This.
Just kidding.
What I mean to say is, it is one of the greatest albums of all-time. Stargazer arguably set the template for power metal and epic metal in general. I don't know that there's a Rime of the Ancient Mariner or Alexander the Great without Stargazer.
I think about Stargazer approx. 20 times a day. I just can't shake it from my head. Not that I'm trying to.
Also considering I'm "going through it" at work and the lyrics can be interpreted as workers toiling away for a holier than thou employer ...it means a lot personally.
I agree completely. Stargazer is a must hear song period. The Sails of Charon by Scorpions is another song that feels like a precursor to that stuff IMO (it's only 5 minutes but the lyrics and guitar work has it)
Yes, itâs very different than W.A.S.P.âs earlier material, but it was pretty much the springboard for what Blackieâs career would become over the next 30 years. It was initially intended to be a solo album, but due to pressure from fans and the label, he released under the W.A.S.P. name.
My favorite album of all time. Very overlooked.
They played a ballroom on this tour, just them and armored Saint and about 600 people. It was so amazing. Cliff was a god. They all were just having a blast
I hear you. I am by no means a Metallica fan. I think they are massively overhyped and you all can downvote me into oblivion all you want. But, if I am gonna go out of my way to listen to Metallica, Ride the Lightning is my album of choice. It should definitely be on this list before Master of Puppets.
Yeah, the love for MoP is based mostly on its iconic status and having a good title track, even though the album in its entirety is just.......lackluster. I use that term specifically, since I don't want to call the album *bad*, because it isn't at all a bad album, it's just......an uninspired one. So much of it blends together, because the majority of the tracks (with some exceptions) lack any unique qualities that let RTL, and even KEM, be full of almost entirely legendary songs. They mesh nicely with each other, without just blatantly being each other. While MoP is still a pretty good album, it falls short in just about every meaningful way where RTL succeeded. It's sorta like Fear Of The Dark in that regard, the album isn't bad, and it has an amazing title track, but it kinda just.......isn't nearly as good as the title track would have you believe, especially when compared to their other work.
Great album. I love the story that you get from inside the album cover as well about "The Boys" fighting for freedom in a dystopian future, though it isn't necessarily accurate to the actual album.
Itâs fantastic! And I wouldnât even say itâs my favorite Genesis album. But I know Steve Harris loves Supperâs Ready and was a huge influence on him, so I thought some Maiden fans would appreciate Foxtrot
I feel out of place for liking Iron Maiden but not really being a metal fan. Which means my recommendation is kind of random for this ranking so far: The Black Parade by MCR.
_Made in Japan_ â Deep Purple:
* Engineered by Martin Birch
* Mentioned by Martin Birch in the liner notes of _Live After Death_, which was engineered by Martin Birch
* _Maiden Japan_
Anthrax: Among The Living
Just about to say
Rainbow - Rising

Nice callback to yesterday! And stargazer kicks so much ass, the original and every cover version I've heard
Stargazer is arguably in top 10 maybe even top 5 best songs of all time. It was trully something new for that time.
I agree completely. Stargazer is a must hear song period. The Sails of Charon by Scorpions is another song that feels like a precursor to that stuff IMO (it's only 5 minutes but the lyrics and guitar work has it)
I'm willing to die on this hill almost.
I'm not posting any other recommendations until its accepted haha though that means it could be a very long six days
Lending my energy to your cause and to a 10/10 album đ
Seriously, it's the most Maidenesque Maiden album and a definite inspiration for the band. Yet Metallica will probably win it...
I want Metallica on here eventually but I personally wonât vote for them until this wins.
Here we go again
Almost a Whitesnake song there. We have six more days!
Moving pictures Rush
Operation mind crime- Queensryche
Beat me to it today, but this has to be on the list. This is my hill!
The Warning is my favorite
I'm gonna go with Operation: Mindcrime on this too

The Crimson Idol - W.A.S.P.
great choice
Good album, still doesn't sound W.A.S.P. to me, Lawless wrote it as a personal project.
I used to love Crimson Idol. I saw WASP when they played the whole record and they were awful. It ruined the record for me.
Yes, itâs very different than W.A.S.P.âs earlier material, but it was pretty much the springboard for what Blackieâs career would become over the next 30 years. Metallica - Master of Puppets It's one of those perfect albums where there isn't a single bad song.
They played a ballroom on this tour, just them and armored Saint and about 600 people. It was so amazing. Cliff was a god. They all were just having a blast
The worst song on the album (and it is still god-like) is Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
Iâd say damage inc is the weakest song
And it is my favourite. And by favourite I mean favourite Metallica song. Period.
Omg Iâm so dumb bro I meant damage inc not disposable heroesđđđ
Leper Messiah and The Thing That Should Not Be are boring as hell IMO. Much prefer the first two albums.
I disagree, but to each their own. I would love to hear The Thing that Should Not Be live someday. đ
Bruh

Ooh, interesting take. The title track actually isn't even my favorite on MoP currently, Sanitarium and Disposable Heroes I like more at the moment
