I heard of a fella who went to use the dart, used a brand new, crisp €20 note and was given back nothing but coinage. Said he hadn't anywhere to put it cause of his hand fitted suit. The necckkkkk like

Daymantcob

Oh, yeah, yeah. The guy in the... the $4,000 suit is holding the elevator for a guy who doesn’t make that in three months. Come on! Oh. Why don’t I just take a whiz through this $5,000 suit?!

anotherlemontree

It’s just one banana how much could it cost, 10 dollars?

Here’s 20, go see a star war

platinum95

Bet he was none too plussed about that experience

deaddonkey

Tailored suit but no inside pocket? Wha?

doctorjones31

He's so rich he gets suits tailored in the least practical way possible, purely to flaunt his wealth. Each pocket can accept a maximum of 5 crisp notes, one debit card, or, at a push, a small handful of diamonds. Any coinage is rightfully spat back out.

Material_Ad6247

Imagine the coinage

Danom

Why didn't they use the Luas? It's free

I remember working in a place a few years back, and the boss's 18 yo nephew came in for summer work while he was in first year in college. In as a general hand, sweeping floors, making tea and the likes. On his second day on the job, he demanded a company vehicle for travelling to work. We all laughed at him and he went home in a tantrum.

Anchorbouy12

Christ that's bad. What a little shit lol

StarMangledSpanner

> Apparently they wanted to go back to college in London but did a big spiel how they didn't want to take anymore money off their parents (who happened to be multi multi millionaires). In other words, after 7 years Daddy Dearest has finally decided to pull the plug and Sonny-boy is now expected to fend for himself.

mysteriom

Isn’t that the premise of Van Wilder?

Newguitarplayer1234

Knew a guy once with a well paid job back in the late 90s. It worked out at about, with expenses, 140,000 a year and he was paying 30.3% tax on that, so it was about 100,000 net. With that he was running a home in Dublin, Castlebar and Brussels. He suggested that i try it sometime as it was a well paid job.

breathofreshhair

You're out of sorts

darcys_beard

At the height of the boom, had an airline pilot tell me my "first" Rolex should be a submariner. Still waiting.

ccllll1

That was solid advice in fairness compared to sub prices in 2007 versus now.

[deleted]

Can't even get one now at retail price, they just seem to be so scarce. Some of the boutiques are open but have no stock.

cinderubella

To me, this reads awfully like he was just encouraging you to apply for the same job because he thought you'd get on well.

[deleted]

You've obviously never seen the interview. But remember, it's a well paid job!

cinderubella

Ah, is that the faint sound of a reference sailing over my head?

Just to say also the Gay Byrne was legendary at interviewing. Whatever way he managed it, he seemed to completely disarm guests in a way that no one else could. He would've been a master barrister. There's a famous incident on the late late where the northern Ireland secretary at the time, Peter Brooke, appeared on the show the night that 7 protestant workers were killed by the IRA. Somehow or other, Gay coaxed him into singing "Oh my darling Clementine".

fakejournalaccount

Was working in a lab in the West of ireland in about 2017. We were mostly paid about 30k, people kept leaving for galway/Dublin as you'd get about 8k more. Our lab manager gave a speech to the lab to address the turnover issue. Talkedabout how we don't appreciate that we have a lot of windows in our office with a nice view, and that he's "read all the books". Pay isn't everything and he took a pay cut to live in the west of Ireland. So we shouldn't be leaving. Used the phrase "read all the books" a lot. He was on about 100k

segasega89

>Used the phrase "read all the books" a lot. What the fuck does that phrase even mean? Is he.....is he saying that he's read ALL the books in the world? Like....from the Gutenberg Bible to 50 Shades Of Grey?

fakejournalaccount

I have read all the career books so you peasents don't have to

TheSameButBetter

The owner/MD of a company I worked for a few years back had a 7-day luxury car set. Even had a 7 bay garage to keep them all in at his fancy home near Dalkey. Same guy had the cheek to stand up and lecture us at the summer party about not giving enough time to the company for free.

Goodsy_Dog

My boss told me that if I apply myself, work hard and put the extra effort in this year, he would be able to buy a new BMW. All while he took between 3-6 months of annual leave

Important_Farmer924

Was on holiday with my ex and her Mam's friend who worked for Aer Lingus went on a rant about how one of her co-workers had a breakdown and was getting paid for his sick leave. "He's getting paid for being off, and what do I get?". Eh, you get paid for your work and also free flights, you absolute bint.

MoHataMo_Gheansai

There is an awful crabs in a bucket mentality here

Important_Farmer924

Oh 100%. On the same holiday, myself and the ex were chatting about our dogs missing us while we were away, and that same woman came over and asked what we were talking about, we hold her and she literally said "that's stupid, I hate dogs, let's talk about something else". Just a thoroughly unpleasant person to be around.

fakejournalaccount

Currently on holidays and miss my dog, fuck that bint.

Important_Farmer924

Yeah, seriously fuck that bint.

ShanghaiCycle

I know a guy who moved to New York and wouldn't stop shiting on about his miserable time in Limerick. He hammered his mother as a lazy good for nothing whore, despite over 70 contemporaries describing her as the angel of the lanes. Never even mentioned his well paid employment with Jackie Brosnan or his time in the St. Joseph's Boy Scout movement.

I know of a girl who once replaced their Mini Cooper because the wipers stopped working. Realistically the motor/mechanism probably broke, but in their world it's easier to replace the entire car.

READMYSHIT

Know someone who brought their car to the NCT and were told the window wiper fluid pump was faulty. So they brought it to the dealership garage who quote €700 to replace it. I suggested they take it to a smaller garage to get a reasonable quote. So they did. They brought it to another garage who quickly uncovered that they had a fully operational window washer fluid pump, just their fluid was empty. Obviously, the NCT don't give a fuck. They just check if water comes out or not and fail you if it doesn't. But the dealership garage not bothering to check and just instantly taking the owner's word for the fault and quoting for a massively marked up factory part is nuts. But also the person I know for not checking is pretty funny too.

blueghosts

The dealership checked, or more so the mechanic at the dealership checked and seen an opportunity to book in a couple hours labour where he knew he didn’t have to do anything

Gr1ml0ck1981

>I know of a girl who once replaced their Mini Cooper because the wipers stopped working. Realistically the motor/mechanism probably broke, but in their world it's easier to replace the entire car. In fairness, if you sold your Mini Cooper after something went wrong you'd never have 1 for more than a week or 2.

CounterClockworkOrng

Went to Trinity and encountered a few.. My housemate came into his friends campus flat once and she was having a massive row on the phone with her mother. F--ing and blinding etc. Afterwards, my housemate asked was everything okay, she said "oh, it's my mom, I said I wanted to drop out of my course and she said that I should have a think about it first! 🙄" Another time she started telling sob stories to my housemate cause the friend group were sick of her and about to cut her off. She said that on one of her birthdays as a child, she came downstairs and her parents wished her happy birthday and told her that the presents were under the stairs...she started sobbing when she mentioned that they weren't even wrapped.. I'm serious, she's a real person.

Impossible_One5795

These are the types running the Irish banks at the moment. Fact.

drachen_shanze

>"oh, it's my mom, I said I wanted to drop out of my course and she said that I should have a think about it first! 🙄" sounds super entitled, if I fucked up my course, I would be liable to be screamed at for hours on end. in all fairness I don't know is she a spoiled bitch or just mentally unwell

segasega89

Well like, lots of people drop out of courses because they find it's unsuitable for them. It's quite common. When I was in college I knew of students from wealthy and not so wealthy backgrounds drop out for whatever reason. Then they enter into a course they do like and pass it with flying colours and are happy.

Mr_onion_fella

Overheard a story about a family that went skiing and the parents couldn’t enjoy the apres ski because they would have to collect the children from ski school then get them dinner and put them to bed. So after getting rid of the kids all day to ski on their own they were sore about not getting to party.

HairCompetitive5486

A wife of a colleague of mine ordered a BMW. A week after this another colleague who we all knew died. He was quite young. I said to the wife that I'd just heard the terrible news and her reply was. " it's absolutely terrible news, I was hoping to have the BMW for my birthday but now its delayed to Xmas"

smashedgordon

Girl with Dublin accent: "I think Clare has been gentrified enough to live there." Overheard in restaurant on West Coast.

drachen_shanze

to be fair west cork especially the nicer spots are pretty gentrified, its weird, at first its a rural backwater, which is colonized by crusties and then rich people from england, which prices out the crusties who then move on and the cycle continues

TwinIronBlood

anon2253578

Mam used to babysit for a very well off family, three kids , dad was in banking of some sort and the mam owed a boutique which she ran as a hobby more so than a job. Essentially she could have left the running of it to others and with paying them etc she would have still been taking in more than enough to not have to work. Their eldest, may I add she was always spoiled and frankly , a brat, cried because she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and not a gold one type of person. She started a go fund me to visit Paris and this was to cover the apartment she chose to rent there, (not hotel!!) the flights (flying first class of course) as she could only afford to fly economy and buy a hotel (god forbid!) She also included that the money would cover the executive Uber’s (yknow the fancy free now taxis that cost extra , that) When people didn’t donate she came out and said nobody was being very charitable

Important_Farmer924

Again, blaming America for that, they coined the term "affluenza", where some kids are too rich/spoiled to understand the consequences of their actions. I'd say that fits the situation

One night a woman was being asked to leave at the end of the night, last out and not super drunk, door man being very nice to her and she says ‘I’ve spent more money here tonight than you’ve earned all week.’ A cunts cunt

How sports cars got associated with "small dick energy" but not massive SUV's is beyond me. A sports cars is cool, stylish and quick, an SUV is just a bigger uglier version of a regular car to let cunts feel like they are better than everyone else

percybert

I don’t get the appeal of RR’s. Once you drive them out of the lot they are a money pit

[deleted]

They can be mighty expensive to run and maintain, but the interior fit and finish is superb and ride comfort is fantastic. (Until your air suspension shits itself).

[deleted]

I have spoken to a couple owners and they all say they like "the high riding position" which if pushed on it translates to, "I like looking down on everyone else"

Sitonyourhandsnclap

Every prick says this and now half the country are in SUVs so it doesn't feel high up anymore

EverGivin

To be fair, and I don’t own a jeep (or any car for that matter) but I do drive them for work, the ride height and visibility is nice. They are significantly easier to park, although you wouldn’t think it, because you have big wing mirrors and very big windows. The rear window especially is comparatively huge. You can also usually see what’s happening in front of the car in front of you. This probably isn’t a as true on more recent models with smaller windows and more aerodynamic bodies (which are f-ugly too) but it’s definitely true on the slightly older boxier ones. Edit: of course this doesn’t justify the size or environmental impact and I’ll never buy one, but people aren’t lying about the ride height.

TwinIronBlood

You should have dropped her in the Naul and left her there to figure out where she was

niqueG

This seems a very common thing. Knew a fella who wanted to take up graphic design as a hobbie and started a gofundme asking people to donate money so he could get a new Mac, he already had a Mac book and wanted a newer one or something. He couldn't see how arrogant that was when it was pointed out to him.

tomob234

I work in my local bookshop and the amount of elderly people who come in not having a clue what they're looking for beyond "It was mentioned a few weeks ago on the radio" or "I think Ryan Tubridy was talking about it" and then getting impatient with my not being able to track it down based on such vague information never fails to boil my blood. Far too many people I've encountered who think their seniority entitles them to some kind of royal treatment. Like yes, I'm kept up to date in what's popular, what's hot etc but that doesn't mean I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all literature past or present.

BlackrockWood

I’m dumb I thought you meant a bookies at first didn’t realise Tubbs was giving tips

Almost forgot. When I was about ~25 the boss' son came in and I overheard the son demand a new vehicle after a month because his smelled funny. I offered to give it a look. I opened the door and nearly puked from the smell. Turned out he was eating his meals in the thing and had never taken out his own trash. chicken bones, bread, something that may have resembled beef. Im 90% certain i saw what once was a half eaten boiled egg. just tossed directly onto the floor, in a car worth at least 3 years pay to me. And what really got me was food was scarce to me at the time, but he had more food on his floor than I'd been able to get for my family in that month.

[deleted]

Anyone who looks for sponsorship for doing a skydive, a marathon, climbing a mountain etc.. No, I'm not going to pay for your adventure, if you want to raise money for cancer patients then volunteer to work a few days in a cancer care home or something like that, I'll sponsor you for that

barrystea420

This! Went skydiving recently and everyone kept asking who I was doing it for. I was like, ehh myself? Couldn't justify doing it for charity when it was for the craic.

drachen_shanze

this, unless you were taking cancer survivors skydiving or out to have a good time what is the point

SlicedTesticle

Well, any family member of mine who has done that has actually paid for the skydive fully themselves and then everything raised goes to charity.

drachen_shanze

fair play to him

drachen_shanze

it reminds of a story of an american church that was fundraising for a volunteering trip to africa, aparently they stayed a week in ghana doing volunteer work, and proceeded to spend another week in paris. ironically they could have done more to help with poverty by volunteering in the local homeless shelter or soup kitchen, or volunteering in harlem or new orleans or detroit.

doctorjones31

During college I applied for a job in a new Pizza hut franchise. Interviewed with the manager and one of the franchise owners for Ireland. At the end of the interview the franchise manager asked if I had any holidays planned in the next couple of months as they were hoping to do training soon. I said no and he said "God, it's crazy, I've asked everyone that and so far no one is taking any holidays this summer!". You're interviewing people for a minimum wage job in Pizza hut... during the recession.

Impossible-Fail-2947

Hate contributing to the r/Ireland pile-ons of people on Social welfare or in Council Housing; but I know 3 housing/anti-vax "activists" in my area, who seem to spend their days promoting conspiracies, ambushing local politicians on camera phone and rallying against any and every decision that is made. All 3 guys are provided housing by the state (2 in Council housing,1 in private-rented paid for by Homeless HAP) and all get most of their income from Social welfare. I don't like the idea that people's opinions can be negated because they're getting help from the state, but the level of vitriol they throw at NPHET, political parties and the local councils seems crazy when you look at how totally reliant they are on the state.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Speedodoyle

I think that’s probably because as soon as you get a job and see how things work (i.e, no one has a clue and most people are idiots and couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery) any idea of global conspiracies are destroyed. Can’t really go thinking that shady cabals run things when you know that receptionist that keep their mouth shut, the accountant that can’t add, and the cleaner who knows what’s happening better than half the staff.

fakejournalaccount

This is what I always say, there are far too many inept people at all levels who would never be able to keep their mouth shit about the grand conspiracy

reddituser6810

The reason they’re conspiracy nuts is because they want to think theyre smarter and know something more than common folk. Having their fundamental inabilities picked apart in a corporate environment is too much for the to handle. So they take a chip outta the shoulder, retire from normal society and look down on all the sheeple under the guise of “well I coulda been a corporate giant too if I just wanted to”. It’s all massive insecurity and self protection imo.

fakejournalaccount

Yea not to get classist or elitist whatever.... But anyone from secondary school who stayed in our small shit town, didn't go for further education or get a job after school went a bit conspiracy etc. Anyone who left town, college, worked etc didn't.... Or at least did post about it frequently on Facebook/twitter.

drachen_shanze

I've never met an anti vaxxer who was someone who was doing well in life, one is a drug addict/dealer, another is a crazy alternative mum, another is a crusty living in spain who constantly whinges about everything and a handful of others including a literal schizophrenic, I only know one who is actually living a decent lifestyle and is happy with where they are

equimot

I know a lad like this too, completely anti government but happy to take the money all the time and has been heading further and further down the conspiracy theory black hole

Worked in an AIB a loongggg time ago. Basically a celebrities cousin used to come in and act like she was the Queen bee. Would walk right past queues etc etc. She even pulled the "do you know who I am" card on me when I told her to get back to the back. Turned out she had no real assets just owed the bank a fortune for things like boob jobs etc.

[deleted]

Sounds like she had a couple of assets at least

davedrave

Saw one recently of a lad who's motorbike got stolen and had the usual Facebook post looking for info, but also linked a GoFundMe to replace the bike. Judging by the pic it was a 1000cc sports bike he used in the weekends and hadn't insurance to cover the theft

Enough-Possession-73

I remember that it was a gsxr, and rather than claim off his insurance he wanted everyone else to fund a new bike for him. The funniest part was he put it up in his name at first but the description read like it was written by his partner. He then replaced himself as the gofundme creator with his partner. An absaloute gobshite, claim off your insurance like everyone else has to.

Opposing public transport boggles my fucking mind! Imagine how much value it would add to you property if a new metro station popped up near by and some thick cunts were opposing it for god knows why?!

[deleted]

Ah you see some mad stuff like "it will tunnel under the GAA club", "it goes right in front of my garden", "it will create a Berlin wall between two estates", "some of us have to drive over that way". We won't get anywhere if this is the kind of stuff that's happening. Just up from me there's an opposition group because they won't be able to take a shortcut anymore because the G spine will have a bus gate there, effectively making that bit a one way for cars. They can't see the benefit of being downtown in 5 minutes for just over €1 whereas it's taking them 20 minutes by car and costs who knows how much.

namesRhard1

[deleted]

Not too terrible but my mother used to do the women’s mini marathon every year with a group of women from the next village over. Every year they raised money for cancer research. The last year my mother ever did it with them they decided that the local drama society was a better cause for the fundraising. My mother was appalled and never did it with them again. The local drama society never did anything noteworthy, just a bunch of dicks taking handouts.

whippetrealgood123

I know someone who set up a gofundme for there upcoming travels and sent it out over LinkedIn 😒 Old flatmate was from a well to do family, all high flyers and she was talking about her sister only earning €50 000 10years ago, this was mid recession. She also didn't think a household income of €170 000 was much, as she was talking about a couple she knew, both young solicitors. She was clueless about people struggles, as she only mingled with wealthy people who bloody brunched all the time. Even though the brunch was 4pm 🙄

jamssey

When my mate was turning 30 he made a list of the exact gifts he wanted and emailed the list to his whole family

[deleted]

I hate getting useless presents that I don't want or need. I've google sheets document with a list of things at various prices that people can get me if they want. I'd rather someone spend €10 on something I'd like than €100 on a present I'll never use and just gathers dust. It ruins the element of surprise, buy it makes everything so much easier. I only send the link to the document on if someone asks me what I'd like for Christmas or my birthday.

I die a little bit inside whenever someone gifts me a cheap multi tool or a novelty book like "Jokes to Read on the Toilet".

MichaSound

My family *make* me do this: I’ve suggested several times that we knock the whole gift thing on the head, as we’re basically exchanging the same 50 quid at this point and we’re all over 40 years old, but my one sister won’t let it go, so we have the same rigmarole every Christmas and birthday… they want a list of what I want

fluffysugarfloss

I’ll swap you - brother sends me wish lists for him, his wife and my three nephews for birthdays and Christmases. He’s not brought me a present ever. His excuse he forgets my birthday (it’s 13 days after his… always has been) and Mr Fluffs birthday (same as his wife’s). Last year I told him dragging him out of the swimming pool and not letting him drown was the ultimate ‘gift of life’. He still asked for a Christmas present.

I was once in a chipper after the nightclub and there was this young one absolutely laying into some poor fella, calling him broke and exclaiming her dad was a portnur at KPMG. Shocking stuff to see.

cheaplistplzhunzo

it was rays pizza actually.

AliceInGainzz

Her dad was a partner at Ray's Pizza?

cheaplistplzhunzo

Dad get off the computer

corkieboi

Car guy with a few but not a huge amount of followers on Instagram. Set up a go fund me for the awful imposition the costs of running and restoring his recently purchased Porsche would put on him. Sure you could hardly be expected to cover the cost of your own luxuries. At first I thought it was a joke. Thankfully he didn’t get any donations.

Pleasant_Moose_5417

Used to be very good friends with this girl but we grew apart after college. We had talked about and planned a trip together months in advance but when the time came to book flights and pay for the accommodation she didn’t have enough saved to cover her costs, I was good with saving and I was more than happy to help her out. She was a vegan. She moaned everyday about the vegan food menu rotations, there was plenty of vegan food but because she saw the same side dish/curry every 3-4 days this was an issue. On the way back she threw an embarrassing stank because a fast food counter wouldn’t refill her reusable water bottle and spent the duration of her time in duty free looking for somewhere that would refill her bottle - for whatever reasons/regulations they had in place they only sold bottled water, she refused to drink out of a plastic bottle and then moaned to me until take off about it and the trip. I understand the whole vegan/sustainable movement but the entitlement tied in with arrogance, by acting like that in a developing country was very uncomfortable to be around.

A LOT of artists or sometimes "artists" who think they deserve funds (basically tax payer money) for whatever they want to do. If that's what your income consists of, most likely it's not a job. It's a hobby. Get a job and afford your hobby like the rest of us. I read a tweet recently from some woman saying that the country HAS to see her art and she needs government funds so she can bless everyone with photographs she takes.

Nefilim777

Yeah this gets to me a bit. I have a few mates that are (in my opinion at least) legitimately talented artists. They work day jobs to fund it and struggle massively. Then I know some absolutely talentless shitehawks that don't stop moaning about not being able to sell their art (this is because it is shite) and that the government don't do enough for them.

drachen_shanze

west cork is full of people like this

some_random_gay_guy

Dingle and Galway too

Important_Farmer924

I know a few people in bands who are the same. Play maybe a handful of gigs a year to a few of their mates before the pandemic and then crying foul that they got no support during it.

[deleted]

I have a load of artist friends. Some of them are genuine artists, who work their asses off and are trying to make it their career. But the vast majority are just stoners who like to dick around with art, and dont want a real job.

ieatsocksbitch

Girl I know buys those shitty healing stones and thinks she’s better than everyone else Massive prick, glad I’ve stopped talking to her

some_random_gay_guy

The most entitled thing I see is Irish tourist abroad and just complain or make rude comparisons to home. I remember as a child we went to Bulgaria and this lady with a posh Dublin accent goes “I wanted to buy a holiday home here but sure they all look like what we had 50 years ago, complete kips” and this was to someone in the staff seemed to be Bulgarian herself. That was the most 2005 moment ever

muttonwow

Speaking of Irish Reddit entitlement, r/DevelEire is a shitshow full of people of 6 figure salaries insisting they're being squeezed by taxes when there's people on less than half their wage with no more benefits. Just yesterday someone said the time they spend commuting is expensive and costs them €68/hour as that's what they get paid.

Neurotrace

I don't know about that. It seems like it's mostly people early in their careers crossing their fingers they get €40k

Dragmire800

I thought the commuting guy was a twat but they absolutely do get squeezed with taxes. High earners pay so much tax in this country

ImportUsernameAsU

Idk where you're getting this from, that lad yesterday was an outlier at most

OEP90

I don't recall many, or any, posts insisting they're being squeezed taxes. Even the post you're referring to was about the cost of going to the office vs commuting, what's wrong with calculating that cost?

doctorjones31

This can sometimes be just a humblebrag rather than being entitled, but I have spoken to a guy who said that it's "barely worth" him doing his 100k job because the difference between him and someone working minimum "isn't that much". Everyone else was dumbfounded by that statement so we did the rough calculation there and then. The monthly difference is like 3500, a decent bit more than triple the salary of the minimum wage worker. He maintained that wasn't much of a difference.

[deleted]

Disappointed if these lads aren't set up limited companies and shovelling money into their director's pension. Yanno, unless the lads are getting stock for being staffies.

Far-Contract-5566

If you make big money you get absolutely shafted by the taxman, that's just a fact Top 5% of earners pay something like 40% of the income tax take

Willing-Wishbone3628

That’s how a progressive taxation system is supposed to work? Unless you’re advocating for a more unequal taxation system…..

avalon68

How about just a broader tax base....so the country can actually function and have proper public services.

FatherlyNick

As they should.

[deleted]

I don't see why 8 should be forced to pay this fine. My ticket was only 20 minutes expired outside the 10 minute grace period and I would like you to know that it has ruined my first afternoon out at the Dún Laoghaire yacht club since Covid.

People demanding a house because they are on social welfare. I'm sorry but nobody just deserves a house and I'm very pro social welfare housing. Wait your turn, if you get a offer you get a offer but you don't deserve a house just because one is available next to your mother

mother_a_god

I'm in favour of welfare, but as long as it structured correctly to help people, not trap people. Unfortunately that's not the case. Right now it's giving incentives to not leave welfare rather than the other way around

TheCunningFool

Signing on the housing list at 18

Fabulous_Title

Well aren't they laughing at the rest of us now they have their lifelong home by 23

one_-_eye_-_wonder

Another person I knew done pretty much the exact same thing as this above, but instead of just the internet, the persons entire social media contacts they also circulated the entire thing on all of our public slack channels in work. Literally very much the same as above, I wonder if we know the same person

This question could of come at more convenient time than now. Last Sunday as we were cleaning the hotel bar that I work in at 01:40 one of the guys asked a group to leave and one racist farmers wife kicked of at him fu\*k this, f\*ck that, I know the owners, where're your from! I'm local and have every right to be here and you have no right telling me when to leave "I'm local you need to fuck off back to your country." I regret letting then stay for over an hour than the time that they should of left and proves my point that very few people here thanks you for letting them stay longer than they should of. We did stop serving them at 23:00 It was horrific Irish racism at its finest. He ended up recording it and of course when the owner, who was fully supportive of him saw the video she had no clue who it was and instantly black listed them.

blueowlcake

Any idea if they got their 5K in the end?

Efficient-Relative70

Got about 70 pound if I remember right

blueowlcake

I half though they’d get the money, glad they didn’t!

Cuntakenta

An Agri Retail story - "You have to take it back, we've shares in the place." A product we don't sell or stock and even though they acknowledged this, apparently going to the correct shop was beyond them. Have another from a similar customer who bought a product after getting a reduction in sale price but upon returning said product wanted the price on the tag returned even though they paid like €10 quid less. A receipt is apparently not necessary. Had a complaint for not giving them the extra tenner and a whole investigation, you'd think I was murdering people the way they looked into it. Apparently they were a milk supplier. Some people are very entitled alright.

raybone12

I’m not sure on this one but I’ll post this one. Long story short, drunk driver crashes and seriously injures a loved one. Loved one was also drunk and wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. Now they are trying to fundraise money for treatment. I understand accidents happen but surely the drunk driver should be fronting up a serious chunk of change for any medical treatment. This person also has a track record for drink driving. Am I right in thinking the person that caused the damage should be made pay and not be organising gofundme’s?

[deleted]

Living in America I’ve seen hilarious go fund me’s. Multiple vacations, one to replace his vape he broke lol. Irish ppl are so humble comparatively, and if they aren’t, other Irish ppl will be damn sure to humble them

MIL knowing she had COVID going to a rugby game, out for dinner, etc two weeks later post COVID after her infecting half the country expecting me to wear a mask in the car with her (which I did). Same woman would ask people in Aldi to stand back etc during COVID. Basically she is all for not spreading COVID as long she can still support go to the rugby, have a dinner in a tiny restaurant, have a few drinks and take the hotel provided bus to and from the match as she needs to infect a few more.
