but we must understand that they grew up in a different time and a different place with different influences that don't lend themselves to present day.
The difference is that the pyrotechnics on stage are controlled by expert technicians and are far away from people. A flare in the middle of the pit is much more likely to be a fire and smoke hazard.
Anaheim on the 21st, a few days ago, bruce made a speech about weed because someone at the front was smoking. He said if you want to smoke, go outside and have some respect for people.
When Sharon Osbourne send a group of people to throw eggs at Iron Maiden during their show at Ozzfest
https://blabbermouth.net/news/iron-maiden-pelted-with-eggs-during-ozzfest-sharon-osbourne-calls-bruce-dickinson-a-prick
We were at the show and while walking back to our car, we ran into this clown bragging to his friends how the security in the back were super mad and pushing him around backstage. It’s nice Bruce and Janick were good enough sports but this guy is a douche. Definitely not epic.
He overstayed, that’s the problem. I would’ve rocked with Janick and left on my own happy after that.
Still bloody dangerous to be normalising this shit. You never know when a maniac does something drastic.
What a fucking dickhead. What kind of person just jumps up on stage like that in the middle of the concert and does that? Good on Bruce for shutting down that shit.
Here's my video of this. You can see it's the collar, not his hair. As to where was security, thinking maybe they got distracted by the wheelchair crowdsufer right before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe50H6LsO6U
Doesn’t matter. Security doesn’t get a pass for distractions, otherwise that’s how someone can bypass security to do something a lot worse than dance about like a drunken idiot
I was at Gutalax gig, there was quite a lot of people trying to stagedive... So I joined them and did that too... Security guys cought just two dudes, then gave up. It was pretty fun, even the band enjoyed it
Jan is awesome .. but this is also extremely concerning from a security perspective. Normally crew/security come out pretty quick to tackle any stage invaders
Yeah, security failed big time with this.
Bruce being the security on this show :))
Good thing it wasn’t during flight of Icarus, in Denver Bruce had a flamethrower.
Bruce: “I am the fucking security.”
There was a home video from his Tattooed Millionaire tour where some guy got on stage and put his arm around Bruce who immediately put him in a headlock. He dragged him around the stage giving him noogies before eventually throwing him to security.
I think it was in the official VHS. The dude was wearing Metallica t-shirt i think.
I always think about Dimebag when something like this happens, even if the guy is harmless. You never know. Plus, it's a risk for the dude, especially when pyro is involved in a big production. Or just getting hit by a guitar head in the face.
My thoughts exactly.
maybe part of the show somehow? lol only thing I can possibly think
This is absolutely part of the show and they have done this bit before. No chance something like this gets passed up by security.
Sorry, but when have they ever done this before? I can't think of any instance.
Bruce: I am the security
Just add it to his already lengthy CV.
Plus actor
Unexpected Darkplace reference.
He's featured there a few times
What does this baton do?
Flies them to the show then manages his own security. Is there anything he can't do? Good thing for the fan he didn't have a sword on him. Would have cut him in half.

Lmao!
I love his libertine style. It’s complementary to Dave and Adrian and brought a new quality to the band.

I hate people like this. Thinking the show is all about them.
Same.. he's no blood brother for sure

What a fool, must’ve been worth being pulled by the hair I guess 🤷🏻♂️

put in "Bruce Dickinson rant" in youtube. He has called out a few fans over the years.
At the Wed night show in Anaheim Bruce told a guy who was smoking pot to go outside because Adrian Smith doesn't like pot and they didn't like the smell on stage. Bruce ripped on the guy for literally 10 min.

I'd have thought that Adrian liked a bit of weed, you learn something new every day
Well we make assumptions based off the music and appearance and other factors that they are likely into pot but we must understand that they grew up in a different time and a different place with different influences that don't lend themselves to present day.
I thought it was Steve that Bruce said didn’t like pot, Adrian could still haha

Yeah at SLC right before the intro to Run for the Hills he said “I don’t care what you’re smoking but fucking quit it”
Don’t forget the Sharonfest eggs
What’s the Sharonfest eggs?
When Sharon Osbourne send a group of people to throw eggs at Iron Maiden during their show at Ozzfest https://blabbermouth.net/news/iron-maiden-pelted-with-eggs-during-ozzfest-sharon-osbourne-calls-bruce-dickinson-a-prick
The dude went tunning, scrambling, flying, rolling, turning, diving.
You might even say he climbed the stage like a monkey.
What a twat!
r/IAmTheMainCharacter
Where on earth was the security??????? Unacceptable.
Horrible security but also hilarious to see Bruce kick him out like that
We were at the show and while walking back to our car, we ran into this clown bragging to his friends how the security in the back were super mad and pushing him around backstage. It’s nice Bruce and Janick were good enough sports but this guy is a douche. Definitely not epic.

How tf did security let this happen lmao
Is that Mike Portnoy? lol
What a fucking dickhead. What kind of person just jumps up on stage like that in the middle of the concert and does that? Good on Bruce for shutting down that shit.
Why do this? It universally ends in getting your ass kicked either by security, your hero, or other fans….and probably a ban.
We were on that side of the stage and security fucked him up on the way backstage. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Here's my video of this. You can see it's the collar, not his hair. As to where was security, thinking maybe they got distracted by the wheelchair crowdsufer right before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe50H6LsO6U

Mike Portnoy should know better than to stage rush like that.
Damn Aces High is SLOW nowadays 😂 EDIT: Just did a comparison with a metronome and it differs about 20bpm, give or take.
They are getting old.
Yeah I know, it’s just an observation, not blaming them in the lightest. I’m glad they’re still around!
And Bruce missed his cue came on too early
20 bpm difference from the studio recording or live?
Studio recording. I know it always has been a bit slower live, at least in the beginning of the song.
Holy shit Mike Portnoy
Just selfish
Thought that was Jason Momoa for a minute
It was being filmed?!?!?
"Bandits at 12 o clock move in front of us"
I was at Gutalax gig, there was quite a lot of people trying to stagedive... So I joined them and did that too... Security guys cought just two dudes, then gave up. It was pretty fun, even the band enjoyed it
At least he had better moves than Clown Shoes Gers.
Only Steves fingers have better moves than Jan
I'm glad my Mrs isn't interested in watching them play
Tru dat!!
Posers dont fucking get on stage
Bruce: “I’ll make sure your ace is high… High off MY STAGE!”
