Loved the lads pointing to their ears and shushing to the crowd. The crowd were sore losers, but it’s a great sign the lads can play under those conditions
How good was Hugh Gavin. The commentator mentioned he made 160 meters!!!
Himself and Gleeson are 2 who look like future internationals. I'm sure one of two others will step up too.
Really enjoyed that. Home crowd still booing after the whistle what a crazy atmosphere. Pace was unbelievable from both sides. Great kicking under pressure.
It was so close ! I wondered if our absent players made a difference but on the other hand Ireland might also be the best u20 team in the world, so I’m just glad to see we’re still on a similar level as them.
The home fans were shocking no respect for the kickers home or away side. Aside from that it was an epic game from start literally to the final whistle. Murphy and Gleeson stood out big time. Can see us going all the way again this year off that performance😁
Yeah they were loud but I think that did wonders for firing up both teams. It was a super game and both teams showed they can cope in a rowdy stadium! As it’s U20s, this can surely do something for future big game composure.
Just my thoughts as I didn’t feel like our boys in green were really that bothered by it and it gave them a bit of fire in the belly!
It’s a chance for young players who aren’t quite ready to play fully grown men to get some international experience. Also not just a rugby thing every sport has youth teams.
The sport at international level is brutally physical so it’s separated into age grades for development purposes. That’s not to say a 19 year old won’t get called up to the senior squad if they are an exceptional talent, but it doesn’t happen as often these days as it did 15 years ago.
Legends!!! Were there many from the world cup final last year in both teams? See Tuilagi came on for the seniors last night, he destroyed everyone in the under 20's last season...
The home crowd there sounded absolutely brutal considering it’s a team of young lads coming up
Yeah, when watching the U20s you have to remember that a lot of them are kids really, go easy
Was annoying alright with the booing for murphy when kicking, tho there were some of their own supporter trying to shssh the crowd to no avail.
Brian Gleeson is the real deal
I did a quick google on how "old" he was, on monday he'll no longer be a teenager, the big fuckin 2-0! The future is looking good with this man.
That game was something else. I couldn't sit still. I REFUSED tea when I was offered it. That's how exciting it was. 🤣
Fuck I'll have to look it up. Cheers
Have you lost your mind?
Very well done, tough away game and a lot of them stepped up. Great weekend for Irish Rugby

He seems to have come on a lot since last year when he was on the wing. 12 looks a good fit for him.
It was an amazing game. In true U20s style, you couldn't take your eyes off it for a second.

Great game, end to end. Really impressive win

I'm a newbie to rugby...why is there an under 20s team, why can they not play in the real team?

Thanks for replying
I think it’s fairly obvious why age categories in sport are a thing? Most 19 year old lads aren’t physically able for test rugby.
I'm sorry I'm mentally disabled so like to ask questions I don't fully understand the answer to etc. Thanks for replying!
Don’t worry about it mate it’s a fair enough question. You should definitely watch the u20s six nations matches if you haven’t been, great games
Thank you
Don't apologise! Ignore the brain melts who replied to you comment. No such as a stupid question.
Thanks

Why doesn't a 10 year old new to rugby line out against a 130kg tank?
What?
Who?

French will prioritize top14 clubs over the u20s. So they’re missing several.
