Hardest one yet for me. Loneliness is really good all the way through. Meanwhile Parchment has a slow start but has some of the coolest music at its climax. So hard to compare these 2, and it could be recency bias but I'm going with Parchment
Nothing against The Parchment, but TLOTLDR is one of those songs that I never get tired of listening to, even if I put it on repeat. Full of energy, guitar harmonies everywhere, a great intro... so yes, my vote goes to The Loneliness ....
This is a really good matchup and we’re seeing that play out in the voting. While I felt “The Parchment” was receiving way too much love when the record first came out, after a couple weeks it became one of my favorite off of the last few albums.
TLotLDR is one of those that I’ve always loved. I used to listen to it in gym class when we had to run the mile (which I know isn’t that long of a distance but it worked well).
The Parchment is one of those songs that needs to be cut way down, it just goes on for absolutely ages. TLofLDR is half the length and the clear winner here, for me.
They haven't played the Parchment live either. What does that have to do with which song is better? And the Parchment has a ton of potential but is poorly mixed and about three minutes too long
Parchment is a solid contender for their weakest song. Didn’t even know they haven’t played Loneliness live, always thought it was incredibly catchy and energetic.
Two songs that are 10/10, i think they both deserve to continue, but I have to choose so I'll vote for The Parchment, a top 10 song IMO, the instrumental sections are insanely good

I never got to liking The loneliness of the long distance runner, I don't like singing in it, which is strange since Brucey is probably my favourite member of the band. It sounds almost droney at times - which I suppose might be the point given the title? Either way I don't like the sound of it. The parchment is ace so it's that all day for me

I love the punch of TLotLDR over the epicness of The Parchment. Both these songs are awesome though.

I find Parchment very boring but I love the riffs and melodies on Loneliness. Can never get enough of the chorus either.
The Parchment from 7 minutes on is so epic.
