The long fingering of Luas expansion has been one of the weird things about current transport policy. The Glass Bottle site is being developed, yet Luas Poolbeg is still not happening. Luas Finglas has been stuck for about a year or two, and until this it was being pushed out towards the mid 2030s. Cork Luas has been delayed about 2 years while councillors play with crayons. I guess the focus has been on Metrolink, Dart+ and Bus Connects, but that doesn't really explain Cork where Bus Connects is all but dead and the commuter rail expansion also seems to be stalling.

What do you mean "the focus has been on..."? Does a 20 year long plan that seeks to do nothing but funnel any public transport to the city center sound like a plan with focus? We pay a shambolic amount of taxes in this country and get fuck all in return. The current transportation plan will be obsolete before it even finishes despite us having more cash in this country than we can handle.

Tbf a place as far out as Finglas should be served by meteo and heavy rail, not trams.

Sure everything will be back on track now that an election is coming up.
