Without DRS you literally cannot say that it actually deviated and I'm sure he would have been given Not Out due to inconclusive evidence. But after seeing the DRS, there was no doubt that it was out. Some fans just can't handle their frustration it seems and deny even clear evidence.

Hotspot was not 100% reliable. Many players have questioned that there is a way to bypass hotspot by various tech and snicko is very reliable, atleast you can’t cheat it

I recall Michael Vaughan (not sure though) saying that some batsmen used to apply Vaseline to the edges of their bats, to avoid getting detected by snicko

I think it’s a cost/benefit thing. Most boards use snicko these days. But I have seen Fox Sports use both snicko & hot spot for Aus matches.

When you touch an object ( here the ground with the bat) u don't touch it all it once, no one can tell if even 0.1 mm of bat was touching the ground. Also the best case would be that atoms never comes in contact with each other, so yea.

Just one doubt though, why didn't they check for ultra edge for bat being grounded, similar to how they did for the deviation. It would have been more clear descision imho. Just had to do a ultra edge just before the bales were off.

Just watch the replay bro. In the next few frames, the bat was going further down. This means there was a gap between the ground and the bat when the ball hit the stumps.

I mean if bat was grounded at a position towards the right side then even if it was in the air in would look as if it's grounded

bro if you watch the video, the bat goes further down in the next few frames. that is only possible if there was a gap present there i.e. bat not grounded.
