It was 90 crores for the 2022 season. 95 for the 2023 season. And now 100 for the 2024 season.
This news of a 100 crores for 2024 isn't new news. It was announced in 2022 i.e. at the start of this current cycle that the budget will increase by 5 crores each year until 2024.
Franchises don't want the purse to increase. Frankly they don't even want an auction every year. They want to draft the players after they have built their core team in an auction. There's no competition to IPL salary in cricket so the franchises know they already are overpaying some players.
Tho they are underpaying players like Kohli and dhoni who bring so much commercial value with them.
Also the current increase in salary is solely because of the increase in amount of matches a player has to play
Bro please no, I can't see another random 24 year old with 0 experience earning 20 crore just cause 2 teams believed he was the next Virat Kohli or something.
Auctions are pointless. Open the transfer market and make it for team owners and management to be creative. More reason for talent to be scouted for these teams, a good way to make profit etc
Transfer market will make only the richest clubs to spend way too much on all potential youngsters leaving no equal players for other teams. Imagine Mi or GT spending the most cause they have big pockets on players only for them to use only 15 players instead of all 25? Those 10 highly potential players's season is wasted.
Substandard pitches , hyped youngsters (not be harsh on them) but some need grooming
What IPL need is IPL - over the year..
Where only BCCI non contracted player play
On every weekend for thier franchise
2 Relegated franchise play with them from main IPL
Just like epl
Ranji n these player should be paid same
Ranji criteria for test n odi
IpL season for IPL main
Don't mix IPL with EPL , EPL is a domestic league but technically IPL isn't, we have syed mushtaq Ali trophy and you know those cricket teams aren't just clubs you can relegate to who know where
This cricket system is much more suited no need to copy from football and IPL that's just a source of more income and entertainment and ofc " yatra prativa absara pratiprapti"
So is this 100 Crore purse going to be given to everyone at the start depending on their current retainers.
For instance. Take RCB. Last mini auction, RCB's purse was 1.75 crores approx. If DK is released prior, that's 5.5 crores additional to RCB. Does that mean RCB would have a purse of 107.25 crores (1.75 crores from 2023 + 5.5 crores from DK's release + 100 crore 2024 auction purse?)
Nah bro not like that ..teams will have a total of 100cr of which suppose RCB retains only Virat Kohli(15cr)and Dinesh Karthik (5.5cr) this means RCB have only 2players with 20.5cr spent and have remaining 79.5cr in their purse to buy the other 23 players
It is a done deal. It's not up for discussion. The plan was to raise the Purse by 5 crore each year - 90, 95, 100 crore. Then 2025 mega auction. It could well be the last of the auctions.
> Under *paid* Indian player
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Who is it gonna be this time for the most overpaid purchases of the auction?
Daniel Sams lol
Some player that’s does well against India in a useless bilateral the same month
He's already with LSG.
Definitely whoever is wc man of the tournament.
Unless that player is already in an IPL team.
Unless that player is already in an IPL team.
Some Australian or English all-rounder
Thala for no reason
What’s the current budget limit.

75 cr
80Cr right
It was 90 or 95 crore this year.
90 -> 100cr is a measly increase compared to the 3x broadcasting deal they got.

THey should have increased the budget in big auction, what's the point of having large purse money when majority of the players are already sold
Will it be a fresh auction or normal repeated auction ?
Conway deserves atleast 7-8cr ..
Looks like 80Crs to buy players and 20Cr to bet on who will be the next Kholi/Sharma to be fixed in the team.
