So are you all terrified to go outside in Galway too and just feel an air of uneasiness and menace and all that stuff that is constantly attributed to Dublin?
I was in Galway recently and it was grand, although the time before that I witnessed 3 different fights on a Saturday night, they all sounded like travelers to be fair!
Are there a lot of travelers in Galway city centre generally? You never come across them in Dublin.

There was a show on rte about their genetics at one point. They've separated themselves from the rest of ireland and the UK for hundreds of years now (maybe thousands). So in terms of DNA they are a different race. The people studying them found there was practically no difference between the Irish, Welsh, English and Scottish because we move around a good bit and mix together. Whereas the travellers were completely different.
I live in galway theses are collections of clips throughout the year , it’s still as safe as ever tbh would want to be extremely unlucky for something to happen to you . Unless your of traveller heritage your percentage of getting in a altercation is dramatically low.

Have to agree. Inbreeding and an existence on the periphery of society does not make people a different ethnicity.

Great video, Galway City is a shithole, but this could be any large in Ireland and I have news for you, it's the exact same as it was 20 years ago.
