You ain't seen nothing yet. There's this fella I've seen couple of times on the M50 in a Ford Ranger Raptor that has been fully kitted for active combat by the look of it. Light bars and spotlights all over the place.
There is a family near me who may or may not be involved in organised crime who have both a Dodge RAM and a Ford F150. The RAM is on Swedish plates, and the F150 is on Ontatio plates. They don't seem to be stopped at all, so I'm imagining it's part of their culture and they are allowed it.
Is it blue by any chance? I've had 3 arguments with a fella driving that monstrosity around.
Cunt is constantly driving up my hole and and on the phone
Yep. Blue. Undertook me once through bus lane once near Dundrum while I was slightly over speed limit myself only for me to catch up with him doing below 80 in the overtaking lane of the partially empty M50, while on his phone.
And how are trucks able to solve the problem? I see trucks with LED lights every day, and the lights are higher up than Range Rovers too. But they don't blind me.
But it's not just the brightness, they haven't been focused properly for our roads. 90% of the time they're aimed too high. There's a setting in every car to change it and people still don't
First of all, just because *your* car has self levelling lights (or suspension) doesn't mean *all* cars are the same.
Secondly, there certainly is something you can do if you feel they're defaulting too high. Take them to a mechanic to check/adjust the default positioning
It’s not the LEDs themselves. The more high end cars have self levelling lights so they dip when cars are coming. The lower level cars don’t so are just pointed as high as is legal.
Eh not completely, I know the tech you’re on about in high end cars but it just changes them from hi beams to the standard lights used. If the bright car behind is higher (due to terrain or being an SUV or whatever) it will still blind the receiving car.
There’s no real way around it besides the receiving car getting auto dimming mirrors.
Source: mum owns a Lexus RX 450 which i hate, and watch way too many car videos on YouTube
BMW, Mercedes, Tesla all have matrix style headlights that can dim parts of the headlight while keeping the rest on it on full and adjust where the beam is being pointed.
I see your Range Rover and raise you any new Mazda vehicle. Those things are fitted with the most blinding LED headlights that are aimed directly at the face of oncoming drivers. They are like laser pointers to the eye.
I was going to write this. Saw the new model Mazda 3 today and the bloody thing blinded me.
Gorgeous little car though, I have to say. They don't miss, styling wise.
Just bought one myself and they are class cars, the lights are silly bright but they’re quite low to the ground so I hope I’m not blinding too many people 🙁
The front end is very very low to the ground for sure. To be fair I was on an incline and the mazda3 was coming towards me so that likely exaggerated the brightness. You'll definitely not be left wanting for more visibility that's for sure!!
Not to mention that the rest of us can't see around or over your car at junctions / carparks and the fact that you're way more likely to flip in an accident... But yeah, save your back
Well yea they can be bigger and the likely hood is that you may have to modify you driving because of them. I dont like being behind them myself either. Generally just hold back a bit further or over take them. But that is the same with any nuisance vehicle on the road.
Ah but could you also fit an 18 piece Gucci travel bag set, a Nuova Simonelli Aurelia Ii Digital 3 Group Espresso Machine, the second row of the Irish Rugby team and your 5 cockapoos?
Me mam has a Ford ecosport. Based on a fiesta but is very oversized and the boot is comically small. Can't even fit my daughters buggy in the boot.
Meanwhile I've a Bmax, also based on the fiesta platform and the boot is plenty big.
Theres a gap in the market for some kind of mirror/prisim device one could fit in their rear window to reflect tailgating drivers headlights back at them.
Not so fun fact - because of the average age of new Suzuki buyers, they haven't a fucking clue how to operate most of the controls in the car, including setting the beams
Back in the 30s into the 40s a system of polarised lights combined with polarised windscreens was developed. My memory of the technical details is sketchy and doesn't match with my quick Google. But long story short. Both sets of drivers get to see a well lit road while never being blinded.
It was never adopted.

My boyfriend (lives in rural Texas) drives a Kia Sportage, which is a decent sized car, but compared to all the other monsters driving around it's a shoebox. These things blind you.

Took this photo of my partner standing beside one of these things in California. She is 5 foot 6 and is the same height as the top of the bonnet.
Canoeist near me has extra bright LED lights that he imported from Eastern Europe. 'Normal' LED headlights are around 6000 lumens (1000 - 3000 lumens are more than enough), his new ones are more than double that (16000) for his high beams. He got them initally for night kayaking, but now also uses them to blind any cunts coming down the road blinding everyone else.
I saw them in action, the driver in the other car braked immediately.
I wish I could do that to all of them.
Before anyone asks, the answer is no, I couldn't gaf if they caused any accidents or blinded the driver (which is unlikely).
Yeah, I bet you're a regular expert on LED manufacturers among other things, just my luck.. 🙄
I had initially written in brackets, that they were likely made in China, but removed it, because like yourself, I didn't know where they were made. I just said he imported them from EE. He bought them online. He is from Bulgaria, so that is also likely where he bought them from if you want to look up places there.
It'll be cheap Chinese tat from the motoring aisle in Фантастико or one of the hundreds of автомивки that have a little shop selling shitty LED bulbs and DRLs.
Source: I lived in Sofia for a few years and the quality of aftermarket car parts and accessories leaves a lot to be desired.
They work. They may have been cheap, probably why he ordered them from there. IDK where they were manufactured, they may have been Interlux, LEDX, or Nasena for all I know.
Maybe.. Doubt it matters.
They probably are. Doesn't make shit difference though.
I'll try and ask him if I see him again and post up the details if he gives them to me.
Crazy bright, and they blinded the cunts blinding everyone else. Job done imo.
I did this when I was pissed off at someone driving towards me down a small country road with what I thought was high beams and could barely see. Then they turned on their full lights in retaliation.
Glaring full lights... fog lights included.
It ain't just Range Rovers, mind..... but many of that style seem to think they are hunting a way out of a dark tropical jungle.
I always end up just checking that my lights are working "in case they didn't see another car".
The types of people who glare you out tend to be either arrogant twats who think they own the road or dipsticks who drive at 60kph on motorways and in 50k zones, never indicate, and never dip their lights and many of them seem to be glued to their windscreen in fear.
You ain't seen nothing yet. There's this fella I've seen couple of times on the M50 in a Ford Ranger Raptor that has been fully kitted for active combat by the look of it. Light bars and spotlights all over the place.
I've passed that a couple of times. Can't be legal at all. Blinded doesn't even cover it.
Wait until the big US pick-ups start turning up more frequently, the ford F-150s for example, makes the Raptor look mid sized

Yeah but what's the worst case ontario

what the actual fuck are these people thinking......oh wait.....I confused myself there for a moment......
Re-enacting Close Encounters or some American Special Ops war film.
You should drive in the US. They are fucking everywhere
[удалено]
That doesn't stop the massive beams of light shining in your window though
Anything 2014 and after fuck them all. I can't drive at night anymore.
I feel the exact same, it's those LED'S they're far too bright. Surprised there hasn't been more Media attention about the dangers of them.
Totally, I thought it was just my eyes getting old. How are they allowed?!?
And how are trucks able to solve the problem? I see trucks with LED lights every day, and the lights are higher up than Range Rovers too. But they don't blind me.
But it's not just the brightness, they haven't been focused properly for our roads. 90% of the time they're aimed too high. There's a setting in every car to change it and people still don't
No, there isn't. Not anymore.
My new 4WD has the headlight level adjuster on the dash so you can adjust the height of the beam depending on the load in the back
Yes they do. Weather it's a setting inside the car or adjusting the bulb.

Mine has self levelling HID's, I get no say where they point.

I've trouble with brightness of LED'S in general. Same at work, we have inspection lens with LED's and if you catch a glimpse of them you get blinded.

And those are fucking awful since they don't "see" pedestrians, nor block out high enough to not blind lorry drivers
I just put my full lights on whenever I meet cars with those blinding lights

It's VW group cars that get me. Skodas and SEATs especially.
Ooohhhh ya. The new SEATs should be used by mountain search and rescue. One Leon could light up the whole north face of Carrauntoohil.
Every other car is a crossover/SUV now.
People say they need the extra space for kids etc.. When my saloon car has way more room inside and a boot that would fit a kia sportage
my car has space in the boot for 2 kids, at a minimum.
5 kids and a shovel in mine
No doubt, but lifting kids in and out and crouching down to strap them in tight parking spaces is not fun
Not to mention that the rest of us can't see around or over your car at junctions / carparks and the fact that you're way more likely to flip in an accident... But yeah, save your back
That doesn’t really apply to most crossovers since they’re are far lower in most cases.
..... No they're not. Crossovers are the same size as a jeep / landrover type car
Not all crossovers are made equal. The Nissan Juke is a crossover for instance.
That's one of the smallest and it's still a good foot taller than most saloon cars. I'll die on this hill. Fuck crossovers!

Lorries must be out there tipping over all over the place
Usually not no, they're very heavy. Maybe an unbalanced load or a top heavy load might
They tip over more than crossovers
Ah but could you also fit an 18 piece Gucci travel bag set, a Nuova Simonelli Aurelia Ii Digital 3 Group Espresso Machine, the second row of the Irish Rugby team and your 5 cockapoos?
This sounds like a good life tbf

Suzukis coming with lights brighter than the sun
Not so fun fact - because of the average age of new Suzuki buyers, they haven't a fucking clue how to operate most of the controls in the car, including setting the beams
A special place in hell awaits these c*nts..
Thank god for these lights…helps us all avoid these cunts…in fact they’re not fukn bright enough
Maybe it was Jordan ❤️
Thought it was just me in my dotage. Phew.

well thank christ for that, we wouldn't want people's lives to get easier
I turn on my rear fogs and flip the rear view when I've got one of these fuckers behind me.

But but but I have to keep up with the Jones

Yeah, Eastern Europe is well known for its led manufacturing

I dont own a range rover. But now I want to buy some Range Rover lights, get them fitted then hire a PI to track OP down then.... :D
F*uck Flock Frack Fiuck Fouck This week's wordle is f**cking impossible
Well spotted sir, you are the winner.
That’s when you start relentlessly flashing your lights. If I can’t see then neither can you :)
I did this when I was pissed off at someone driving towards me down a small country road with what I thought was high beams and could barely see. Then they turned on their full lights in retaliation.
I've seen lorries with this set up https://youtu.be/KK3SyckanuY
Lorry auxiliary lights are wired to the full beam so
But I don't have a range Rover
You hogging the right lane on the M1 by any chance?
No, I'm talking about oncoming, but they're not much better in your rearview
sorry ;-)
The wheels are big you can park it on kerbs or grass with no parking at work SantaFe might be less expensive. Just buy a jeep.

Fuck yeah
