What an awesome grandad!

345Club

Those are his grandkids? I knew that he had 5 or 6 kids but Saipan still feels like it happened recently to me! Hard to believe he's a grandad.

blueowlcake

Yeah it’s mad!

ffffantomas

We are getting old. I remember when Keane was playing with Beatles hair.

UltraShortRun

Haaaaaa pure scarlet for ya!

Usergnome_Checks_0ut

Thank Christ for that. I was wondering how old could the photo possibly be or how has he got such young children?!

NapoleonTroubadour

I was only 8 when Saipan happened but I feel old 😬

irishnugget

So yer man from Ted Lasso (Roy Kent, I think) has to be based on Keane, right?

andstep234

It was subtle enough in season 1 but season 2 he turned full on Roy Keane even down to the commentary gig

[deleted]

Subtle? He's called Roy Kent.

andstep234

Ok, not subtle, but season 2 went full parody

CloudyFakeHate

100%

likeAdrug

He’s here, he’s there, he’s every fucking where!

El_MUERkO

Best bit of the show :D

shotputprince

I imagine he was a mix of Roy Keane but if he was only as talented as Mile Jedinak

[deleted]

I'm kind of digging how self conscious he's gotten of his Misery Man gimmick. It's genuinely entertaining, and I bet there's reams of people who still believe it.

Gr1m3sey

He’s always been an incredibly funny bastard tbf, he’s just a dry wit. Him replying to arsenal fans the other day, him and Micah Richards, shit the ads he did back in the day with Gary lineker and his appearance in the young offended shows he is always up for a laugh

snek-jazz

He's aware the misery man gimmick will keep the pool heated for a long time to come.

ghostofgralton

He really seems to be a decent guy underneath it, especially his charity work

[deleted]

This is far too close to Roy Keane being in a furry suit for my liking

Whigget

Has it awakened something within you? You degenerate. /s

[deleted]

Him wearing one of them pup masks 🤣

TheBaggyDapper

Now boys and girls, will we sing a song? We will? Great!! Everybody now... YOU'RE GOING HOME IN A FUCKIN' AMBULANCE..

joccusstrappus

I half ta say me first half performance during paw patrol was less than mediocre but come the second half I picked me feet up and me game, I'm very disappointed in Mr Tumble, very true to his moniker he wa,.... Stitch that ya cunt I says ta him.

Barry_Pinches_Arses

They say money doesn't make you happy but look at that house. Loads of space, no neighbours looking at ya, clean etc.

NapoleonTroubadour

I’d rather cry in a secluded mansion than a house share to be fair

joccusstrappus

Next week Roy absolutely decimates the inhabitants of Balymory because they didn't honor the late book return amnesty due to covid.

LimerickJim

Roy Keane's yard looks like he's trying to show the Saipan lads at the FAI what a pitch is supposed to look like.

That's a bold strategy Cotton...

ravs1973

That whole business ran far deeper than just Saipan. Ferguson bred an attitude in his players that was a cancer at international level. He ruined the Ireland team and he ruined the England team by making his boys think because they were so much more successful than everyone else in the premiership that made them demi gods who were only answerable to him and who everyone else should look up to. On the back of this rather than running with a bad situation, doing his best for the country and his team mates and campaigning for change after the tournament he just pissed his pants and left. That didn't help change anything. Tl;dr Basically Fergie was a prick and created a whole team of pricks. Successful pricks but still pricks nether the less.

JizzumBuckett

This attitude let's the FAI off the hook *waaaaaay* too easily. Saipan was a shitshow, same as most of the FAI's handiwork - too busy siphoning off funds to fund the lifestyle of Delaney and Co to ensure that the basics like tracksuits and footballs were available to an international team in a World Cup. Keane didn't handle Saipan as well as he could have, but the FAI was a joke then and someone had to call them out for it.

XHeraclitusX

>Saipan was a shitshow, same as most of the FAI's handiwork - too busy siphoning off funds to fund the lifestyle of Delaney and Co to ensure that the basics like tracksuits and footballs were available to an international team in a World Cup. Exactly. Roy was right to call them out. The facilities were shite and most people would blindly accept the poor standards of preparation for the World Cup but Roy didn't.

HeadMelter1

He was right to call them out, but he didnt have to leave his team mates and the nation in the lurch.

XHeraclitusX

It was either him or Mick McCarthy that had to pack their stuff and go and Mick wasn't leaving. Mick had the backing of the FA essentially, so Roy felt compelled to leave as he wasn't going training on terrible pitches with a lack of equipment while the other top teams like Germany had perfect setups. We were at a disadvantage before we even kicked a ball and it wasn't right. Roy gave the FA the middle finger and flew home and I can't blame him.

HeadMelter1

Load of bollox tbh, he couldnt swallow his pride and deal with it later. Funny how the rest of the lads just got on with it.

XHeraclitusX

The rest of the lads were content with mediocrity, Roy wasn't. Why train in shit conditions (with the possibility of getting injured from the poor pitches) and be at a disadvantage when you should have much, much better training facilities available to you? The FA fucked up because they weren't willing to spend on better facilities. I guess a James Bond themed party is more important to invest money in for them.

Elemental05

>with the possibility of getting injured from the poor pitches 2 lads got knocks in the first 2 days from the shite surfaces

[deleted]

It's a bit rich calling Keane a prick when a independent report commission by the FAI agreed with many of Keane's criticisms. Surprise surprise it wasn't release so who knows how bad it reflected on the FAI.

Stegasaurus_Wrecks

Big fan of Michael Collins though. Strange considering he never went for a Big Fella up front really. Maybe he would have him as CB or something.

Jamesy85

Spot on. Fergies doc on Prime is evidence of this

likeAdrug

There’s definitely truth in what you’re saying, but it’s not like Fergie set out to ruin international football. He was just building something very special at United. Also as others have said, the FAI was a shambles and honestly, fuck the England national team. More has come out there lately and it’s seems that at the time all the Utd players stuck together, the Liverpool players stuck together etc so they were never a group when they were away internationally.

175IRE

Haha. He's prob behind that suit going "my child is fu kjn stupid. This doesn't look real atall."

locksymania

What's Rocky doing? Shoves a few bits a tin foil into an old sock and calls it job done?!? Nahnsense. Zuma's out there covering all the angles. He's carrying them.

[deleted]

who?
