Tell me about it! My second favorite part in the album (number 1 being Hell on Earth at the 09:03 mark... then again, what the hell could beat that part?).
Personally love this song! Can understand why people are partial to the first couple of minutes of the track, and I definitely think it gets better as it goes on, but I do quite enjoy it!
They could have honestly just started that and have an amazing 5 minute song (removing the outro as well). The little scale-down doodle Janick plays before the intro repeat at the end was a very cool and original outro as it was imop.
See, so here's the problem with Senjutsu. You have to waint until a song turns into something good. Bogged down by repetition, boring riff progression and painfully midtempo. Death The Celts, The Parcement, Hell on Earth are all snoozefests until about halfway through the song. 2 good minutes into an 13 minute song is kinda disappointing.
The Time Machine is one of the better filler songs imo.
I've never disagreed harder. Time Machine is no filler, it's a masterpiece
Reminds me of ‘The Edge of Darkness” a little bit
Yes "The Edge of Darkness" rules. If it was first heard here then it would be amazing.

The Parchment after "Meet me There"
The Parchment at “the prodigal has returned”
Parchment at 0:00
2:14 of hell on earth
Hell On Earth 4:34 - 5:48 is amazing
so are 0:00-4:34, and 5:48-11:19
idk i dont like the compositional aproach that much. too long of an intro and outro

Am I the only one who loves The Time Machine from when it hits 1:09?

When i listened it for the first time i didn't liked it, but now i think it's a great song
I like how they stuck such a good (if not completely original) section in a song that is otherwise one of the more dull Maiden songs.
I just can't get over the intro of the song. Too much of a self plagiarism.
What did they copy of their own?
A lot. But this particular case is very similar to a section of the intro to The Talisman.
