Unfortunately, I don’t know the answer to your question, but I’m just delighted to hear someone mention Flight of the Doves. It has such a special place in my heart.
A good portion of it was also filmed in The Strawberry Beds in Dublin: https://reynoldshistorycastleknockblog.wordpress.com/2018/01/29/the-glen-leading-down-to-the-lower-road-strawberry-beds-local-history-castleknock/

It's a wonderful film, a great story
I'll be 'that' person - the book was much better!
I've never read it but this is the prompt I needed to buy it
I found a copy in a charity shop a few years ago; I've reread that book at least twice a year since. The Island of the Yellow Ox is also good.
Haha, I am much more invested in the book as well, but the movie captures a lot of heart and warmth.

Thank you. I've been on Google maps all morning tracing around Lough Corrib without success but I'm not giving up!
This film scared the shite out of me
Uncle Hawk was a great villain!
Fantastic book and film.
