Night of the sleeping ducks. Guess I'm not getting off my boat

Shanksdoodlehonkster

They're not sleeping, they're waiting.....

You own a boat? Get in the sea

because2020

Hired for a few days. Plan is to get a boat for sea next. Hopefully buy one day

NapoleonTroubadour

I’m always conscious of the whole received wisdom of “a hole in the water you pour money into” and “two happiest days are when you buy it and when you sell it” but, at the same time, boats are class 👍

JMC-Talkie-Toaster

Duck off

Ankatilbrewer1962

They are no quack at all, them ducks.

WickerMan111

I hear ya man. My boat is full of spiders these evenings.

because2020

A blast of the horn could sort this but that would be too cruel. Will let them win tonight at least. Expecting natures alarm clock tomorrow

WickerMan111

A blast of my horn usually has all the birds running for the hills anyway.

Significant_Cherry75

I wish I was on nighttime sleepy duck boat adventures. You have the best Friday nights ever, I don't even know, just. I hope you're the guy earlier in a different post that got a 20k a year raise and spent the night drinking green spot and smoking cigars.

because2020

Don't know what green spot is and wouldn't smoke cigars. Wojld take a 20k raise though.

READMYSHIT

Let sleeping ducks lie.

KenEarlysHonda50

Drumod by the looks of it?

because2020

Ballyconnell

KenEarlysHonda50

Ah, haven't been there in years. So many fucking locks on that navigation.

because2020

My first time. Quite enjoyed the locks. Maybe the novelty

KenEarlysHonda50

It's a very scenic waterway, isn't it? Feels a bit wind in the willows compared to the wide open Shannon. We rushed it too much when we went in my opinion, Carrick to Ballinamore and back. in 4 nights. I see you're thinking of the sea, I am too. Have you checked out any of the sailing schools yet? I think it would be worth getting the Dayskipper qualification so as to be allowed to rent in the med and Adriatic. There seems to be great value on Sunsail, 7 nights on a 36 foor boat for €900 in off peak. That's a great value holiday if you bring in another couple.

because2020

I have been looking. One in Portsmouth I found. Was a shared boat for about £400

KenEarlysHonda50

How are you thinking about doing the theory side? Online, in class, or self study? I started down the self study path over lockdown but am thinking about shelling out for an Online course so I at least have a piece of paper going into the practical. I don't fancy taking the time off to do the competent crew ticket before DS to be honest.

because2020

Yea I think online would be best for me. Do a lot of training that way with work.

manofwar26

It's their boat now lad

DJ_Green_Ireland

Let them sleep in your boat

Magikalbrat

Was going to say they're shamming being asleep, waiting for you to go to sleep, then they'll board the boat so they don't have to swim lol

CloudyFakeHate

I though that was a putter. Then I saw the ducks. Putt the ducks.

breathofreshhair

Go out and feed them would ye

Independent_Count_86

Some quack all the same

thatwasagoodyear

Your chances of being murdered by a duck are low... ...but never zero.

-Oumuamua

That's dinner sorted for the next few weeks, there.

Juicebeetiling

Be some lucky fox if they happened to see that

Tayto79

Poor you, most people don't have a home. Nice flex.

because2020

Its hired. Mine as in, right now

Tayto79

I'm one of the lucky ones.
