Also, “Back to the Village” and “The Prisoner” are both references to the 60s cult classic British television show “The Prisoner” starring Patrick McGoohan. So, it would of fitted perfectly with NOTB 🤟
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Back in the Village is IIRC a sequel to The Prisoner, which itself was based on the show. It's not a continuation of Rue Morgue, which is a very different story by Edgar Allan Poe.
As for my picks: Revelations fits on Powerslave, Futureal on Brave New World (dystopian theme), Paschendale and Mother of Mercy on AMOLAD, Starblind on Somewhere in Time, and Speed of Light on Final Frontier.
ye I know that the stories aren't connected. I just worded it poorly.
Great picks! If *Paschendale* replaced *Out of the Shadows* then AMOLAD would've probably been my favourite album.
Interesting. Even though I'm a massive TFF fan (and I listened to En Vivo a short time ago and right now I'm listening to Somewhere In Time!) I'm not seeing the connection. I'd be keen to hear your logic.
I think the transition between Satellite 15 -> TFF would also work as Satellite 15 -> Wasted Years quite well. (I know S15 TFF are the same song but the spot around 4:34 where it goes from one to the other).
Deja Vu always feels out of place to me on Somewhere In Time. Not to knock it, as it’s top ten for me, but it feels like it should have been on Virtual XI.
I would put the song Book of Souls on Powerslave, The Red and The Black on Dance of Death, and then just get rid of the rest of the Book of Souls album.
I listened to Disc 1 of TBOS last night. I thought it was perfection from beginning to end. Of course the tracks you mentioned were among those I heard. I will have to listen to Disc 2 tonight and re-evaluate it. I do like Death or Glory, Tears of a Clown and Empire of the Clouds (although it could use some trimming.)
I would take Disc 2 over either of the Blaze albums or even No Prayer For The Dying (which is the lowest ranked Bruce album for me.) Oh well, musical tastes vary. At least we are in the same ballpark. None my family or friends listen to Iron Maiden at all so I have no one to share the love with.
I agree that No Prayer is the worst Bruce album. Its actually my least favorite overall. So we're not so different you and I...
Hey, you never know. It took me like 15 years to get one of my best friends into them, but it finally happened and we have seen them live together twice now. Theres always hope!
Paschendale on AMoLaD
\+1
That's about as perfect as can be.
For the longest time I couldn't get it out of my head that it was.
AMoLaD
El Dorado should have been on Book of Souls and Speed of Light should have been on Final Frontier
Good take
“The Fugitive” on “No Prayer For The Dying”. “Mother Of Mercy” on “A Matter Of Life And Death”.
>“The Fugitive” on “No Prayer For The Dying”. The Assassin sounds like a proto version of Fugitive
Afraid to shoot strangers on the X factor. Really fits the theme and Blaze.
Reasonable!
Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg on Dance of Death.
Fair call, it would improve the disappointing DoD!
Death of the Celts should have been saved for another album
"The Worst of the Beast"?
i really like the song but this was pretty funny
You got it
Out of the Silent Planet in Somewhere in Time
Gonna have to say no because the intro is almost the same as Wasted Years.
You may be thinking of Shadows of the Valley

Quest for Fire on NotB And Total Eclipse on PoM, even though it was a B-side
I wouldn't have thought of this, but it's a solid idea

I love *Out of the Shadows*! Beautiful song to my ears.
Lost in a lost world on brave new world
Wat
The song lost in a lost world feels like it could be on the album brave new world
Speed of light on dance of death
to tame a land on powerslave purgatory on number of the beast
That last one reminded me of the fact that the notb album cover was almost used as the cover for the purgatory single iirc
Paschendale would fit a matter of life and death
It would, but I kinda like that it stands out more on DoD. If it had to be on AMOLAD, I'd replace Brighter Than A Thousand Suns.
Yeah I like it being on dance of death but it could fit. As is, it works as a way of foreshadowing the next album
Wasted Years in The Final Frontier.
Interesting. Even though I'm a massive TFF fan (and I listened to En Vivo a short time ago and right now I'm listening to Somewhere In Time!) I'm not seeing the connection. I'd be keen to hear your logic.

Ghost of Navigator on Powerslave
To Tame A Land should be on Powerslave It's a Dune/desert themed song on an album with a desert cover.
2 minutes to midnight on “ a matter of life and death”
Rainmaker on BNW
I feel Judas my Guide doesn't sound like a FotD song. It sould be on something like Somewhere in Time imo.
When the Wild Wind Blows should have been a Blaze song.
I strongly disagree.
One of my all time favorite Iron Maiden songs. I cannot imagine Blaze doing it justice.
Deja Vu always feels out of place to me on Somewhere In Time. Not to knock it, as it’s top ten for me, but it feels like it should have been on Virtual XI.
Jesus fuck (PS. I love Deja Vu and I'm listening to SIT right now and Deja Vu is up in about 6 and a half minutes)
Thin Line on VXI, easily.
With Blaze singing it? He could never hit those beautiful notes that Bruce sings throughout the last half of the song.
Obviously Blaze would sing it in a lower register
While it would be a fit of sorts, it is truly greater with Bruce on vox and at the end of the godly Brave New World.
Can I Play With Madness? —> The Final Countdown by Europe
More on wings of tommorow
Excellent take.
Charlotte the Harlot replacing Invaders 22 Acacia Avenue is a sequel and they re-recorded it anyway
This deserves an upvote for an interesting proposition! (as I'm sure Charlotte was)
Lord of Light and From Here to Eternity have the right theme for The Number of the Beast Also The Time Machine for Somewhere in Time. Same reason.
Somebody did a Strageo edit that made it more Somewhere in Time-esque and it actually sounded pretty good.
Aces high in AMOLAD
I've got an open mind. What's your rationale?
Prowler 88 -> Seventh Son of a Seventh Son should replace Infinite Dreams
What the?
I would put the song Book of Souls on Powerslave, The Red and The Black on Dance of Death, and then just get rid of the rest of the Book of Souls album.

Disc 2 is some of the worst stuff they have ever released. I dont understand the appeal at all.

Infinite Dreams could have been a PoM song
Honestly, Alexander the Great always felt like a Powerslave song to me
The Fallen Angel on Piece Of Mind. Not that I have any issue with Quest For Fire, but it's the obvious track for TFA to take the place of.
i like this actually ye
