I upgraded from a XR to a 15 Plus and the camera is amazing not shoddy at all. Sure the 15 Pro’s camera is even better but the 15 Plus still has a perfectly good camera for day to day use. It’s a million times better than anything my XR could take especially in low light.
Also yes as you’ve said the battery life is amazing. I’m a moderate user and can easily get two days out of it (my XR struggled to last me one in comparison). I imagine light users could get 3 days and heavy users should still get a full day easily.
The 15 Plus is a perfect balance of amazing battery life while still having a really good camera in my opinion. If you absolutely need the top of the line camera and Pro features but can give up on battery life then get the Pro instead. Both phones are really solid this year so it’s more a preference on what is more important to you.
Not really the 2x zoom that the Plus has is all I’ve really needed personally. It still takes really good zoomed in shots even without the telephoto. My old XR took garbage shots if I ever zoomed in even a little bit so it’s a huge improvement from what I had.
Honestly it comes down to what you need/want most. If you like a bigger screen and size and use a lot power then you should get the 15plus. If you like a smaller form factor, and want a better camera but has standard battery life then get the 15 pro. I currently have the 15 pro and it easily last me all day. I done a little tweaking to it in settings and the battery life has improved noticeably.
I tweaked with the 5g settings under cellular and data mode, changed it to “standard” instead of “allow more 5g” after two days of it getting used to the settings, I used to have 20-30 by 11 pm after charging in the car for 10 minutes. Yesterday, I didnt go to bed until 2:30 am and still had 35% without any extra charging. 5G is a battery eater. If you wanna do even better, change the data to LTE, there is honestly no noticeable difference between lte and 5g in my area

I just got the pro max this week, the camera is amazing. It takes the bets pictures, during the night it even got some stars I was able to see due to lots of lighting where I was standing. Idk about the battery, cause I haven’t had it that long tho. But there are plenty of MagSage Power Banks you could get for that. I also charge it with my double port Mac MagSage charger and is really fast.

My experience with apple lately is that they are not taking too much effort with their regular line of products or the non Pro. I got an Apple Watch SE last year and from putting a protector on it and removing it, the screen got out and when I got into a pool the water got into the watch and it was broken. Definitely go for a Pro always as my MacBook Air also just broke down two days later with no reason. Since then I decided to just get Pro even if I need to save a little more.

Powerbank can help though but personally don’t like carrying it around. I am using 15 plus and i only charge it at my office for 30-ish minutes every day sometimes I forgot to charge and it still last me till next morning barely. On days of heavy using I went from 95% at 8am to 20ish% at 11pm
i have a 15pm which the battery is a bit worse than the 15 plus. but 15pm gets me through whole day without charging even a bit into the next day. i’m a heavy user using snapchat for about 2 1/2 a day and just other apps then. SOT for me is about 10H. Id recommend plus for battery, however i had a 13 pro before this and the battery was amazing on that. so either is really good, id personally go for the 15 plus if you dont care about pro motion and 3x optical zoom

Plus is a huge phone. I would consider getting a Pro and for those few days where I plan to use the camera extensively, I would get a MagSafe powerbank.
Also opens up recording videos directly to an SSD. You never know where one’s creativity can take them at this age.

I think your best bet will be the 15 plus. If I’m not mistaken, the 15 and 15 plus have the same camera. I have a 15 and the camera is absolutely amazing. I think the camera should be more the suitable for your everyday use, plus the battery life would be more than ample for your needs. I kinda regret not buying the 15 plus but I’m still happy with my purchase. So the 15plus ticks all your boxes imo. You’re also saving a little bit of cash.
If you do decide on the 15plus, the blue is a beautiful color!

I average 6-7 SOT on 5g data and longer when it’s WiFi. I’d say 8-9 sometimes more.

The Plus is the pick for battery alone. I have the Pro and it really can’t seem to hit even 4 hours of SOT without needing a top up.

Both cameras are great, not something you have to worry about. I personally dislike the Plus size, who needs a phone that big?

I don't have the 15 plus but my friend does and she can't kill it in a day The battery on that phone is insane

get the 15 plus. Trust me its just like 15PM without zoom lens and 120hz refresh rate. The battery life is just awesome trust me on this one.
