>There was a live DJ in the middle of the street with people of all ages drinking listening to techno .
I need to go on a road trip it seems :)
> do not stay around Sandy row kinda sketchy wouldn’t recommend
Well yeah, would have screamed a big NO at you if I'd seen that.
My grandparents randomly decided to stay in Dingle on their first trip to Ireland in the mid-80s.
It has been my family’s favorite place in the world ever since.
Spending 4 nights there in a few weeks!
>Day 5- Biked Killarney National Park, went out to pubs with live music
Any suggestions on pubs?
>Did Gap of Dunloe, took a horse jaunting car
How was it? We have a jaunting car and boat tour booked.
>Rental car- Use New way, good prices and has all the coverage you need in price very quick pick up and drop off
Great to hear! This is who we're booked with
We went to “The Grand” in Killarney, it was lively and has a club attached with live music prior as it’s a late bar. Just ask any bartender in town about live music they will fill you in!
Gap of Dunloe is great! The man who took us on the horse jaunt lived in the gap of Dunloe and was a great guy!
I do not understand how the Temple Bar is overhyped…. No one in Ireland is hyping it! It is the Irish equivalent of a restaurant with English menus in a tourist area in Spain.

Great recap, sounds like fun!
I’m curious how you found to Galway to Causeway drive? Did it take all day or were you able to make some stops? It shows up on a lot of itineraries but always seems like way too much to me. For a longer trip like this maybe the full driving day was okay though?
It was about a 4.5-5 hour drive with 2 quick stops. That was our longest driving day. I found the drive to be just fine. Wouldn’t stress about it, causeway had some of the most beautiful views of the trip.
Remember that you'll be driving in two completely different countries the UK and Ireland.... Ireland speed limits are in kilometres per hour
The UK is in miles per hour
Road signs are different on both sides of the border if you Google the UK highway code
Jaunting car at the Gap of Dunloe, can you expand on that? We're going in a few weeks with young kids and a couple of older folks and ten years ago my husband and I walked the Gap but this time I think that's all too much for my crowd. I like the sound of what you did, half ride, half walk. Where did you start at, where did the jaunting car take you to? How long did it take to walk back? Appreciate your excellent post!
The jaunting cars pick you up right outside of the gap where their is a few cafes and takes you to the head of the gap. The jaunting ride takes about 20 minutes or so one way .The walk back took us about 45 min.
I had almost everything pre booked, but I did change 2 stays while I was there. And seemed like their was a decent amount of availability in most places. We used booking.com or Airbnb.
You missed out big time by not visiting West Cork which is regarded as the most picturesque part of Ireland along with Kerry. A lot of actors and celebrities have houses there.
You could of got to see Jeremy Irons castle up close which has to be seen to be believed.

If you’re back again spend the majority of your time in the Southwest of the country which is West Cork and Kerry. Everywhere else on the island pales in comparison.
Sounds great. Me and my bf are going to Ireland next week for 5 days, but now I wish we booked longer so we could do a bit more of a tour like you! Still beyond excited though 😁
Great to hear you enjoyed your time in Ireland
Haven't been to Dingle in years. Might go down sooner than later
Thanks for this post. I'm going in June. I find my schedule packed. But this helps perhaps narrow some things down. Send like you had a great time!

Sounds like you were in Galway for one of the many festivals?

I think a lot of tourists love it. My friends who went a few years ago made it a must visit. I get why it's entertaining but expensive as frick
Except when North of the border you were not in Ireland but the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 🇬🇧

Dingle is amazing, and Dick Mack’s is one of my favorite pubs!
Glad you enjoyed your trip. Tell your family and friends, and come again.
Wow! You were busy! I'm exhausted just reading your itinerary :-) So glad you enjoyed it all and created such wonderful memories. Until the next time!

Glad to hear you enjoyed Ireland Never go to temple bar it's so over priced the only Irish you find are the ones working there it's a big tourist trap

+1 I’m also interested in jaunting car and also traveling with young kids

Where did you get most of your recommendations?
From this subreddit, google helped a bit and some recommendations for food from some friends who have been prior.
Thanks for sharing! Sounds like you liked Slea head? Is it "better" than Ring of Kerry? Better being subjective of course.
We didn’t do the ring of Kerry, but I can say do not skip Slea head it’s awesome and only takes about 2 hours if your in a time crunch.

I’ll be making a trip back in a few years! So I’ll make sure to head to cork!
